The Lonelier, the More Conservative? A Research about Loneliness and Risky Decision-Making  [PDF]

Abstract: Mountings of studies discussed about a variety of antecedent factors of risky decision making, however, loneliness, as a vital psychological state featured by affection, cognition as well as behavior, was seldom connected to risky decision-making. The current study aims to figure out whether loneliness would influence decision making under risks and the possible underlying mechanism. Two hundred and fifty participants attended our studies and completed gambling games via either pen-paper or E-Prime software. The results indicate that higher level of loneliness predicts less perceived self-control, which in turn leads to a tendency to avoid risks. However, this effect is only significant in gain scenarios rather than loss scenarios, suggesting there might exist an interaction between loneliness and condition factor. Our findings contribute to previous research by verifying that the preventive focused mind-set of loners can go beyond social events and influences decision making behaviors.

Abstract: In recent years, land corruption frequently turns up at various major media and caught the attention of all walks of life. But very few researches on land corruption can be seen. These researches are limited to manifestation and countermeasures of land corruption, which lack depth and systematicity. On this basis, this paper is designed from the behavioral research perspective to study the behavioral rules and characteristics of land corruption. It also discussed the in-depth institutional reasons for land corruption through a three-dimensional system (subject, occurrence part and method of land corruption) and empirical surveys of four typical cases. The conclusion of the study may be useful for a further understanding of the real situation of land corruption.

Abstract: Public service motivation is an emerging focus in recent years. From the perspective of public service motivation theory, this study investigated the possible influencing factors of public service motivation. Based on a sample of 382 public servants through questionnaire survey, we got a result that work autonomy is significantly correlated with public service motivation.

Abstract:
In this paper, we establish a framework for analyzing knowledge integration across organizations in the context of innovation clustering. In order to pinpoint the process of national innovation clustering and the internal process of knowledge integration, we view innovation clustering project from a systematic perspective. Based on multiple case studies of typical innovation clustering projects, this study identified multi-dimensional innovation clustering capacity of dominant firm, and established process model of innovation clustering involving innovation capability and knowledge integration. The results show that the perfect matching of innovation clustering capacity and the process of knowledge integration in the whole life cycle of innovation clustering is the key to innovation performance, and the dominant firm centered national innovation system needs the synergy of innovation clustering capability of dominant firm and efficient process of knowledge integration to integrate resources of all subjects and enhance innovative capability of whole system.

Based on petrophysical data mining application of K-means clustering analysis, it elaborated the practical significance of application association with big data technology in well logging field, which also provided a scientific reference for logging interpretation work and data analysis and processing method to broaden the application.

This study, using literature data, based on analysis of the ETFE cushions structure graphics and ETFE materials characteristics, taking the Beijing Water Cube Aquatics Centre as main case, focuses on the ETFE membrane structure of the basic information and this material in the field of sports building design principles and installation methods in order to promote the application of the ETFE membrane material in the field of sports building.

Abstract: The anti-money laundering has started a fast development in China recently. Laws and regulations tend to be more perfect. The supervision is more comprehensive. And the international cooperation is stronger. However, it still faces many problems. For example, among all checks by The People’s Bank of China, commercial banks often report their operations wrongly, causing information redundancy and serious missing. And even the information is useless. Reasons concern many aspects. Commercial banks do not pay attention to the anti-money laundering. The methods used for anti-money laundering are simple. Employees are not professional and lack of responsibility. Therefore, this paper, by analyzing the anti-money laundering mode, concludes that the key, also the difficulty, is to identify the dubious operation. Finally, this paper advances several suggestions for anti-money laundering.
Modification of energy shifts of atoms by the presence of a boundary in a thermal bath and the Casimir-Polder force

Abstract: We study the modification by the presence of a plane wall of energy level shifts of two-level atoms which are in multipolar coupling with quantized electromagnetic fields in a thermal bath in a formalism which separates the contributions of thermal fluctuations and radiation reaction and allows a distinct treatment to atoms in the ground and excited states. The position dependent energy shifts give rise to an induced force acting on the atoms. We are able to identify three different regimes where the force shows distinct features and examine, in all regimes, the behaviors of this force in both the low temperature limit and the high temperature limit for both the ground state and excited state atoms, thus providing some physical insights into the atom-wall interaction at finite temperature. In particular, we show that both the magnitude and the direction of the force acting on an atom may have a clear dependence on atomic the polarization directions. In certain cases, a change of relative ratio of polarizations in different directions may result in a change of direction of the force.
