Haiping Dai,Xinning Yang,Tingwei Dong,Yongwen Ke
Modern Applied Science , 2010, DOI: 10.5539/mas.v4n9p103
Abstract: According to the characteristics of beer brewing wastewater, Up-flow Anaerobic Sludge Bed and Membrane Bio-Reactor integrated technics (UASB+MBR) was applied. This paper investigated various operating parameters during the process of wastewater treatment in MBRs. The sludge loading and the membrane fouling were analyzed by detecting the sludge concentration and sludge characteristics. The results showed that when CODCr, NH4-N, T-P and T-N concentrations of the feed water were 500~1000mg/L, 20~30mg/L, 0.6~14mg/L and 19.5~41.1mg/L, respectively, it got some conclusions in the process.(1)The CODCr , NH4-N , T-P and T-N of MBR effluent could reduce to 40mg/L, 2.3mg/L , 0.3mg/L, 3mg/L, respectively. The quality of the effluent water in this system met the reuse of urban recycling water—Water quality standard landscaping water according to GB/T18921-2002; (2)The DO of the aerobic pool should be controlled at the range of 2~4mg/L, which could increase the removing efficiency of the NH4-N. (3)Appropriate adjustments to the volume of sludge and maintain the sludge concentration of membrane pool at 6~8g /L, which could reduce the velocity of membrane fouling. (4) With 1000mg/L of sodium hypochlorite and 2000mg/L hydrochloric acid alternate cleaning, the recovery of membrane flux can maintain above 95%.

Int'l J. of Communications, Network and System Sciences (IJCNS) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/ijcns.2017.105B026
Abstract:
In this paper, we analyse the deployment of middlebox. For a given network information and policy requirements, an attempt is made to determine the optimal location of middlebox to achieve the best performance. In terms of the end-to-end delay as a performance optimization index, a distributed middlebox placement algorithm based on potential game is proposed. Through extensive simulations, it demonstrates that the proposed algorithm achieves the near-optimal solution, and the end-to-end delay decreases significantly.
On the Jacobson Radical of an -Semiring
Yongwen Zhu
Algebra , 2013, DOI: 10.1155/2013/272104
Abstract: The notion of -ary semimodules is introduced so that the Jacobson radical of an -semiring is studied and some well-known results concerning the Jacobson radical of a ring (a semiring or a ternary semiring) are generalized to an -semiring. 1. Introduction The concept of semigroups [1] was generalized to that of ternary semigroups [2], that of -ary semigroups [3–6], and even to that of -semigroups [7]. Similarly, it was natural to generalize the notion of rings to that of ternary semirings, that of -ary semirings, and even that of -semirings. Indeed, there were some research articles on semirings, (see, for example, [8–14]), specially on the radical of a semiring; see [15–18]. Semigroups over semirings were studied in [19] and semimodules over semirings were studied in [14]. The notion of semirings can be generalized to ternary semirings [20] and -semirings [21], even to -semirings [22–24]. The radicals of ternary semirings and of -semirings were studied in [20, 21], respectively. The concept of -semirings was introduced and accordingly some simple properties were discussed in [22–24], where the concept of radicals was not mentioned. The notion of the Jacobson radicals was first introduced by Jacobson in the ring theory in 1945. Jacobson [25] defined the radical of , which we call the Jacobson radical, to be the join of all quasi-regular right ideals and verified that the radical is a two-sided ideal and can also be defined to be the join of the left quasi-regular ideals. The concept of the Jacobson radical of a semiring has been introduced internally by Bourne [15], where it was proved that the right and left Jacobson radicals coincide; thus one could say the Jacobson radical briefly. These and some other results were generalizations of well-known results of Jacobson [25]. In 1958, by associating a suitable ring with the semiring, Bourne and Zassenhaus defined the semiradical of the semiring [16]. In [18] it was proved that the concepts of the Jacobson radical and the semiradical coincide. Iizuka [17] considered the Jacobson radical of a semiring from the point of view of the representation theory [15] without reducing it to the ring theory. The external notion of the radical was proved to be related to internal one; at the same time, it was shown that the radical defined in [17] coincides with the Jacobson radical and with the semiradical of the semiring. In the present paper, we investigate -semirings by means of -ary semimodules so that we can define externally the Jacobson radical of an -semiring, and then we establish the radical properties of the
Structure of Clifford Semigroups of Matrices
Yongwen Zhu
Mathematics , 2010,
Abstract: In this paper, we characterize completely the structure of Clifford semigroups of matrices over an arbitrary field. It is shown that a semigroups of matrices of finite order is a Clifford semigroup if and only if it is isomorphic to a subdirect product of some linear (0-)groups. Then we generalize this result to a semigroup of matrices of countably infinite order and give a similar necessary and sufficient condition for it to be a Clifford semigroup.

Applied Mathematics (AM) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/am.2016.76049
Abstract: With the rapid development of the cloud computing technology, it has matured enough for a lot of individuals and organizations to move their work into the cloud. Correspondingly, a variety of cloud services are emerging. It is a key issue to assess the cloud services in order to help the cloud users select the most suitable cloud service and the cloud providers offer this service with the highest quality. The criteria parameters defining the cloud services are complex which lead to cloud service deviation. In this paper, we propose an assessment method of parameters importance in cloud services using rough set theory. The method can effectively compute the importance of cloud services parameters and sort them. On the one hand, the calculation can be used as the credible reference when users choose their appropriate cloud services. On the other hand, it can help cloud service providers to meet user requirements and enhance the user experience. The simulation results show the effectiveness of the method and its relevance in the cloud context.
Patterns of health-related quality of life and patterns associated with health risks among Rhode Island adults

Health and Quality of Life Outcomes , 2008, DOI: 10.1186/1477-7525-6-49
Abstract: Data from Rhode Island's 2004 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS) were used for this analysis. The BRFSS is a population-based random-digit-dialed telephone survey of adults ages 18 and older. In 2004 RI's BRFSS interviewed 3,999 respondents. A latent class regression (LCR) model, using 9 BRFSS HRQOL indicators, was used to determine latent classes of HRQOL for RI adults and to model the relationship between latent class membership and covariates.RI adults were categorized into four latent classes of HRQOL. Class 1 (76%) was characterized by good physical and mental HRQOL; Class 2 (9%) was characterized as having physically related poor HRQOL; Class 3 (11%) was characterized as having mentally related poor HRQOL; and Class 4 (4%) as having both physically and mentally related poor HRQOL. Class 2 was associated with older age, being female, unable to work, disabled, or unemployed, no participation in leisure time physical activity, or with having asthma or diabetes. Class 3 was associated with being female, current smoking, or having asthma or disability. Class 4 was associated with almost all the same predictors of Classes 2 and 3, i.e. older age, being female, unable to work, disabled, or unemployed, no participation in leisure time physical activity, current smoking, with having asthma or diabetes, or with low income.Using a LCR model, the authors found 4 distinct patterns of HRQOL among RI adults. The largest class was associated with good HRQOL; three smaller classes were associated with poor HRQOL. We identified the characteristics of subgroups at higher-risk for each of the three classes of poor HRQOL. Focusing interventions on the high-risk populations may be one approach to improving HRQOL in RI.Two overarching US Healthy People 2010 objectives are "to increase quality and years of healthy life," and "to eliminate health disparities" [1]. With the transition from infectious disease and acute illness to chronic disease and degenerative illness
Associations between health-related quality of life and demographics and health risks. Results from Rhode Island's 2002 behavioral risk factor survey

Health and Quality of Life Outcomes , 2006, DOI: 10.1186/1477-7525-4-14
Abstract: Data from Rhode Island's 2002 Behavioral Risk Factor Surveillance System (BRFSS), a random digit dialled telephone survey, were used for this study. The state wide sample contained a total of 3,843 respondents ages 18 and older. Multiple Imputation (MI) was applied to handle missing data, and data were modelled for each of 10 HRQOL indicators using multivariable logistic regression.By examining HRQOL through a multivariable approach we identified the strongest predictors for multiple indicators of poor HRQOL as well as predictors for specific indicators of poor HRQOL. Predictors for multiple indicators of poor HRQOL were: disability, inability to work, unemployment, lower income, lack of exercise, asthma, and smoking (specifically associated with poor mental health).Using multiple measures of HRQOL can help to assess the burden of poor health in a population, identify subgroups with unmet HRQOL needs, inform the development of targeted interventions, and monitor changes in a population's HRQOL over time. Use of these HRQOL measures in longitudinal and intervention studies is needed to increase our understanding of the causal relationships between demographics, health risk behaviors, and HRQOL.One of the two overarching goals of Healthy People 2010 is to increase the quality and years of healthy life for all people in the United States [1]. It is estimated that 41 million American adults 18 and older experience physical or mental impairments that affect their quality of life [2]. In public health and in medicine, the concept of health-related quality of life (HRQOL) refers to "those aspects of general subjective quality of life affecting a person's health or health perceptions," [3] or to a person's "perceived physical and mental health" [4].In the early 1990's, responding to concerns about the aging of the population, the burden of chronic disease, the epidemics of obesity and diabetes mellitus, environmental health threats, the persistence of health disparities and

Abstract: This work presents a new voltage programmed pixel circuit for an active-matrix organic light-emitting diode (AMOLED) display. The proposed pixel circuit consists of six low temperature polycrystalline silicon thin-film transistors (LTPS TFTs), one storage capacitor, and one OLED, and is verified by simulation work using HSPICE software. Besides effectively compensating for the threshold voltage variation of the driving TFT and OLED, the proposed pixel circuit offers an AC driving mode for the OLED, which can suppress the degradation of the OLED. Moreover, a high contrast ratio can be achieved by the proposed pixel circuit since the OLED does not emit any light except for the emission period.
