A Hybrid Key Management Scheme Based on Clustered Wireless Sensor Networks  [PDF]
Pengcheng Zhao, Yong Xu, Min Nan
Wireless Sensor Network (WSN) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/wsn.2012.48029
Abstract: According to the weakness of session key construction based on node’s own location, we propose a hybrid key management scheme which based on clustered wireless sensor networks. The use of hierarchical thinking, reducing the amount of key storage and computing, while supporting network topology, dynamic key management for which aims to prevent leakage. Through analyzing, it shows that the scheme have certain advantages in key connectivity, security, communication and energy consumption.
In-Depth Study on Synthesis Load Modeling  [PDF]
Qi Wang, Yong Tang, Bing Zhao
Energy and Power Engineering (EPE) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/epe.2013.54B096
Abstract:

Detailed procedures for the modeling of synthesis load models (SLM) of actual power network are presented, then the classification indices based on 1oad characteristics and the principle of load classification are expounded. Based on the results of general investigation of 220 kV and 330kV substations in China’s power grid, the load characteristics are classified, and detailed load characteristic investigation of selected different kinds of typical substations are carried out. By use of statistical synthesis, the SLM for typical substations, in which the distribution networks are taken into account, are built; and the modeling results are disseminated and applied to whole Chinese power grid. Besides, the load model parameters are evaluated and verified via post-disturbance simulation method. The effectiveness of the built SLM is validated by the fitting of some disturbance incidents.

Experimental Studies of Impacts of Reference Point and Its Change on Individual Value  [PDF]
Jianjiang Qian, Yong Zhao, Jianlin Yu
Theoretical Economics Letters (TEL) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/tel.2014.49100
Abstract: Prospect theory believes that value judgments of decision-makers are associated with reference point. Based on this intuition, this paper analyzes the impacts of reference point as well as its change on individual value with two risk selection experiments, which are at the same wealth level but have different reference points. Experiments find that reference point has significant influences on value function and decision weight at the same wealth level. Moreover, via the value function diagram, we find that the value of a certain wealth level rising from a relatively low reference point is higher than the value of the same wealth level declining from a relatively high reference point which initially is raised from the lower reference one. Intuitively, it also explains that the changes of the reference point will lead to a decline in the overall value of decision-maker.
Impacts of Changes in Sea Ice and Heat Flux on Arctic Warming  [PDF]
Yong Cao, Lingen Bian, Jinping Zhao
Atmospheric and Climate Sciences (ACS) , 2019, DOI: 10.4236/acs.2019.91006
Abstract: The reduction of Arctic sea ice has enhanced the sea-ice-air interaction in the Arctic atmospheric boundary layer, especially the increase in sea-air heat flux in autumn. Changes in radiation and heat flux and the role of sea-ice-air interactions in climate change in the central Arctic were analyzed and evaluated on the basis of the observation data of ice stations during the six Chinese Arctic Research Expeditions. The albedo is high in the Arctic sea-ice surface except the melting process. Overall, the Arctic sea-ice surface can absorb radiation energy, which is much lower than that absorbed by mid-latitude surfaces. Consequently, a relatively weak turbulence exchange occurred between the sea-ice surface and the atmosphere. Further estimates of the surface heat budget in the Arctic are obtained using eddy correlation and flux-profile method. The results are representative of the heat balance and ice-air interactions in the central Arctic Ocean. In the Arctic, changes in heat flux displayed notable interdecadal characteristics, similar to the change of sea-ice extent. The heat flux in September of each year in 2001-2014 was considerably higher compared with that in 1979-2000, particularly at the edges of the central Arctic Ocean. In September of each year in 1979-2014, the sea-ice extent was remarkably negatively correlated to the heat flux (sensible heat flux + latent heat flux), and the heat flux was considerably positively correlated to the atmospheric temperature at 2 m above sea level. This result demonstrates that a reduction of Arctic sea ice will lead to changes in heat flux, thereby warming the atmosphere and increasing the temperature of the atmospheric boundary layer over the Arctic. In addition, this impact is long-lasting.
Immune activation of erythroleukemia cells induced by interleukin 12
Yong Zhao,Xuetao Cao
Science China Life Sciences , 1998, DOI: 10.1007/BF02895109
Abstract: To investigate the antitumor activity of IL-12, the induction of differentiation of IL-12 was observed using erythroleukemia cells (FBL-3) as model. After incubation with 200 U/mL IL-12 for 48 h, DNA synthesis of FBL-3 cells in S phase decreased significantly; the expression of CD14 which is the specific marker of monocyte increased, the rate of NBT+ cells was apparently higher than that of the untreated FBL-3 cells. After treating FBL-3 cells with IL-12 for 72 h, the expression of 33D1 and NLDC145 which are the specific markers of dendritic cells increased markedly, the surface molecules such as MHC-11, B7-1, B7-2, and VCAM-1 were up-regulated; morphological observation showed two kinds of cells: some cells had a ruffled surface and plentiful lysosome; the others had many dendritic projections on the surface, and contained numerous mitochondria. Functionally, the IL-12-treated FBL-3 cells could apparently stimulate the proliferation of allogeneic and autologous T lymphocytes, and improve the specific cytotoxic activity of CTL on FBL-3 cells. These results indicated that erythroleukemia cells were induced by IL12 to differentiate into the monocytes and dendritic cells, then exhibited the antigen-presenting function. The data outline a new mechanism for IL-12 to treat leukemia.
NOTICING AND TEXT-BASED CHAT
Chun Lai,Yong Zhao
Language Learning and Technology , 2006,
Abstract: This study examined the capacity of text-based online chat to promote learners’ noticing of their problematic language productions and of the interactional feedback from their interlocutors. In this study, twelve ESL learners formed six mixed-proficiency dyads. The same dyads worked on two spot-the-difference tasks, one via online chat and the other through face-to-face conversation. Stimulated recall sessions were held subsequently to identify instances of noticing. It was found that text-based online chat promotes noticing more than face-to-face conversations, especially in terms of learners’ noticing of their own linguistic mistakes.
