Effects of enhancing p21 waf1 on proliferation and expression of G1cyclins andCDKs in human breast cancer cells

Abstract: The cyclin-dependent kinase inhibitor p21(waf1/cip1/sdi1) is an important negative regulator in control of cell cycle. Its functions of inhibiting cancer cell growth and its effects on expression of G1 phasecyclins and relatedCDKs are a worthy topic for study. The plasmid expressing p21 with high level was transformed to human breast cancer cells, and the expression of p21 in cells was enhanced, then the cell growth rate, anchorage-independent growth and tumorigenecity were tested, at the same time the expression levels ofcyclinD1, CDK4, cyclinE andCDK2 were analyzed by Northern blot. The results showed that since the expression of p21 was enhanced in the cell, the rate of cell growth and anchorage-independent growth was inhibited, tumorigenecity was suppressed, the level of expression ofcyclinE andCDK2 decreased while that ofcyclinD1 andCDK4 was not affected. It is suggested that the enhanced expression of p21 markedly inhibits the proliferation and lessens the tumorigenecity of breast cancer cells, and that p21 expression is not related to that ofcyclinD1 andCDK4, but affects the expression ofcyclinE andCDK2.
QoS Study Based On IEEE 802.16 Bandwidth Scheduling Strategy

Abstract: on the basis of presenting the existing problems of the QoS multimedia services in IEEE802.16, this paper analyzes the disadvantage and advantage of current bandwidth scheduling strategy based on IEEE802.16. Then an improvement strategy of IEEE802.16 PMP network model is proposed based on existing strict priority scheduling strategy. Finally, through the simulation data, it proves that the strategy can ensure the QoS performance and fairness of bandwidth allocation between various multimedia communication services.
BAP31 is frequently overexpressed in patients with primary colorectal cancer and correlates with better prognosis

Abstract: We previously showed that B cell receptor associated protein 31(BAP31) was significantly upregulated in colorectal cancer compared with normal mucosa epithelia. However, its expression pattern and pathological role in colorectal cancer are not clearly understood. In this study, we investigated whether the expression of BAP31 was associated with the clinicopathological parameters of colorectal cancer. The expression pattern of BAP31 was detected by immunohistochemistry on a tissue microarray in both primary tumor and paired distant normal mucosa samples from 120 consecutive colorectal cancer patients. Furthermore, BAP31 protein expression was also determined in twenty colorectal adenomas and eight liver metastasis samples. There was positive expression of BAP31 in 64.17% of primary tumors and 6.67% in distant normal mucosa (P=0.000). Negative expression of BAP31 was correlated with distant metastasis (P=0.036) and lower tumor differentiation grade (P=0.001). Patients with BAP31-negative expression showed significantly lower overall survival rate (P=0.003) compared to patients with BAP31-positive expression. Our results demonstrate that BAP31 may serve as a candidate prognostic marker in colorectal cancer and negative BAP31 expression may lead to more aggressive invasion of colorectal cancer.
MSH2 is required for cell proliferation, cell cycle control and cell invasiveness in colorectal cancer cells

Abstract: We have investigated the role of MSH2, a mismatch repair gene in cell proliferation, cell cycle control and cell invasiveness in the SW480 human colorectal cancer cell line. RNAi-mediated inhibition of MSH2 expression was achieved using MSH2 shRNA lentiviral expression vectors. Effective knockdown of endogenous MSH2 expression was determined by real-time PCR analysis. The most efficient MSH2 knockdown vector was selected for subsequent studies using SW480 cells. Endogenous MSH2 mRNA levels decreased after lentiviral delivery of the MSH2-RNAi, indicating efficient silencing of MSH2 expression in SW480 cells. Cell proliferation, cell cycle progression and cell invasiveness were quantified by MTT assays, flow cytometry and transwell assays, respectively. RNAi-mediated inhibition of MSH2 expression in SW480 cells resulted in decreased cell proliferation, cell cycle arrest at the G0/G1 phase and decreased cell invasiveness. Taken together, these results provide evidence that MSH2 stimulates cell proliferation, promotes cell cycle progression and positively regulates cell invasiveness.
An Impulse Model for Computer Viruses

Abstract: Computer virus spread model concerning impulsive control strategy is proposed and analyzed. We prove that there exists a globally attractive infection-free periodic solution when the vaccination rate is larger than 0. Moreover, we show that the system is uniformly persistent if the vaccination rate is less than 1. Some numerical simulations are finally given to illustrate the main results.
Fixation Probabilities on Complete Star and Bipartite Digraphs

Abstract: This paper exactly formulates the th-order fixation probabilities on complete star digraphs (CSDs), which extend the results from Broom and Rychtář (2008). By applying these probability formulae, some asymptotic properties on CBDs are analyzed, and certain CSDs are determined to be amplifiers of selection for arbitrary relative fitness larger than 1, while all the CSDs are proved to be amplifiers of selection for fixed relative fitness slightly larger than 1. A numerical method for fixed population structure (by solving a linear system) is developed to calculate the fixation probabilities on complete bipartite digraphs (CBDs), and some conjectures are finally given through simulations.
A Stochastic Dynamic Model of Computer Viruses

Abstract: A stochastic computer virus spread model is proposed and its dynamic behavior is fully investigated. Specifically, we prove the existence and uniqueness of positive solutions, and the stability of the virus-free equilibrium and viral equilibrium by constructing Lyapunov functions and applying Ito's formula. Some numerical simulations are finally given to illustrate our main results.

Abstract: 以2008年SCI数据库JCR和中国知网数据库2009年4月13日数据,统计比较了2008年SCIE中已经收录的中、英文版中国材料科学期刊(不含材料类大学学报)的影响因子、总被引频次、发表论文数及网络传播情况。指出:在现阶段,我国英文版材料科学期刊的影响力、传播效果不及中文版,说明在我国要办出具有影响力的国际化期刊,需要经过相当长时间的艰苦努力,建议首要做的事情是面向世界,创造和利用条件将所发表论文实现有效传播,不宜草率地将中文版改为英文版,因为在目前读者、作者平台,这样做的结果不比办出中文版精品期刊然后再逐步面向国际来得现实和有效。

Abstract: In view of the teachers’ professional characteristics, teachers are rated as high emotional workers. By reviewing the literatures of Chinese and foreign teachers’ emotional labor research, this paper sums up four aspects about teachers’ emotional labor: the definition of the concept of emotional labor, teacher’s emotional display rules, teachers’ emotional labor strategies and the antecedents and the consequences of teachers’ emotional labor and also discusses the shortage of contemporary studies about teachers’ emotional labor tentatively.
