Abstract: Image segmentation method based on level set model has wide potential application for its excellent seg-mentation result. However its complex computing restricts its application in video segmentation. In order to improve the speed of image segmentation, this paper presents a new level set initialization method based on Chan-Vese level set model. After a simple iterative, we can separate out the outline of objects. Experiments show that the method is simple and efficient, with good separation effects. The improved Chan-Vese method can be applied in video segmentation.

Abstract: Phytosterols are a group of steroids alcohols which had been regarded as a functional factor. An unknown compound in phytosterol samples and phytosterol standard samples was detected by HPLC using symmetry C18 column. The quan- tity of the compound was increased with the enrichment of β-sitosterol. After being collected and analyzed by GC-MS and compared with standard diagram from Wiley and Nist standard chart library, it proved to be γ-sitosterol, a 24β epimer of β-sitosterol.

A user profile contains information about a user. A substantial effort has been made so as to understand users’ behavior through analyzing their profile data. Online social networks provide an enormous amount of such information for researchers. Sina Weibo, a Twitter-like microblogging platform, has achieved a great success in China although studies on it are still in an initial state. This paper aims to explore the relationships among different profile attributes in Sina Weibo. We use the techniques of association rule mining to identify the dependency among the attributes and we found that if a user’s posts are welcomed, he or she is more likely to have a large number of followers. Our results demonstrate how the relationships among the profile attributes are affected by a user’s verified type. We also put some efforts on data transformation and analyze the influence of the statistical properties of the data distribution on data discretization.

Abstract: With the constantly changing surroundings and highly developed technology, brand crisis accordingly shows the increasing trend, which took a lot of companies by surprise and made them especially hard-hit. In brand crisis companies usually adopt an apology, compensation, denied and silent strategy to cope with consumers, hoping to be able to get consumers to forgive and repair the damaged brand relationship. This work firstly put forward a concept “reparability of brand crisis”, which should be defined to judge how an enterprise could be repaired from a brand crisis, and selected crisis processing capacity index to build up impact model about how enterprise’s crisis processing capacity affected the degree of brand crisis reparability.
Prediction of nonregular secondary structures of proteins based on wavelet analysis

Abstract: The secondary structures of proteins fall into two classes: regular structure and nonregular structure. Helices and sheets are termed “regular” structures because their residues have repeating main-chain torsion angles, and their backbone N-H and C-O groups are arranged in a periodic pattern of hydrogen bonding. In contrast, the remaining structures with nonrepeating backbone torsion angles are called nonregular secondary structures. In this note, we performed an extensive sequence analysis of nonregular secondary structures and showed that these nonregular parts could be effectively predicted by continuous wavelet transform.

Abstract: Zen is the product of Buddhism and Chinese culture, as the part of which ,it has penetrated into our daily life, and surpassed itself. Zen gives traditional Chinese art design special color and influences people ‘s thought of design esthetics, style of design esthetics, all these become our traditional ways of expression. But the influence of Zen is seldom noticed. Now people come to know the importance of traditions. this article try to talk about Zen’s influence on Chinese art design and its significance by three points: the sense of “yijing”, space and natural consciousness. Key words: zen, Buddhist Culture, art design, traditional culture Résumé: Le zen est le produit de la combinaison du bouddhisme et de la culture chinoise. En tant que partie de notre culture, il pépètre déja dans tous les domaines de notre vie quotidienne. La culture Zen permet au deisign artistique traditionnel de Chine de revêtir des aspects originaux, influe dans une large mesure sur l’esthétique du design et devient ainsi un moyen spécial d’exprimer la sentiment et l’esthétique nationaux. Cependant, l’influence de l’école Zen sur l’art est rarement invoquée. Il est nécessaire de reconsidérer son influence dans le contexte où l’on insiste sur le retour à la tradition nationale du design. L’article présent tente d’aborder comment l’école Zen influence la pensée artistique traditionnelle de Chine et sa conception du design sous les angles de la conception de l’état d’ame, la conscience spatiale et la conscience naturelle dans le design artistique, et d’explorer la portée actuelle de cette influence. Observation of Multiple folding Pathways of beta-hairpin Trpzip2 from Independent Continuous Folding Trajectories

Abstract: We report 10 successfully folding events of trpzip2 by molecular dynamics simulation. It is found that the trizip2 can fold into its native state through different zipper pathways, depending on the ways of forming hydrophobic core. We also find a very fast non-zipper pathway. This indicates that there may be no inconsistencies in the current pictures of beta-hairpin folding mechanisms. These pathways occur with different probabilities. zip-out is the most probable one. This may explain the recent experiment that the turn formation is the rate-limiting step for beta-hairpin folding.

Abstract: With the shortage of energy and the rise of crude oil in the world, the development of oil shale is gaining more attention globally. To solve the problem of traditional heat conduction with low efficiency and high cost for oil shale, a new technology called radio frequency (RF) heating (microwave heating) is introduced in this paper. Radio frequency electromagnetic (microwave) can do work directly on medium molecule of oil shale and change into heat energy, the transmission of which allows both inner and outer molecules heating simultaneously without heat conduction. Meanwhile, oil shale is a poor microwave absorbing material and microwave absorbents must be added to reach pyrolysis temperature. By this means, shale oil could be heated at a higher speed and kerogen will gradually be cracked into gas and oil. Then shale oil and gas will flow into the production wells through fractures generated by heating and be pumped up to the surface.
