Colonic cancer during pregnancy is a rare event, whit incidence between 0.07 and 0.1%. Early diagnosis is difficult and prognosis is severe as it generally made at an advanced stage. We report a case of metastasic adenocarcinoma of the transverse colon in a 38-year-old pregnant patient diagnosed at 31 weeks of gestation. The problem of diagnosis as well as management of this pathology is discussed.

Reencuentro , 2008,
An Implementation Method for the Geodesics with Constraints on Heisenberg Manifolds  [PDF]
Yasmina Khellaf, Naceurdine Bensalem
Applied Mathematics (AM) , 2012, DOI: 10.4236/am.2012.330209
Abstract: In this paper we address the implementation issue of the geodesics method with constraints on Heisenberg manifolds. First we present more details on the method in order to facilitate its implementation and second we consider Mathema-tica as a software tool for the simulation. This implementation is of great importance since it allows easy and direct determination of Ricci tensor, which plays a fundamental role in the Heisenberg manifold metric.
Acoustic measures of the cry characteristics of healthy newborns and newborns with pathologies  [PDF]
Yasmina Kheddache, Chakib Tadj
Journal of Biomedical Science and Engineering (JBiSE) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/jbise.2013.68097
Abstract: Several hypotheses have been formulated as a result of observing spectrograms of the audio signals of the newborn infant cry in numerous studies. Our study is based on a few of these hypotheses. The purpose of this article is to differentiate pathological crying from healthy crying through acoustic cry analysis based on neurophysiological parameters of newborns. The automatic estimation of the characteristics of relevant cry signals, such as phonation, hyperphonation, and dysphonation, expressed as percentages, as well as unvoiced sound and mode change percentages, have enabled us to distinguish among the pathologies selected for this study. The results obtained have helped us to make quantitative associations between cry characteristics and pathological conditions affecting newborns.

Characterization of Pathologic Cries of Newborns Based on Fundamental Frequency Estimation  [PDF]
Yasmina Kheddache, Chakib Tadj
Engineering (ENG) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/eng.2013.510B057
Abstract:

The majority of the sick babies seem in good health at birth and early diagnosis of the various pathologies that can afflict newborn is crucial. For this reason we introduce in this paper the use of the fundamental frequency and the different modes of cries as Hyper-phonation, phonation and high pitched cries to differentiate the pathological cries from the cries of the healthy babies. The automatic estimation of these characteristics enabled us to establish a quantitative characterization of healthy newborn cries and pathologic newborn cries. The results obtained agree with the spectrographic analysis carried out on the healthy and pathologic cries of the newborns.

A simple algorithm based on fluctuations to play the market
L. Gil
Physics , 2007,
Abstract: In Biology, all motor enzymes operate on the same principle: they trap favourable brownian fluctuations in order to generate directed forces and to move. Whether it is possible or not to copy one such strategy to play the market was the starting point of our investigations. We found the answer is yes. In this paper we describe one such strategy and appraise its performance with historical data from the European Monetary System (EMS), the US Dow Jones, the german Dax and the french Cac40.
An Empirical Study on the Effects of Real Effective Exchange Rate on Algeria’s Trade Balance
Yasmina Guechari
International Journal of Financial Research , 2012, DOI: 10.5430/ijfr.v3n4p102
Abstract: The purpose of this study is to estimate the effects of Real Effective Exchange Rate (REER) on Algeria’s trade balance (TB). There exist two groups of studies that have investigated in the short-run and long run effects of real effective exchange rate on trade balance. The first group has employed at aggregate level between Algeria and the rest of world. The second group has used the trade at the bilateral level between Algeria and her two major trading partners, US (as a largest export partner of Algeria) and France (as a largest import partner of Algeria). Since a country’s trade balance behavior is directly depending on real effective exchange rate (REER), foreign income (Y*) and real domestic income (Y), so, we include all these variables in our model to test the general case (Algeria-world case) and specific case (Algeria-France and Algeria-UScase). This study uses unit root tests, co-integration techniques, Error Correction Model (ECM) and impulse response function with time series data covering the periods of 1981Q1-2009Q4. The main findings of this study are: (i) REER have a significant expected impact (positive in long-run and negative in short-run) on the Algeria bilateral trade balance with respect to US and France, and on the total trade balance. (ii) The Granger Causality test suggests that REER does Granger causes trade balance for all cases of study. The study clearly demonstrates that real devaluations of exchange rate in Algeria have been positively associated with improvement of trade balance. Hence, devaluation of currency as a whole seems to be beneficial for Algeria exports.
An existence result for elliptic problems with singular critical growth
Yasmina Nasri
Electronic Journal of Differential Equations , 2007,
Abstract: We prove the existence of nontrivial solutions for the singular critical problem $$ -Delta u-mu frac{u}{|x|^{2}}=lambda f(x)u+u^{2^{ast }-1} $$ with Dirichlet boundary conditions. Here the domain is a smooth bounded subset of $mathbb{R}^N$, $Ngeq 3$, and $2^{ast }=frac{2N}{N-2}$ which is the critical Sobolev exponent.
Bloqueo 3 en 1 para analgesia en pacientes con fractura de cadera
González Castilla,Roberto; Bustamante Recouso,Yasmina; Toranzo Labrada,Raúl; Hernández Méndez,Jorge;
MEDISAN , 2012,
Abstract: a therapeutic intervention was conducted in 81 older adults with hip fracture, who underwent emergency operation in "dr. ambrosio grillo portuondo" teaching clinical surgical hospital of santiago de cuba, from january 2008 to january 2009 in order to determine the effectiveness of the 3-in-1 block for pain relief in the preoperative period. patients were randomly assigned to two treatment groups: study group (n=39) in whom 3-in-1 block with 0.5 % bupivacaine was administered, and control group (n=42), which was treated intramuscularly with metamizole (600 mg every 8 hours). using a visual analogical scale pain was measured at the beginning of the treatment, after 30 and 60 minutes, and every 4 hours to complete 12. a prevalence of 60-79 (51.2%) age group and female sex (58.0%) was found, as well as a reduction of the disease at rest with both therapeutic procedures. also, adequate pain relief was achieved in those that received 3-in-1 block, of them only 5.1% required rescue analgesia, so that this technique was effective to achieve the desired effect.
