Sifontes,Yaritza;
Anales Venezolanos de Nutrición , 2007,
Abstract: abstract: since alma ata the communal participation in health has been defined as the process in which individuals and families assume the responsibilities that concern their health and well being as a contribution to their own development. moreover, nowadays the countries that belong to the "carta of bangkok" have recognized, that the succeed of health and its subsequent development have required, besides other things, agreements between communities and other sectors such as the government, international agents, civil society, private sector and academic institutions. accordingly, the main challenge of globalization is that of transforming passive participation into one in which the administration starts bestowing power upon its leading citizens. appropriately, this will provide the citizens with the necessary ascendancy and authority to accept with responsibility the exercise of their autonomy in health matters; all of this as a mean to achieve success and sustainability of the nutrition programs. the literature is plenty of information about the understanding and achievement of this communal participation. furthermore, particularly, in nutrition, the united nations of nutrition and agriculture has prepared a report that depicts and exhibits the four factors that, from their experience, determines the success of the local programs of nutrition (macrocontextual factors, community level factors, programme design features, sustainability). conclusively, the approach that has been developed and presented in this document shows that the elements allow the contextualization in the case of our country. an venez nutr 2007;20 (1): 30-44

Abstract: This paper reflects on some essential contradictions of university teacher’s training, as a socio-formative-transforming integrity of the educational praxis that allows the university professor enhance reflective, critical, with a strong educational culture to develop training-educational, didactic and transformer processes. This refers to the need to deepen on new didactic relations, supported by a logic of systematization of a strategic performance in the pedagogical practice of teaching, letting the epistemic growth of Pedagogical Science from the particularities of the "strategic teaching training", always in relation to its social impact, through educational processes that is not only developed in the educational praxis, but also from it.ResumenSe reflexiona sobre algunas contradicciones esenciales del proceso de formación del docente universitario, como integridad socio-formativa-transformadora de la praxis educativa.

Abstract: Higher Education needs theories and methods to guarantee the teachers professional development as an investigator committed to his reality and able to apply transforming strategies close to the scientific way of the pedagogic process, uprising its principal relations and regularities and integrating in a coherent manner the best of the pedagogic thought to achieve the professional formation that actual social changes demand. Pedagogic investigation in teacher’s formation is due to a formation’s logic not only consisting in sharing preestablished knowledge on scientific investigation, but dedicated to investigate from theoretical and methodological dynamics of the systemic pedagogical work’s own specificity. Therefore, the university must create possibilities so that students investigate, create and transform what is established, but from their own professional culture. Pedagogic investigation process must run from the acknowledgment of the educative reality by means of the comprehension, explanation and methodological interpretation which synthesizes in the socio transforming management of the pedagogic investigation, from an integrated projection to establish an internal order upraising two essential moments which synthesizes the theoretical model; the management of the educative practice formation, and the instrumentation of pedagogical investigation. The model outcomes from the scientific results of a scientific investigative process emerging from a scientific problem shared in the teachers’ formation in Cumanacoa, Municipio Montes del Estado Sucre, Venezuela context.

Abstract: Background: Many studies have provided evidence for an association between obesity, physical inactivity, and western diet as risk factors for colorectal cancer (CRC). Few studies directly address the association between type 2 Diabetes Mellitus (DM) and the risk of colorectal lesions at specific anatomic locations. Methods: 2663 subjects with a previous history of adenoma (s) and removal of all current adenomas at study entry were followed for a mean time of three years across three different chemoprevention clinical trials. The primary endpoint was colorectal adenoma recurrence and number of lesions during the treatment phase; the secondary endpoints were presence of advanced colorectal neoplasia (CRN) and location of CRN. Using log linear regression, the effect of DM status on the relative risk (RR) of CRN recurrence, advanced CRN, and location of CRN was assessed. Results: DM status was not significantly associated with incidence of colorectal adenomas, incidence of advanced colorectal lesions, or left-sided colorectal neoplastic lesions. Subjects with DM had a marginally increased risk of right-sided (p = 0.06) colorectal adenomas and a significant increased risk of multiple right-sided adenomas (p = 0.03) in the unadjusted model; this association was not significant after adjusting for age and other potential confounders (RR = 1.22, 95% CI: 0.85 - 1.76). Conclusion: We did not observe a statistically significant increased risk in CRN recurrence for overall neoplasia, advanced neoplasia or location of neoplasia in individuals with DM compared to non-DM individuals. However, given the patterns observed in this investigation, future studies with longer follow-up time and longer DM exposure, incorporating objective measurements of type 2 DM might help elucidate the risk of CRN among individuals with DM.
