Abstract: a retrospective transversal study was carried out on the basis of an investigative-action project, with the objective of identifying the effectiveness of fine needle, ultrasound-guided aspiration cytologies made in the hospital jose ramon lopez tabrane, and that way to diagnose as early as possible mammary pathologies, giving special importance to pre-malign and malign ones, because early diagnose allows decreasing morbimortality for this condition, in a period from march to september 2009. the universe were 141 patients, who assisted the consultation of fine needle ultrasound-guided cytology, presenting palpable lesions and non palpable ones visualized by ultrasound and mammography. cytologies were made directly from the observed lesion and were grouped according to age, ultrasound, mammographic findings and post-surgery biopsies. data were collected from the consultation records and cytologies and biopsies records of the pathologic anatomy department of our hospital. we analyzed ultrasound and mammographic diagnosis and compared them with the histological ones. in patients surgically operated, imaging and cytological diagnosis was correlated with final biopsy. the bigger percent of studied patients belonged to the age group from 31 to 49 years old. there were a greater number of benign pathologies, with a bigger percent of echogenic images to ultrasound, corresponding by mammography to aisled nodules. it was proved a predominance of fibroadipose tissue (16,73 %) by histology. there were diagnosed 9 cellular atypicities (6,59 %) and 8 infiltrating ductal carcinomas (5,77 %). 17 patients were operated with cytological diagnosis of atypia as infiltrating ductal carcinoma (12,36 %), totally coinciding this diagnosis with the post-surgery biopsy made in each case.

The aneurism of the abdominal aorta has been recognized as an important health problem in the last decade. The anomalies of the vascular tree are common. The isolated aneurisms of the aorta artery are observed quite frequently. The statistics associated to this disease provoke great preoccupation and it is foreseen that its incidence increases in the subsequent years, due to the increase of the population’s life expectancy. The caliber of the abdominal aorta does not exceed 3 cm of diameter and it gets thinner progressively at the time it wanders distally. The rupture risk depends on the aneurism size. We reported the case of a woman aged 61 years, who assisted the consultation for having pain, accompanied by hypotension, an acute anemia, fatigue with profuse perspiration and pulsations in the epigastrium. An abdominal ultrasound was made, finding a slight distension of the abdominal aorta of 3,7 cm, extended up to the iliac branches. We indicated an abdominal computed axial tomography discovering the damage of the abdominal aorta.

Vascular tree anomalies are common. Iliac arteries isolated aneurisms are very unusual. They represent an scarce percent of the different statistics and their isolation is frequently highlighted, precisely to recollect their rareness. We report the case of a male, 74-years-old patient, assisting the consultation with urinary symptoms. An abdominal ultrasound was made, showing moderated bilateral renal hydronephrosis and also complex masses in each iliac fosse. An abdomen computed axial tomography was indicated, confirming the bilateral renal hydronephrosis and aneurisms in both iliac arteries. The study was completed with an Angiotac and it was demonstrated that both iliac arteries were tortuous and dilated ( Mega-dolicho arteries ).
