Periodic solutions and flip bifurcation in a linear impulsive system

Abstract: In this paper, the dynamical behaviour of a linear impulsive system is discussed both theoretically and numerically. The existence and the stability of period-one solution are discussed by using a discrete map. The conditions of existence for flip bifurcation are derived by using the centre manifold theorem and bifurcation theorem. The bifurcation analysis shows that chaotic solutions appear via a cascade of period-doubling in some interval of parameters. Moreover, the periodic solutions, the bifurcation diagram, and the chaotic attractor, which show their consistence with the theoretical analyses, are given in an example.
A Proof for the Existence of Chaos in Diffusively Coupled Map Lattices with Open Boundary Conditions

Abstract: We first study how to make use of the Marotto theory to prove rigorously the existence of the Li-Yorke chaos in diffusively coupled map lattices with open boundary conditions (i.e., a high-dimensional discrete dynamical system). Then, the recent 0-1 test for chaos is applied to confirm our theoretical claim. In addition, we control the chaotic motions to a fixed point with delay feedback method. Numerical results support the theoretical analysis.
Bifurcation control and chaos in a linear impulsive system

Abstract: Bifurcation control and the existence of chaos in a class of linear impulsive systems are discussed by means of both theoretical and numerical ways. Chaotic behaviour in the sense of Marotto's definition is rigorously proven. A linear impulsive controller, which does not result in any change in one period-1 solution of the original system, is proposed to control and anti-control chaos. The numerical results for chaotic attractor, route leading to chaos, chaos control, and chaos anti-control, which are illustrated with two examples, are in good agreement with the theoretical analysis.

Abstract: The recommendation G.728 depends on the Levinson-Durbin algorithm to update gain filter coefficients. In this topic, it is replaced by three different methods which are the weighted L-S recursive filter, the finite memory recursive filter and the BP neural network, respectively. Using these three gain filter the speech coding effect is all better than the G.728. The weighted L-S algorithm has the best result. Its average segment SNR is higher than the G.728 about 0.76dB. It is also used to evaluate the case that excitation vector is 16 and 20 samples respectively; the weighted L-S algorithm has similarly the best result.

Abstract: Construction of Eukaryotic recombinant expression Vector pCI-ORF5-ORF6/ pCI-ORF5-ORF6B-Hsp70 Containing Hsp70 and PRRSV GP5/M (encoded by ORF5 and ORF6 genes), and to study its immune effect. After being identified by enzyme analysis and nucleotide sequencing test, the repression vector plasmid was transfected into COS-7 cells. The transient expression protein was detected by Western-blotting. The immunogenicities of this DNA vaccine constructs were firstly investigated in a mouse moder. IFN-γ, IL-4 of cytokine, and the spleen T-lymphocyte subgroup quantity (CD4+/CD8+) were detected, DNA vaccine distribution in mice by PCR .The result shows that the recombinant plasmid pCI-ORF5-ORF6-Hsp70 could induce higher response of cellular immune responses and specific immune responses in mouse, the DNA Vaccines in mice Vaccinated via as heart and liver ,lung and kidney, muscle and brain each time step after immunity. providing the clinical basic data and theoretical basis for success of the DNA vaccine development.
B-vitamin consumption and the prevalence of diabetes and obesity among the US adults: population based ecological study

Abstract: This population based ecological study was conducted to examine possible associations between the consumption of the B vitamins and macronutrients and the obesity and diabetes prevalence in the US population using the per capita consumption data from the US Economic Research Service and the prevalence data from the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention.The prevalences of diabetes and adult obesity were highly correlated with per capita consumption of niacin, thiamin and riboflavin with a 26-and 10-year lag, respectively (R2 = 0.952, 0.917 and 0.83 for diabetes, respectively, and R2 = 0.964, 0.975 and 0.935 for obesity, respectively). The diabetes prevalence increased with the obesity prevalence with a 16-year lag (R2 = 0.975). The relationships between the diabetes or obesity prevalence and per capita niacin consumption were similar both in different age groups and in male and female populations. The prevalence of adult obesity and diabetes was highly correlated with the grain contribution to niacin (R2 = 0.925 and 0.901, respectively), with a 10-and 26-year lag, respectively. The prevalence of obesity in US adults during 1971-2004 increased in parallel with the increase in carbohydrate consumption with a 10-year lag. The per capita energy and protein consumptions positively correlated with the obesity prevalence with a one-year lag. Moreover, there was an 11-year lag relationship between per capita energy and protein consumption and the consumption of niacin, thiamin and riboflavin (R2 = 0.932, 0.923 and 0.849 for energy, respectively, and R2 = 0.922, 0.878 and 0.787 for protein, respectively).Long-term exposure to high level of the B vitamins may be involved in the increased prevalence of obesity and diabetes in the US in the past 50 years. The possible roles of B-vitamins fortification and excess niacin consumption in the increased prevalence of obesity and diabetes were discussed.Obesity and type 2 diabetes have been a major global health problem [1,2].

Abstract: 应用包含9024条鸡cDNA的表达谱芯片,对从两品种鸡脂肪组织抽提及纯化的mRNA进行芯片杂交,并对基因表达谱进行分析,旨在筛选高脂肉鸡和白耳蛋鸡脂肪组织差异表达的基因,探讨造成两品种体脂性状差异的分子生物学机理。结果按差异显著阳性标准分析,共筛选出差异表达基因67条,主要涉及脂类代谢、能量代谢、细胞骨架构成、转录和剪接因子以及蛋白质合成与分解等相关基因,此外,还筛选出一些尚未在GenBank上登陆的序列,推测可能是未知的新基因,它们在鸡脂类代谢的过程所起到的作用还需进一步实验证明。
Profiling of chicken adipose tissue gene expression by genome array

Abstract: The gene expression profiles detected 13,234–16,858 probe sets in chicken adipose tissue at 7 weeks, and genes involved in lipid metabolism and immunity such as fatty acid binding protein (FABP), thyroid hormone-responsive protein (Spot14), lipoprotein lipase(LPL), insulin-like growth factor binding protein 7(IGFBP7) and major histocompatibility complex (MHC), were highly expressed. In contrast, some genes related to lipogenesis, such as leptin receptor, sterol regulatory element binding proteins1 (SREBP1), apolipoprotein B(ApoB) and insulin-like growth factor 2(IGF2), were not detected. Moreover, 230 genes that were differentially expressed between the two lines were screened out; these were mainly involved in lipid metabolism, signal transduction, energy metabolism, tumorigenesis and immunity. Subsequently, real-time RT-PCR was performed to validate fifteen differentially expressed genes screened out by the microarray approach and high consistency was observed between the two methods.Our results establish the groundwork for further studies of the basic genetic control of growth and development of chicken adipose tissue, and will be beneficial in clarifying the molecular mechanism of obesity in chickens.The chicken is an important model organism that bridges the evolutionary gap between mammals and other vertebrates [1]. Research on chickens (Gallus gallus) has had a significant impact on fundamental biology. The domestic chicken also provides a major protein source from meat and eggs for most human populations throughout the world. Selective Transurethral Resection of the Prostate Combined with Transurethral Incision of the Bladder Neck for Bladder Outlet Obstruction in Patients with Small Volume Benign Prostate Hyperplasia (BPH): A Prospective Randomized Study

Abstract: Purpose Transurethral resection of the prostate (TURP) has a high failure rate in patients with small volume benign prostate hyperplasia (BPH) with bladder outlet obstruction (BOO). We describe and report the results of an alternative surgical method, selective transurethral resection of the prostate (STURP) in combination with transurethral incision of the bladder neck (TUIBN). Methods Patients were randomized to receive TURP or STRUP+TUIBN in combination with TUIBN. Maximum urinary flow rate (Qmax), voided volume, and post voiding residual volume (PVR) were assessed at baseline and at 1, 3, and 6 months after surgery. Efficacy of treatment was assessed by lower urinary tract symptoms and IPSS. Results Sixty three patients received STRUP+TUIBN and 61 received TURP. Surgical time, amount of prostate tissue resected, and blood loss was the same in both groups (all, p>0.05). The mean duration of follow-up was 9.02 and 8.53 months in patients receiving TURP and STRUP+TUIBN, respectively. At 6 months postoperatively, IPSS was 4.26±1.22 and 4.18±1.47 in patients receiving TURP and STRUP+TUIBN, respectively (p>0.05), and the Qmax in patients receiving STRUP+TUIBN was markedly higher than in those receiving TURP (28.28±6.46 mL/s vs. 21.59±7.14 mL/s; p<0.05). Bladder neck contracture and urinary tract infections were observed in 3 and 5 patients receiving TURP, respectively, and none in STURP. Conclusions STRUP+TUIBN may offer a more effective and safer alternative to TURP for small volume BPH patients.
