Abstract: Silica sulfuric acid catalyzes efficiently the reaction of carbamates and oxazolidinones with anhydrides under solvent-free conditions. All the reactions were done at room temperature and the N-acyl carbamates and oxazolidinones were obtained with high yields and purity via an easy work-up procedure. Abstract: Evodia rutaecarpa (E.R.) is a commonly used Chinese herbal medicine. However, it exerts certain hepatotoxicity and the underlying molecular mechanism has not been clarified. In this study, we investigated the molecular mechanism involved in hepatotoxicity induced by E.R. Mice were treated with E.R. water- and ethanol-extract at dosage equivalent to 16.67 g crude-drug/kg body weight by intragastric administration once a day on 30 consecutive days. The effect of E.R. extract on liver, manifested by histopathologic effects, liver index, and blood biochemical indexes were tested. In addition, interleukin (IL)-1β, IL-6, IL-8, and tumor necrosis factor (TNF)-α in liver tissue were measured. The signaling transduction molecules were determined by antibody microarray assay, and verified by western blot. E.R. extract, either water- or ethanol-extract, can induce liver dysfunction. Signaling molecules, Erk1/2, Src, CDK8 and CK1e, were involved in this process. E.R. extract can induce Ck1e expression and phosphorylation of Erk1/2 and CDK8, and inhibit Src phosphorylation. Inflammatory cytokines in liver tissue, IL-1β, IL-6, IL-8, and TNF-α were markedly increased upon the treatment of E.R. extract. In conclusion, E.R.-induced hepatotoxicity was due to the expression of inflammatory cytokine, which was mediated through Erk1/2, Src, CDK8 and CK1e.

Abstract: Mitogen-activated protein kinases (MAPKs) are important components in signal transduction modules which play crucial roles in regulation of many biological processes in plants. Although genome-wide analysis of MAPK and MAPKK family has been carried out in poplar species, few data about the biological function analysis of this gene family are available to date. In this study, a group C MAPK gene 84KMPK14 was cloned from hybrid poplar (Populus alba × P. glandulosa cv. 84K). It contained a typical protein kinase domain, a conserved TEY-motif and an atypical conserved common docking (CD) domain. Abstract: This paper tries to analyze Chinese three types of bank’s efficiency changes and differences, after the financial crisis, through the integrated use of DEA and super efficiency DEA method. The results show that: the efficiency of Chinese commercial Banks in general is on the rise, the comprehensive technical efficiency growth stems mainly from scale efficiency improvement, pure technical efficiency is stagnant, and scale efficiency presents convergence among all kinds of banks, while the technical level is the core strength of banks’ current and future competition. State-owned banks with the technology competitive advantage and scale efficiency improved, began to catch up with other banks, reversed the operational inefficiency; City commercial banks due to the system advantage were more easily to be in the efficient production frontier surface.

Abstract: Equations of the reaction-diffusion type are very well known and have been extensively studied in many research areas. In this paper, the prolongation structures for the system of the reaction-diffusion type are investigated from theory of coverings. The realizations and the classifications of the one-dimensional coverings of the system are researched. And the corresponding conservation law of the one-dimensional Abelian coverings is concluded, which is closely connected with the symmetry of the system by Noether theorem.
Alternative expression of TCRζ related genes in patients with chronic myeloid leukemia

Abstract: A previous study has demonstrated a significant decrease in the TCRζ gene expression level in chronic myeloid leukemia (CML); thus, we further investigated the expression of TCRζ-regulating factors, the distribution of the TCRζ 3' untranslated region (3'-UTR) splice variants, and the expression level and correlation of the alternative splicing factor/splicing factor 2 (ASF/SF-2), FcεRIγ and ZAP-70 genes. TCRζ 3'-UTR splice variants were identified in peripheral blood mononuclear cells (PBMCs) from 14 healthy individuals, 40 patients with CML and 22 patients with CML in complete remission (CML-CR) by RT-PCR. The expression level of the TCRζ, FcεRIγ, ASF/SF-2 and ZAP-70 genes was analyzed by real-time quantitative PCR. While the expression of TCRζ gene in the CML group was significantly lower than that in the healthy individual and CML-CR groups, a significantly higher expression of the FceRIγ and ASF/SF-2 genes was found in the CML group. Two types of splicing forms were detected in all of the healthy individual CML-CR cases: wild type (WT) TCRζ 3'-UTR and alternatively splieced (AS) TCRζ 3'-UTR which have been alternatively splieced in the WT TCRζ 3'-UTR . However, 35% of the CML cases contained only the wild type TCRζ 3'-UTR isoform. Based on the TCRζ 3'-UTR isoform expression characteristic, we divided the patients with CML into two subgroups: the WT+AS- CML group, containing patients that express only the wild type TCRζ 3'-UTR, and the WT+AS+ CML group, which contained patients that expressed two TCRζ 3'-UTR isoforms. A significantly different ASF/SF-2 and FcεRIγ gene expression pattern was found between the WT+AS- and WT+AS+CML groups. We concluded that defective TCRζ expression may be characterized in the WT+AS-and WT+AS+CML subgroups by the different gene expression pattern. The overexpression of ASF/SF2, which alternatively splices the TCRζ 3’-UTR, is thought to participate in feedback regulation. The characteristics of TCRζ 3'-UTR alternative splicing may be a novel immunological marker for the evaluation of the CML immune status.
Aging influence on grey matter structural associations within the default mode network utilizing Bayesian network modeling

Abstract: Recent neuroimaging studies have revealed normal aging-related alterations in functional and structural brain networks such as the default mode network (DMN). However, less is understood about specific brain structural dependencies or interactions between brain regions within the DMN in the normal aging process. In this study, using Bayesian network (BN) modeling, we analyzed grey matter volume data from 109 young and 82 old subjects to characterize the influence of aging on associations between core brain regions within the DMN. Furthermore, we investigated the discriminability of the aging-associated BN models for the young and old groups. Compared to their young counterparts, the old subjects showed significant reductions in connections from right inferior temporal cortex (ITC) to medial prefrontal cortex (mPFC), right hippocampus (HP) to right ITC, and mPFC to posterior cingulate cortex (PCC) and increases in connections from left HP to mPFC and right inferior parietal cortex (IPC) to right ITC. Moreover, the classification results showed that the aging-related BN models could predict group membership with 88.48% accuracy, 88.07% sensitivity and 89.02% specificity. Our findings suggest that structural associations within the DMN may be affected by normal aging and provide crucial information about aging effects on brain structural networks.
Local Gateway Assisted Handover Key Derivation in Enterprise Femtocell Network  [PDF]

Abstract:

With the dense deployment of femtocells in enterprise femtocell network and the small coverage of femtocells, handover in enterprise femtocell network will be frequent. The general handover key derivation method which is used in handover procedures in LTE is not suitable for handover in this scenario because of its long time cost and the weak security. To solve this problem, this paper has proposed a new local gateway assisted handover key derivation schema in enterprise femtocell network. It can meet the fast derivation and good forward/backward key secrecy requirement of handover key derivation in enterprise femtocell network. The simulation result has verified that the proposed handover key derivation schema works better than the existing method.

Abstract: By doing a questionnaire survey of the gratitude awareness situation among the students of one university in Guangzhou, we had an overview of the gratitude awareness of the students. Based on this survey, it is advocated that college students’ gratitude education should be promoted on the basis of Chinese traditional cultural education; disadvantaged students should be paid more attention; teachers should set good examples; and the gratitude education should be enriched to make it more social; etc.
