Equilibrium and Kinetic Studies of Cd2+ Biosorption by the Brown Algae Sargassum fusiforme

Abstract: A fundamental investigation of the biosorption of Cd2+ from aqueous solution by the edible seaweed Sargassum fusiforme was performed under batch conditions. The influences of experimental parameters, such as the initial pH, sorption time, temperature, and initial Cd2+ concentration, on Cd2+ uptake by S. fusiforme were evaluated. The results indicated that the biosorption of Cd2+ depended on the initial Cd2+ concentration, as well as the pH. The uptake of Cd2+ could be described by the Langmuir isotherm model, and both the Langmuir biosorption equilibrium constant and the maximum biosorption capacity of the monolayer decreased with increasing temperature, thereby confirming the exothermic character of the sorption process. The biosorption kinetics follows the pseudo-second-order kinetic model, and intraparticle diffusion is the sole rate-limiting step for the entire biosorption period. These fundamental equilibrium and kinetic results can support further studies to the removal of cadmium from S. fusiforme harvested from cadmium-polluted waters.

Abstract: The successful application of co-immobilized aerobic-anaerobic biomass under limited aeration in wastewater treatment systems would eliminate the problems associated with the intermediates mono-chlorophenol(MCP) and di-chlorophenol(DCP) accumulations. With low initial pentachlorophenol(PCP) concentration, all PCP could be completely removed under oxygen-limited strict anaerobic conditions, and the removal efficiencies with different initial headspace oxygen percentage(IHOP) were not obviously different from each other. While at high initial PCP concentration, under strictly anaerobic conditions PCP and their intermediates were clearly higher than that under other conditions, and produced obvious accumulation, the highest PCP reduction was achieved by the system receiving 30 IHOP, oxygen-limited system also exhibited lower residual TOC concentration and lower concentration of metabolic intermediates MCP and DCP. These results suggested that under strictly anaerobic condition the reductive dechlorination of low chlorinated compounds became rate limiting in the reductive dechlorination pathway, less chlorinated compounds be more amenable to aerobic degradation, and the aerobes of outer layers could function under limited oxygen. The co-immobilized aerobic-anaerobic biomass for methanogenesis under limited-aeration for chlorophenol degradation might be an attractive and efficient alternative for the sequential anaerobic/aerobic system to achieve mineralization of a broad range of recalcitrance highly chlorinated organics and low final TOC concentrations.
Properties of white organic electroluminescent devices based on a new organic metal complex with quantum well structure

Abstract: A series of white organic electroluminescent devices with a quantum well structure were fabricated based on a new type of organic metal complex bis(2-(4-trifluoromethyl-2-hydroxyphenyl) benzothiazolate) zinc (Zn(4-TfmBTZ)2) by electroplex at NPB/Zn(4-TfmBTZ)2 interface. The results show that the introduction of the hetero-junction quantum well structure can increase effectively the efficiency of electroplex emission, color rendering index(CRI),and the color coordination stability. The optimized device ITO/NPB (60 nm)/Zn(4-TfmBTZ)2(3.0 nm)/NPB (4.0 nm) /Zn(4-TfmBTZ)2(30 nm) /Alq3 (30 nm)/LiF(1.5 nm)/Al(150 nm) is obtained with color coordinates of (0.324, 0.337), the highest CRI of 92.5, a maximal brightness of 2013 cd/m2, and a maximal efficiency of 1.03 cd/A,. This device shows very high color stability when the driving voltage is varied from 10 V to 14 V.

Abstract: During investigation and identification of fungi from Wuyi Mountains, Fujian Province, Huangshan Mountains, Anhui Province and Kunyushan Mountains, Shandong Province, three new Chinese records of Phaeosphaeria were found. They are Phaeosphaeria humerata, P. marciensis and P. typharum. Phaeosphaeria are usually saprophytic on dead stems or other wood of monocotyledon of Poaceae, Cyperaceae and Juncus. In this paper, morphological characters, illustrations and discussions of the species are provided and the specimens were deposited at mycology laboratory of Qingdao Agricultural University (MHQAU).

Abstract: During investigation of saprophytic fungi on deadwoods collected from Shandong Peninsula, four new Chinese records of Leptosphaeria agnita, L. dumetorum, L. eustomoides and L. solani were found. In this paper, these species are described, illustrated and discussed, and a key to reported saprophytic species of Leptosphaeria from China is provided. The specimens are deposited in the Mycology Lab of Qingdao Agricultural University.

Abstract: 通过对南瓜白粉病病原菌的闭囊壳、分生孢子及萌发方式的观察和鉴别寄主感病反应鉴定,结果表明引起甘肃省武威地区南瓜白粉病的病原菌为苍耳单囊白粉菌Podosphaera xanthii。该白粉病菌闭囊壳形成的最适条件为温度20℃、相对湿度70%和光照强度4,400lx。寄主范围测定结果表明,该病菌不侵染丝瓜、小麦、辣椒、番茄、苜蓿、红三叶草、架豆和菜豆,可侵染除丝瓜之外的其余9种瓜类植物和绿豆、红小豆、向日葵,其中对南瓜、绿豆、西葫芦、红小豆、向日葵、甜瓜和黄瓜的致病性最强,发病率均达到100%,病情指数分别为15.56、14.51、13.33、13.33、13.07、12.22和12.22。侵染过程观察发现,感病南瓜人工接种白粉菌12h后,分生孢子芽管从侧面萌发,于24h芽管伸长,于36h形成菌丝,于72h形成稠密的网状菌丝,于96h形成分生孢子梗及串生分生孢子。

Abstract: 摘要 目的:探讨应用保留血管蒂Abbe瓣修复双侧唇裂患者术后继发鼻唇畸形的方法及其临床效果。方法:选取双侧唇裂术后继发鼻唇畸形患者10例,由同一医师应用保留血管蒂Abbe瓣对其进行修复,测量术前术后患者鼻唇部的6项指标并分析,评估患者术后的效果及鼻唇部对称性。结果:患者术后均一期愈合,术后人中长度平均增加3.93 mm,人中宽度平均降低3.93 mm,全鼻宽平均降低1.69 mm,有显著统计学差异,上唇对称率达到97.29%,患者术后唇鼻外形恢复良好,接近正常。结论:应用保留血管蒂Abbe瓣修复双侧唇裂术后继发畸形效果良好,可以显著改善唇鼻形态和对称性,适合广泛应用于临床

Abstract: 摘要 目的:探讨对偶三角瓣联合口轮匝肌解剖复位法在单侧面横裂矫正术中的临床应用。方法:回顾性总结2013~2016年运用对偶三角瓣联合口轮匝肌解剖复位法矫正单侧面横裂畸形的12例病例。结果:所有病例获随访6月~3年, 静态和动态时口角外形基本与对侧对称。各项指标术前及术后的比较结果表明术后口角对称性得到了良好的恢复。1例患者术后3年复诊,患侧口角与健侧对称。结论:运用对偶三角瓣联合口轮匝肌解剖复位法矫正单侧面横裂可以恢复面横裂患者口角的形态与功能,术后远期效果良好

Abstract: Cultivation of aerobic granular sludge for pentachlorophenol (PCP) degradation under microaerobic condition (DO concentration was controlled at 0.2-0.7 mg/L) was studied in this paper. Anaerobic granules were selected as inoculum. The changes of appearance were observed and the variations of SVI, VSS/TSS, PN/PS and the size of sludge were measured during cultivating. The capabilities for degradation of PCP, AOX and COD(Cr) were also studied. Observations on mature granules were carried out by scanning electron microscope, and the results indicated bacillus was dominant on the surface of granules while in the inner of granules both bacillus and coccus were the dominant microorganisms. K, Na, Fe, Ca, Mg, Ni, Co, Mn, Cu and Zn were detected in the granules by element analysis.

Abstract: A 2-D experiment model was used for modeling oil migration and accumulation in the East Liaodong area. The results show that: (1) The moving pattern of oil in the fault zone has great influence on the oil migration pathway. (2) The 3 unconformities have different transporting capacity for oil in different injection conditions. Oil migrated in the unconformity 1 between Ng2 and Ed under the continuous or impulsive injection conditions. The other two unconformities (the unconformity 2 and the unconformity 3) had lateral transporting capacity only when impulsive injection took place. (3) Oil accumulation in the sandbody of Dongying formation depends on its relationship with other passage systems. The pinchout sandbody connecting with the oil source fault is most conducive to the formation lithological reservoirs.
