Chaos synchronization between the Sprott-B and Sprott-C with linear coupling

Abstract: The Sprott-B and Sprott-C are topologically equivalent but they have distinct structures. Chaos synchronization is realized between the two systems via linear coupling of systemic variable. Based on Lyapunov stability theory, the threshold value of coupling coefficients for synchronization of two systems is derived. The practical circuit is designed to realize chaos synchronization between the two systems and the experimental result verifies the conclusion. A new method for secure communication, which can increase the security of a communication system is proposed based on chaos synchronization between the above systems.
Synchronization in the Genesio-Tesi and Coullet systems with nonlinear feedback controlling

Abstract: The characteristics of the Genesio-Tesi and Coullet systems are analyzed. Two systems are topologically inequivalent, but they have similarity in the strange attractor structure. Chaos synchronization between the two systems is realized via nonlinear feedback control. The nonlinear feedback controller is designed based on the stability theory, and the area of feedback gain is taken. The simulation result verifies the conclusion.

Abstract: In the title coordination polymer, [Ag(C14H8NO2)]n, the AgI cation is coordinated by two O atoms and one N atom from two symmetry-related acridine-9-carboxylate ligands in a distorted trigonal-planar geometry. The metal atoms are connected by the ligands to form chains running parallel to the b axis. π–π stacking interactions [centroid-to-centroid distances 3.757 (2)–3.820 (2) ] and weak Ag...O interactions further link the chains to form a layer network parallel to the ab plane. The AgI cation is disordered over two positions, with refined site-occupancy factors of 0.73 (3):0.27 (3).

Abstract: The asymmetric unit of the title compound, [Cd3(C8H5N2O2)2(SO4)2(H2O)3]n, contains three CdII ions, two sulfate anions, two 1H-benzimidazole-5-carboxylate (H2bic) ligands and three coordinated water molecules. One CdII ion is six-coordinated and exhibits a distorted octahedral geometry, while the other two CdII ions are seven-coordinated, displaying a distorted pentagonal–bipyramidal geometry. The CdII ions are bridged by two types of sulfate anions, producing inorganic chains along [100]. These chains are further connected by the H2bic ligands, leading to a three-dimensional framework. N—H...O and O—H...O hydrogen bonds and π–π interactions between the imidazole and benzene rings [centroid–centroid distances = 3.953 (2), 3.507 (2), 3.407 (2) and 3.561 (2) ] further stabilize the crystal structure.

Abstract: In the title compound, C15H18ClNO4S, the thiazolidine ring adopts a twisted conformation about the S—C(methylene) bond. The dihedral angle between the five- and six-membered rings is 77.2 (3)°. In the crystal, the molecules are linked by O—H...O hydrogen bonds, generating C(7) chains propagating in [100].
An adaptive method for simultaneous image super-resolution and motion estimation based on nonlinear least square

Abstract: Image super-resolution(SR) reconstruction refers to a signal processing approach which produces high-resolution images from observed multiple low-resolution images A new method for simultaneous image super-resolution and motion estimation is proposed to expand the application range of SR technology. The framework of SR resolution and motion estimation is given based on maximum a posteriori (MAP). The framework takes into account both the influence of HR image dispersion between two iterations, and the weight of different LR images, which makes the algorithm self-adapting. The framework then can turn to SR resolution and motion estimation model. Nonlinear least squares method is employed to solve the model to get the global motion area of SR resolution. Our experimental results show the effectiveness of the proposed algorithm.
Signal Compression Based on Optimal Wavelet and SQP

Abstract: To choose optimal wavelet for given compression signal, a new method to match 1D and 2D signals was proposed. In this method, the given signal was projected to its wavelet subspace based on the theory of multi-resolution decomposition. The projection was minimized and then the formula of optimal wavelet filter could be gained. In the end, the optimal wavelet for given system was calculated using SQP. Experiments show its validity. The results also indicate that signal compression with optimal wavelet has a better efficiency than with D-8 and other familiar wavelets under the same compressed proportion.
Weighted Adaptive Face Recognition Based on Class Matrix and Feature Fusion

Abstract: A new weighted adaptive algorithm of face recognition based on class matrix and feature fusion was proposed. Firstly, global features and local features of six key parts of faces were extracted respectively. Dynamic method of how to choose the weights of local features was given. Different weights could be gained for different training sets according to this method. So, the adaptive ability of algorithm was enhanced. Then, global and local features were fused with weights to get the eigen-matrix of samples. Secondly, a new weighted principal component analysis (PCA) method was designed to lower dimension for sample matrixes. Thirdly, the concept of class matrix was proposed, and formula of how to obtain the class matrix was given and proved. According to class matrix, a new projected rule was given. Finally, class matrix and tested samples were projected respectively through the proposed rules. Then, the final class that tested faces belonged to was declared according to the Euclidean distance. Experiments show that the proposed algorithm can deal with small sample problems in LDA effectively, and the results also indicate that it has good performance on speed and recognition rate.
Hydrogen storage properties of MgH2 co-catalyzed by LaH3 and NbH

Abstract: To improve the hydrogen storage properties of Mg-based alloys, a composite material of MgH2 + 10wt%LaH3 + 10wt%NbH was prepared by a mechanical milling method. The composite exhibited favorable hydrogen desorption properties, releasing 0.67wt% H2 within 20 min at 548 K, which was ascribed to the co-catalytic effect of LaH3 and NbH upon dehydriding of MgH2. By contrast, pure MgH2, an MgH2 + 20wt%LaH3 composite, and an MgH2 + 20wt%NbH composite only released 0.1wt%, 0.28wt%, and 0.57wt% H2, respectively, under the same conditions. Analyses by X-ray diffraction and scanning electron microscopy showed that the composite particle size was small. Energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopic mapping demonstrated that La and Nb were distributed homogeneously in the matrix. Differential thermal analysis revealed that the dehydriding peak temperature of the MgH2 + 10wt%LaH3 + 10wt%NbH composite was 595.03 K, which was 94.26 K lower than that of pure MgH2. The introduction of LaH3 and NbH was beneficial to the hydrogen storage performance of MgH2.
Enhanced electrochemical properties of LaFeO3 with Ni modification for MH–Ni batteries

Abstract: In this work, we synthesized LaFeO3–xwt%Ni (x = 0, 5, 10, 15) composites via a solid-state reaction method by adding Ni to the reactants, La2O3 and Fe2O3. Field-emission scanning electron microscopy (FE-SEM) and energy-dispersive X-ray spectroscopy (EDS) results revealed that Ni powders evenly dispersed among the LaFeO3 particles and apparently reduced their aggregation, which imparted the composites with a loose structure. Moreover, the Ni formed a conductive network, thus improving the conductivity of the composites. The maximum discharge capacity of the LaFeO3 electrodes remarkably increased from 266.8 mAh·g–1 (x = 0) to 339.7 mAh·g–1 (x = 10). In particular, the high-rate dischargeability of the LaFeO3–10wt%Ni electrode at a discharge current density of 1500 mA·g?1 reached 54.6%, which was approximately 1.5 times higher than that of the pure LaFeO3. Such a Ni-modified loose structure not only increased the charge transfer rate on the surface of the LaFeO3 particles but also enhanced the hydrogen diffusion rate in the bulk LaFeO3.
