Abstract: One of the approaches to the treatment of infections caused by multiply-(MDR) or extra drug- resistant (XDR) pathogenic strains may be application of bacterial viruses (bacteriophages)— phage therapy. Results of a long, but quite limited use of phage therapy in several Eastern European countries, as well as experiments on animal models in Western countries support the possibility to use phage therapy. However, given the role of phages in the evolution of bacterial pathogens, it is necessary to discuss and evaluate negative consequences of mass introduction of phage therapy, as the measures necessary for its safe use. We discuss some actions in case of transiting to world-wide use of phage therapy with purpose to prolong the active life of phage therapy and to diminish possible complications.
Characterization and performances of new indium loaded organic liquid scintillators, based on novel indium carboxilate compounds

Abstract: A novel formulation to dope organic liquid scintillators (OLS) with indium at concentrations up to 10% is presented: it is based on specific indium carboxylate compounds adequately synthesized. The produced In-OLS has been characterized: it has light yield 8500 ph/MeV at indium concentration 5.5% and light attenuation length of 2,5 m at wavelength of 430 nm. The scintillator properties were stable during all time of investigation (~ 1 years). The produced In-OLS is compared to other In-OLS formulations and shows superior performances. The developed methodic to metal dope OLS can be easily extended to other metals as Gd, Nd, Cd.

Abstract: Rare-earth (Yb/Gd) complexes with neutral organophosphorus ligands are briefly discussed for their application in liquid scintillation technique. To evaluate the principle feasibility of a high rare-earth loaded scintillator, the ytterbium chloride complexes with tri-isoamylphosphine oxides were synthesized. Relative scintillation efficiency (RSE) for two Yb concentrations (78 and 88 g/L) was measured by means of the internal conversion electron exitation from Cs-137. The results obtained were 50 and 40% respectively.
A novel String Banana Template Method for Tracks Reconstruction in High Multiplicity Events with significant Multiple Scattering and its Firmware Implementation

Abstract: Novel String Banana Template Method (SBTM) for track reconstruction in difficult conditions is proposed and implemented for off-line analysis of relativistic heavy ion collision events. The main idea of the method is in use of features of ensembles of tracks selected by 3-fold coincidence. Two steps model of track is used: the first one - averaged over selected ensemble and the second - per event dependent. It takes into account Multiple Scattering (MS) for this particular track. SBTM relies on use of stored templates generated by precise Monte Carlo simulation, so it's more time efficient for the case of 2D spectrometer. All data required for track reconstruction in such difficult conditions could be prepared in convenient format for fast use. Its template based nature and the fact that the SBTM track model is actually very close to the hits implies that it can be implemented in a firmware processor. In this report a block diagram of firmware based pre-processor for track reconstruction in CMS-like Si tracker is proposed.
The Change in the Parameters of Blood Plasma Infrared Spectra of Animals-carriers of Tumours against the Background of Dietary Supplement Administration

Abstract: The aim of the investigation is to study the dynamics of blood plasma IR-spectra parameters of animals-carriers of tumours against the background of dietary supplement administration. Materials and Methods. White non-pedigree male rats (n=30) with Pliss lymphosarcoma (РL) have been administered the solutions of the substances under test (amber acid, oligosaccharide chitosan succinate, oligosaccharide chitosan succinate-ascorbate) by probe into the stomach in a dose of 100 mg per kg of an animal’s mass, within seven days starting with the 6th day after strain transplantation. For IR-spectrum parameters there have been taken particular values resulted from the division of absorption bands peaks heights by each other: X=1165/1070, Y=1165/1150, Z=1165/1125.Results. The change of blood plasma infrared spectra (p ? 0.05) has showed that in tumour carriers the content of glucose in blood plasma increases. The administration of amber acid and its derivatives contributes to the accumulation of glucose, as well as monophosphates (AMP, etc) and the reduction of nucleoside triphosphates (ATP, GTP and others), that can be explained by energy imbalance in animals-carriers of tumours, being potentially dangerous and contributing to the acceleration of tumour growth.

Abstract: This paper focuses on the trends of a comparative analysis of statistical parameters of physical development of rural and urban school children in the Nizhniy Novgorod region. The results indicate that, against the background of the persistence of basic characteristics of growth processes in children and adolescents of the Nizhniy Novgorod region, both favourable (total body parameters of rural girls are close to those of urban ones, the high value of VC in rural children, increased carpal dynamometry values) and unfavourable (development disharmonisation, in particular, through an increase in the number of overweight children, susceptibility to hypertension and tachycardia in the city) changes in the physical development of modern school children are taking place.

Abstract: We analyze an advanced two-spring model with an ultra-low effective tip mass to predict nontrivial and physically rich 'fine structure' in the atomic stick-slip motion in Friction Force Microscopy (FFM) experiments. We demonstrate that this fine structure is present in recent, puzzling experiments. This shows that the tip apex can be completely or partially delocalized, thus shedding new light on what is measured in FFM and, possibly, what can happen with the asperities that establish the contact between macroscopic sliding bodies.

Abstract:

The quantum field theory approach has been proposed for the description of graphene electronic properties. It generalizes massless Dirac fermion model and is based on the Dirac-Hartree-Fock self-consistent field approximation and assumption on antiferromagnetic ordering of graphene lattice. The developed approach allows asymmetric charged carriers in single layer graphene with partially degenerated Dirac cones.
