Journal of the Chilean Chemical Society , 2010, DOI: 10.4067/S0717-97072010000100004
Abstract: this structure is related to synthesis of new polythiophene derivatives. their most interesting aspects are to be found in their interatomic interactions, of varied type (c-h ? o, c-h ? π, π ? π) and strength. in the title compound c12h10o2s there are two independent molecules per asymmetric unit but unlike the former one (where interatomic interactions do not "mix" them), herein both types of independent molecules are interlinked through h-bonding interactions to form broad strips along [010], four molecules in width and displaying a zig-zag pattern. these structures fit into each other along the [100] direction, in a "gear-like" fashion, giving raise to some π - π contacts.

Abstract: nursing education has been immersed in the historical development of society and related variables-economic, social and political-that have influenced its development. thus, to understand the present it is imperative to look to its past. this past shows us that nursing has evolved from a craft to a profession, but unlike other professions which since the beginning of the university have been constructed as such, nursing had to wait a long time to be taught at universities, which arose as human societies become more complex. people are required to learn a practice supported by a technique and even a theory on how to do it, and methods are needed to convey the knowledge. this requirement means that education is intentional, systematic and organized, which is influential in the creation of the university and later in the training of nurses. the following is a literature review of training for nurse practitioners of the bolivarian republic of venezuela.
LA OPCIóN DE MODIFICACIóN SUSTANCIAL DEL RéGIMEN SALARIAL. NOVEDADES Y REFLEXIONES A PROPóSITO DE LAS úLTIMAS REFORMAS EN ESPA A
Fernando MORENO DE VEGA Y LOMO
Effects of Mass Media action on the Axelrod Model with Social Influence
Arezky H. Rodríguez,Y. Moreno
Physics , 2010, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevE.82.016111
Abstract: The use of {\it dyadic interaction} between agents, in combination with {\it homophily} (the principle that ``likes attract'') in the Axelrod model for the study of cultural dissemination has two important problems: the prediction of monoculture in large societies and an extremely narrow window of noise levels in which diversity with local convergence is obtained. Recently, the inclusion of {\it social influence} has proven to overcome them (A. Flache and M. W. Macey, arXiv:0808.2710). Here we extend the Axelrod model with social influence interaction for the study of Mass Media effects through the inclusion of a super-agent which acts over the whole system and has nonnull overlap with each agent of the society. The dependence with different parameters as the initial social diversity, size effects, Mass Media strength and noise is outlined. Our results might be relevant in several socio-economic contexts and for the study of the emergence of collective behavior in complex social systems.
Traffic-driven Epidemic Spreading in Finite-size Scale-Free Networks
S. Meloni,A. Arenas,Y. Moreno
Physics , 2009, DOI: 10.1073/pnas.0907121106
Abstract: The study of complex networks sheds light on the relation between the structure and function of complex systems. One remarkable result is the absence of an epidemic threshold in infinite-size scale-free networks, which implies that any infection will perpetually propagate regardless of the spreading rate. The vast majority of current theoretical approaches assumes that infections are transmitted as a reaction process from nodes to all neighbors. Here we adopt a different perspective and show that the epidemic incidence is shaped by traffic flow conditions. Specifically, we consider the scenario in which epidemic pathways are defined and driven by flows. Through extensive numerical simulations and theoretical predictions, it is shown that the value of the epidemic threshold in scale-free networks depends directly on flow conditions, in particular on the first and second moments of the betweenness distribution given a routing protocol. We consider the scenarios in which the delivery capability of the nodes is bounded or unbounded. In both cases, the threshold values depend on the traffic and decrease as flow increases. Bounded delivery provokes the emergence of congestion, slowing down the spreading of the disease and setting a limit for the epidemic incidence. Our results provide a general conceptual framework to understand spreading processes on complex networks.
Spreading of Persistent Infections in Heterogeneous Populations
J. Sanz,L. M. Floria,Y. Moreno
Quantitative Biology , 2010, DOI: 10.1103/PhysRevE.81.056108
Abstract: Up to now, the effects of having heterogeneous networks of contacts have been studied mostly for diseases which are not persistent in time, i.e., for diseases where the infectious period can be considered very small compared to the lifetime of an individual. Moreover, all these previous results have been obtained for closed populations, where the number of individuals does not change during the whole duration of the epidemics. Here, we go one step further and analyze, both analytically and numerically, a radically different kind of diseases: those that are persistent and can last for an individual's lifetime. To be more specific, we particularize to the case of Tuberculosis' (TB) infection dynamics, where the infection remains latent for a period of time before showing up and spreading to other individuals. We introduce an epidemiological model for TB-like persistent infections taking into account the heterogeneity inherent to the population structure. This sort of dynamics introduces new analytical and numerical challenges that we are able to sort out. Our results show that also for persistent diseases the epidemic threshold depends on the ratio of the first two moments of the degree distribution so that it goes to zero in a class of scale-free networks when the system approaches the thermodynamic limit.
ELECTROCHEMICAL AND COMPUTATIONAL STUDY OF COPPER (II) ALKYLPYRAZOLONE BASED ENAMINE COMPLEX
MORENO,Y; BELMAR,J; BROVELLI,F; BULJAN,A; PE?A,O; MORENO,L;
Journal of the Chilean Chemical Society , 2008, DOI: 10.4067/S0717-97072008000400011
Abstract: the cyclic voltammograms (cv) of the copper complex cul2, l: c19h26n30 [1-(n-hexyl)-3-methyl-4-[1-phenylaminopropylidene]-2-pyrazolin-5-one] have been studied. the cv profiles of cul2 show one or two reduction and oxidation wave. the energy level corresponding to the highest occupied molecular orbital (homo) and the lowest unoccupied molecular orbital (lumo) of cul2 have been determined experimentally from the first oxidation and reduction onset potential, respectively. these valúes were also estimated from density functional calculations. the electrochemical energy gap deduced from these measurements (eg~1.03 ev) agrees quite well with the theoretical value.

Abstract: the new iron-thiolate complex [cpfe(dppe)sc6h4oh]pf6 (1), prepared by the oxidative addition of cpfe(dppe)i (2) to hsc6h4oh (3), reacts in one step with n3p3cl6 (4) in acetone to give the hexanuclear iron-triolate complex n3p3[cpfe(dppe)sc6 h4o]6 (5), the first cyclotriphosphazene containing thiolate groups coordinated to a metal. electrochemical data suggest the absence of electronic communication between the iron centers. magnetic properties for the new complexes are discussed
