Abstract: The lifetime of heart pacemaker is important for patient and researcher. To forecast the lifetime of heart pacemakers we must determine its distribution regularity. In this paper, a heart pacemaker wear life model is introduced by using frequency property, and a life distribution is presented. The parametric properties of the density are studied. The moment estimator with negative order is used, which is just the maximum likelihood estimator. A new method of parameter estimate, F estimate of parameter, is proposed. This method is suitable to both truncated samples and complete samples, whether or not the distribution can be transformed into a standard distribution without any parameters.
High Current Matching over Full-Swing and Low-Glitch Charge Pump Circuit for PLLs

Abstract: A high current matching over full-swing and low-glitch charge pump (CP) circuit is proposed. The current of the CP is split into two identical branches having one-half the original current. The two branches are connected in source-coupled structure, and a two-stage amplifier is used to regulate the common-source voltage for the minimum current mismatch. The proposed CP is designed in TSMC 0.18μm CMOS technology with a power supply of 1.8 V. SpectreRF based simulation results show the mismatch between the current source and the current sink is less than 0.1% while the current is 40 μA and output swing is 1.32 V ranging from 0.2 V to 1.52 V. Moreover, the transient output current presents nearly no glitches. The simulation results verify the usage of the CP in PLLs with the maximum tuning range from the voltage-controlled oscillator, as well as the low power supply applications.
A Novel RFS Broadcasting Scheme for VBR-Encoded Videos

Abstract: The existing periodic broadcasting schemes mainly support CBR-encoded videos. A modification of recursive frequency-splitting (RFS) scheme, called v-RFS, is presented in this paper to support VBR-encoded videos. In v-RFS, the maximum number and the placement of segments are determined by using the RFS. Then the VBR video is partitioned into a series of segments with equal-length, and these segments are further partitioned into multiple equal-size sub-segments. Finally sub-segments of different segments are multiplexed and transmitted periodically on their channels. The proposed scheme can deliver all segments on time at constant transmission rate. Simulation results indicated that the proposed scheme outperforms RFS and Smooth RFS in improving bandwidth efficiency and reducing client storage.

Abstract: 基于传统算法,提出了一种新的用来检测融解变换的系统。该算法改进了像素点密度帧差、给出了像素均差、像素相似度的特征,并且提出了将融解渐变分为超短渐变、长渐变和短渐变的分类检测方法。改进后的像素点密度帧差降低了全局噪声,像素均差、像素相似度在融解渐变的检测中表现出了良好的特性。实验证明,分类检测的思想,分离了原本容易混淆的超短渐变与切变、闪光,提高了检测的召回率和精度。
Color Texture Image Inpainting Using the Non Local CTV Model  [PDF]

The classical TV (Total Variation) model has been applied to gray texture image denoising and inpainting previously based on the non local operators, but such model can not be directly used to color texture image inpainting due to coupling of different image layers in color images. In order to solve the inpainting problem for color texture images effectively, we propose a non local CTV (Color Total Variation) model. Technically, the proposed model is an extension of local TV model for gray images but we take account of the coupling of different layers in color images and make use of concepts of the non-local operators. As the coupling of different layers for color images in the proposed model will in-crease computational complexity, we also design a fast Split Bregman algorithm. Finally, some numerical experiments are conducted to validate the performance of the proposed model and its algorithm.

New Analysis and Design of a RF Rectifier for RFID and Implantable Devices

Abstract: New design and optimization of charge pump rectifiers using diode-connected MOS transistors is presented in this paper. An analysis of the output voltage and Power Conversion Efficiency (PCE) is given to guide and evaluate the new design. A novel diode-connected MOS transistor for UHF rectifiers is presented and optimized, and a high efficiency N-stage charge pump rectifier based on this new diode-connected MOS transistor is designed and fabricated in a SMIC 0.18-μm 2P3M CMOS embedded EEPROM process. The new diode achieves 315 mV turn-on voltage and 415 nA reverse saturation leakage current. Compared with the traditional rectifier, the one based on the proposed diode-connected MOS has higher PCE, higher output voltage and smaller ripple coefficient. When the RF input is a 900-MHz sinusoid signal with the power ranging from ?15 dBm to ?4 dBm, PCEs of the charge pump rectifier with only 3-stage are more than 30%, and the maximum output voltage is 5.5 V, and its ripple coefficients are less than 1%. Therefore, the rectifier is especially suitableto passive UHF RFID tag IC and implantable devices.

Influence of structural parameters on the immunity of short-channel effects in grooved-gate nMOSFET

Abstract: This paper presents the influences of structural parameters on the immunity of short-channel effects in grooved-gate n-channel metal-oxide-semiconductor field effect transistor (nMOSFET) using the simulator PISCES-II. The zero or negative groove-junction depth is beneficial to the improvement of the threshold characters, but there exists a limited range. The doping concentration of both substrate and channel has a significant influence on the threshold characters as well as on the device transconductance. Thus, the variation in these adjustable parameters may help to optimize the device design.
Edge-based Algorithm of Real-time Image Resizing

Abstract: Due to their complexity,traditional edge-based algorithms of image interpolation are hardly used for real-time image processing.And non-edge based interpolation algorithms usually lead to the target images blurring because of their low-pass effect,so the visual effect of the interpolated images is unpleasant.In this paper,a novel adaptive edge-based algorithm of image interpolation is proposed to eliminate the defect.According to the second-order difference of the consecutive pixels,the source pixel group is automatically selected to compute the corresponding target pixel gray value.Several algorithms of image scaling are implemented in Matlab.Then the visual appearance and the edges of target images are compared,and the complexity of the algorithms is analyzed.The implementation circuit architecture for our proposed algorithm is devised and the algorithm is realized by Verilog HDL.Finally,the synthesized code is verified by downloading to FPGA on the evaluated board.The results show that our proposed algorithm achieves vivid edges of target images,and has lower computation complexity and easy for hardware implementation.So the algorithm can effectively interpolate images and adapts to real-time image resizing.
