Abstract: The nonlinear Landau-Zener tunneling and nonlinear Rabi oscillations of Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) with higher-order atomic interaction between the Bloch bands in an accelerating optical lattice are discussed. Within the two-level model, the tunneling probability of BEC with higher-order atomic interaction between Bloch bands is obtained. We finds that the tunneling rate is closely related to the higher-order atomic interaction. Furthermore, the nonlinear Rabi oscillations of BEC with higher-order atomic interaction between the bands are discussed by imposing a periodic modulation on the level bias. Analytical expressions of the critical higher-order atomic interaction for suppressing/enhancing the Rabi oscillations are obtained. It is shown that the critical value strongly depends on the modulation parameters (i.e., the modulation amplitude and frequency) and the strength of periodic potential.
The instability of dust acoustic waves in inhomogeneous dusty plasmas with non-adiabatic dust charge fluctuation

Abstract: This paper investigates the propagation of linear dust acoustic waves in inhomogeneous dusty plasmas due to spatial gradients of dust charge, plasma densities. A linear dispersion relation is obtained with the non-adiabatic dust charge fluctuation and the non-thermally distributed ions. The numerical results show that the inhomogeneity, non-thermal ions and non-adiabatic dust charge fluctuation have strong influence on the frequency and the damping rate of waves.
Interaction of solitary waves in magnetized warm dusty plasmas with dust charging effects

Abstract: In consideration of adiabatic dust charge variation, the combined effect of the external magnetized field and the dust temperature on head-on collision of the three-dimensional dust acoustic solitary waves is investigated. By using the extended Poincar\'e--Lighthill--Kuo method, the phase shifts and the trajectories of two solitons after the collision are obtained. The effects of the magnitude and the obliqueness of the external magnetic field and the dust temperature on the solitary wave collisions are discussed in detail.
Critical rotation of an anharmonically trapped Bose--Einstein condensate

Abstract: We consider rotational motion of an interacting atomic Bose-Einstein condensate (BEC) with both two- and three-body interactions in a quadratic-plus-quartic and harmonic-plus-Gaussian trap. By using the variational method, the influence of the three-body interaction and the anharmonicity of the trap on the lowest energy surface mode excitation and the spontaneous shape deformation (responsible for the vortex formation) in a rotating BEC is discussed in detail. It is found that the repulsive three-body interaction helps the formation of the vortex and reduces the lowest energy surface mode frequency and the critical rotational frequency of the system. Moreover, the critical rotational frequency for the vortex formation in the harmonic-plus-Gaussian potential is lower than that in the quadratic-plus-quartic potential.
Self-Trapping of Bose-Einstein Condensates in an Optical Lattice: the Effect of the System Dimension

Abstract: In the present paper, we investigate the dynamics of a Bose-Einstein condensates (BEC) loaded into an deep optical lattice of 1D, 2D and 3D, both analytically and numerically. We focus on the self-trapping state and the effect of the system dimension. Under the tight-binding approximation we obtain an analytical criterion for the self-trapping state of BEC using time-dependent variational method. The phase diagram for self-trapping, soliton, breather, or diffusion of the BEC cloud is obtained accordingly and verified by directly solving the discrete Gross-Pitaevskii equation (GPE) numerically. In particular, we find that the criterion and the phase diagrams are modified dramatically by the dimension of the lattices.

Abstract: 研究了平面Bessel型光晶格(BL)中双组分玻色-爱因斯坦凝聚(BECs)体系的基态解.从描述三维(3D)BECs体系的动力学方程Gross-Pitaevskii方程(GPE)出发,当垂直方向囚禁频率远大于平面上囚禁频率时,得到了描述2D-BECs体系的动力学方程.利用双组分BECs体系中原子之间相互作用与BL强度相互平衡的条件,得到了平面BL光晶格中2D-GPE的一组基态精确解,给出了基态的原子数分布,总原子数和能量与原子之间相互作用强度及BL势的关系.相对于单组分BEC体系,由于不同组分原子相互作用的存在,使得BL光晶格中双组分BECs基态具有更丰富的结构.当不存在不同组分原子之间的相互作用时,模型简化到单组分体系,并给出了相应的基态解,原子数分布和能量.

Abstract: We present an analytical study on the dynamics of bright and dark solitons in Bose--Einstein condensates with time-varying atomic scattering length in a time-varying external parabolic potential. A set of exact soliton solutions ofthe one-dimensional Gross--Pitaevskii equation are obtained, including fundamental bright solitons, higher-order bright solitons, and dark solitons. The results show that the soliton's parameters (amplitude, width, and period) can be changed in a controllable manner by changing the scattering length and external potential. This may be helpful to design experiments.

Abstract: We investigate the nonlinear Landau--Zener tunnelling of Bose--Einstein condensate (BEC) in an accelerating optical lattice with two- and three-body interactions between the particles. The influence of the three-body interaction on the eigenstates and the transition probability are discussed bothanalytically and numerically. The analytical eigenstates and the tunnelling probability are obtained, which are verified by numerical methods. It is shown that the eigenstates and the tunnelling probability are modified dramatically by three-body interaction.

Abstract: The transition temperature, the depletion of the condensate atoms and the collective excitations of a Bose-Einstein condensation (BEC) with two- and three-body interactions in an anharmonic trap at finite temperature are studied in detail. By using the Popov version of the Hartree-Fock-Bogoliubov (HFB) approximation, an extended self-consistent model describing BEC with both two- and three-body interactions in a distorted harmonic potential at finite temperature is obtained and solved numerically. The results show that the transition temperature, the condensed atom number and the collective excitations are modified dramatically by the atomic three-body interactions and the distortion of the harmonic trap.
