International Journal of Intelligent Systems and Applications , 2011,
Abstract: It is significant to scientifically carry out the urban earthquake disaster reduction. According to the features of China urban earthquake disaster reduction, this paper designed the urban earthquake disaster reduction information management system, which proposed a system design idea, system composition and function structure. The system adopted the object-oriented language VB6.0 and the component set ArcGIS Engine provided by ESRI for development. We applied a variety of information techniques (GIS and database) for spatial information acquisition, analysis and computing, and drew up function modules corresponding to inquiry, spatial analysis, risk analysis and data management. By using this system we can achieve scientific management about the earthquake disaster information in storage and transportation engineering, draw up kinds of earthquake emergency decisions intellectually and make them visual, which improved the efficiency and velocity of earthquake emergency evidently, and assisted the decision-making system effectively for the earthquake emergency work .
Foreign Entry and Multi-Period Bank Competition Based on Collateral View  [PDF]
Xudong Chen
Journal of Financial Risk Management (JFRM) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/jfrm.2013.21001

This paper constructs the multi-period model of spatial bank competition between the local bank and the foreign bank with financing cost (efficiency) advantage, the results show that: 1) when the amount of the high risk borrowers in the marker reaches a threshold, both banks will use collateral as screening device to distinguish different risk borrowers, only low risk borrowers will borrow money from the bank; 2) the space distance (production differentiation) can help local bank confront the foreign banks cost (efficiency) advantage. Further comparative static analysis shows: the bank’s profit decreases with its financing cost, and the bank will require higher loan rate and less collateral with its financing cost increasing; Decreasing transaction cost and better legal environment will facilitate the bank to require more collateral and lower loan rate.

Stationary Analysis of Geo/Geo/1 Queue with Two-Speed Service and the Optimal Switching Threshold for the Service Rate  [PDF]

Applied Mathematics (AM) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/am.2015.66083
Abstract: This paper considers a Geo/Geo/1 queueing system with infinite capacity, in which the service rate changes depending on the workload. Initially, when the number of customers in the system is less than a certain threshold L, low service rate is provided for cost saving. On the other hand, the high service rate is activated as soon as L customers accumulate in the system and such service rate is preserved until the system becomes completely empty even if the number of customers falls below L. The steady-state probability distribution and the expected number of customers in the system are derived. Through the first-step argument, a recursive algorithm for computing the first moment of the conditional sojourn time is obtained. Furthermore, employing the results of regeneration cycle analysis, the direct search method is also implemented to determine the optimal value of L for minimizing the long-run average cost rate function.

Open Journal of Social Sciences (JSS) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/jss.2017.55023
Abstract: Since 18th CPC National Congress, the anti-corruption campaign shows a new political life in China. Based on the data from 2015 to July 2016, this paper analyzes the effectiveness and trend of the implementation of the eight provisions from the following three perspectives. The number of violations of cadres and their administrative level was significantly negatively correlated. The main purpose of the eight provisions is to build a low administrative level of anti-corruption strategy. The township level cadres are the main target group of rectification education. All the experiences and lessons of the rectification movement are a valuable heritage of the purity and style of the party construction, and the eight provisions have the characteristics that are precise, scientific and sustainable, and transform the old constraints, old ideas. The psychology of “governance” and “change” reflects the affirmation of social groups to fight against corruption. The eight provisions as a valuable monitoring resource should achieve the optimal allocation and maximize the social marginal benefit. The Power of Chinese government and the activity has consisted. They are willing to make a difference. Members of the Political Bureau are the third energy of Chinese reform or economy.
Battling the Internet Water Army: Detection of Hidden Paid Posters
Cheng Chen,Kui Wu,Venkatesh Srinivasan,Xudong Zhang
Computer Science , 2011,
Abstract: We initiate a systematic study to help distinguish a special group of online users, called hidden paid posters, or termed "Internet water army" in China, from the legitimate ones. On the Internet, the paid posters represent a new type of online job opportunity. They get paid for posting comments and new threads or articles on different online communities and websites for some hidden purposes, e.g., to influence the opinion of other people towards certain social events or business markets. Though an interesting strategy in business marketing, paid posters may create a significant negative effect on the online communities, since the information from paid posters is usually not trustworthy. When two competitive companies hire paid posters to post fake news or negative comments about each other, normal online users may feel overwhelmed and find it difficult to put any trust in the information they acquire from the Internet. In this paper, we thoroughly investigate the behavioral pattern of online paid posters based on real-world trace data. We design and validate a new detection mechanism, using both non-semantic analysis and semantic analysis, to identify potential online paid posters. Our test results with real-world datasets show a very promising performance.
New Dynamic of China National Governance since the 18th National Congress—Based on the Inspecting Spots of the Politburo’s Standing Committee  [PDF]

Open Journal of Political Science (OJPS) , 2017, DOI: 10.4236/ojps.2017.72018
Abstract: Based on the Axial Coding from the inspecting spots and themes of the members of the Political Bureau in 2013-2016, this article is intended to explore the recent trends of national governance after 18th CPC National Congress. The Chinese politburo’s standing committee members have been to all provinces in China, however, the visiting spots and themes are unbalanced. In order to achieve governance objectives, they have to think about the national policy and the particularity of each province. All the politburo’s standing committee members have been paid more attention on decentralization and innovation. As we can see, the decentralization of authority between government and market has constituted strategic consensus. We found that the reform and innovation are the main policy and dynamic. The power of Chinese government and the activity of market have formed. They are willing to make a difference. Politburo’s standing committee members are the third energy of Chinese reform or economy. Based on inspections of all the provinces of China, they can change any policy if they think it is not appropriate for the local development.
Microstructures and Toughness of Weld Metal of Ultrafine Grained Ferritic Steel by Laser Welding

Xudong ZHANG,Wuzhu CHEN,Cheng WANG,Lin ZHAO,Yun PENG,Zhiling TIAN,

材料科学技术学报 , 2004,
Abstract: 3 mm thick 400 MPa grade ultrafine grained ferritic steel plates were bead-on-plate welded by CO2 laser with heat input of 120~480 J/mm. The microstructures of the weld metal mainly consist of bainite, which form is lower bainite plates or polygonal ferrite containing quantities of dispersed cementite particles, mixed with a few of low carbon martensite laths or ferrite, depending on the heat input. The hardness and the tensile strength of the weld metal are higher than those of the base metal, and monotonously increase as the heat input decreases. No softened zone exists inheat affected zone (HAZ). Compared with the base metal, although the grains of laser weld are much larger, the toughness of the weld metal is higher within a large range of heat input. Furthermore, as the heat input increases, the toughness of the weld metal rises to a maximum value, at which point the percentage of lower bainite is the highest, and then drops.

金属学报 , 2006,
Abstract: Three-dimensional finite-element thermal stress model was established to predict the thermal distortion and stress distribution in a continuous casting slab mold during production. The effects of copper plate thickness, water slot depth and nickel layer thickness on copper plate distortion and stress were investigated. The results show that the maximum distortions of wide and narrow faces of the copper plate are 0.245 mm and 1.01 mm, respectively. During operation, the distortion and thermal stress decrease with decreasing copper plate thickness and increasing water slot depth, while the effects of the thickness of nickel layer coating on the copper plate distortion and thermal stress distribution are not obvious.

Implicit Boundary Conditions in Transformation-Optics Cloaking for Electromagneticwaves
Xudong Chen
PIER , 2011, DOI: 10.2528/PIER11101010
Abstract: The paper studies boundary conditions in transformation-optics cloaking for two and three dimensional electromagnetic waves. Implicit boundary conditions for these two cases are derived, no matter if the source is placed in the interior or exterior of the cloak layer. More importantly, the two implicit boundary conditions are derived without solving Mie scattering problems, and these conditions are characteristics of the clock-air interface. In particular, the implicit boundary condition for two-dimensional electromagnetic wave case is reported for the first time. In addition, a sensor can be cloaked in two-dimensional electromagnetic waves, i.e., waves can penetrate into the interior of the cloak layer without exterior scattering.
