Analysis of Factors Influencing Current Practice of Clinical Medicine Education

Abstract: This study aims to analyze the factors that influence current practice of clinical medicine education through questionnaire among the undergraduates of 2003rd year (of graduation) in Luzhou Medical College who have just finished practice education. The sample comprises of 206 students. Then we get the first-hand data based on the personal experience of interns by analyzing the questionnaire, make clear the inherent reasons, thus take measures to achieve an etiological treatment and provide evidence for the direct formulation of educational reform measures so as to scientifically impelling the practice education reform.
On a question of Babadi and Tarokh

Abstract: In a recent remarkable paper, Babadi and Tarokh proved the "randomness" of sequences arising from binary linear block codes in the sense of spectral distribution, provided that their dual distances are sufficiently large. However, numerical experiments conducted by the authors revealed that Gold sequences which have dual distance 5 also satisfy such randomness property. Hence the interesting question was raised as to whether or not the stringent requirement of large dual distances can be relaxed in the theorem in order to explain the randomness of Gold sequences. This paper improves their result on several fronts and provides an affirmative answer to this question.

Abstract: Motivated by the study of the directed polymer model with mobile Poissonian traps or catalysts and the stochastic parabolic Anderson model with time dependent potential, we investigate the asymptotic behavior of \[\mathbb{E}\otimes\mathbb{E}_0\exp\left\{\pm\theta\int^t_0\bar{V}(s,B_s)ds\right\}\qquad (t\to\infty)\] where $\th>0$ is a constant, $\overline{V}$ is the renormalized Poisson potential of the form \[\overline{V}(s,x)=\int_{\mathbb{R}^d}\frac{1}{|y-x|^p}\left(\omega_s(dy)-dy\right),\] and $\omega_s$ is the measure-valued process consisting of independent Brownian particles whose initial positions form a Poisson random measure on $\mathbb{R}^d$ with Lebesgue measure as its intensity. Different scaling limits are obtained according to the parameter $p$ and dimension $d$. For the logarithm of the negative exponential moment, the range of $\frac{d}{2}2)$, the exponential moments become infinite for all $t>0$.

With the large-scale development of Chinese electric power, the contradiction of China’s energy supply and demand that reverse distributed is very prominent, therefore, promoting electricity trading is one of the important measures to get optimized configuration of energy resources in nationwide. For the two kinds of trading method, the “power point to the grid” trading and the “grid to grid” trading, this paper designed pricing mechanism model, and took one area as an example, we analyzed the impact of the participants by using different pricing mechanism, and put forward reasonable policy proposals for China’s pricing mechanism of trans-regional and trans-provincial electricity trading.

Optimization of Phenolic Antioxidant Extraction from Wuweizi (Schisandra chinensis) Pulp Using?Random-Centroid Optimazation Methodology

Abstract: The extraction optimization and composition analysis of polyphenols in the fresh pulp of Wuweizi ( Schisandra chinensis) have been investigated in this study. The extraction process of polyphenols from Wuweizi pulp was optimized using Random-Centroid Optimization (RCO) methodology. Six factors including liquid and solid ratio, ethanol concentration, pH, temperature, heating time and extraction times, and three extraction targets of polyphenol content, antioxidant activity and extract yield were considered in the RCO program. Three sets of optimum proposed factor values were obtained corresponding to three extraction targets respectively. The set of optimum proposed factor values for polyphenol extraction given was chosen in further experiments as following: liquid and solid ratio (v/w) 8, ethanol 67.3% (v/v), initial pH 1.75, temperature 55 °C for 4 h and extraction repeated for 4 times. The Wuweizi polyphenol extract (WPE) was obtained with a yield of 16.37 mg/g and composition of polyphenols 1.847 mg/g, anthocyanins 0.179 mg/g, sugar 9.573 mg/g and protein 0.327 mg/g. The WPE demonstrated high scavenging activities against DPPH radicals.
Bone Cancer Mortality in Inner Mongolia from 2008 to 2012  [PDF]

Abstract: Objective: The aim of our study was to assess bone cancer mortality and the related social factors in Inner Mongolia in China. Methods: We obtained data from the Centers for Disease Control in Inner Mongolia from five monitoring points of the Death Registry System in Inner Mongolia from 2008 to 2012. We calculated the crude mortality rate for bone cancer. The χ2 test was used to examine differences in bone cancer mortality rates between sexes and years. Unconditional logistic regressions were applied to analyze the effect of socio-demographic characteristics by sex. Results: Between 2008 and 2012, the crude mortality rate of bone cancer was 1.12/100000 (95% confidence interval = 1.02-1.21). The bone cancer mortality was 2.24 in men and 1.25 in women, resulting in a male-female ratio of 1.8. No between-year difference in the mortality rate was observed between 2008 and 2012 (men: χ2 = 4.65, P = 0.325; women: χ2 = 2.21, P = 0.698). In general, mortality increased with increasing age. People with a lower education level exhibited an increased risk of bone cancer among both men and women. Jobs involving extensive manual labor decreased the likelihood of bone cancer mortality, and the odds ratio was higher for men than women (0.6 vs. 0.45). Unmarried people had a higher risk for bone cancer than married people. Conclusion: The mortality rate of bone cancer was not significantly different between men and women from 2008 to 2012. The risk of bone cancer increased with age among both sexes. Unmarried people and those with a low education status had an elevated risk of bone cancer, whereas employment in a field involving extensive manual labor appeared to be a protective factor against bone cancer.
Characterizations of operator-valued Hardy spaces and applications to harmonic analysis on quantum tori

Abstract: This paper deals with the operator-valued Hardy spaces introduced and studied by Tao Mei. Our principal result shows that the Poisson kernel in Mei's definition of these spaces can be replaced by any reasonable test function. As an application, we get a general characterization of Hardy spaces on quantum tori. The latter characterization plays a key role in our recent study of Triebel-Lizorkin spaces on quantum tori.
Weight Distributions of a Class of Cyclic Codes with Arbitrary Number of Zeros II

Abstract: Cyclic codes are an important class of linear codes, whose weight distribution have been extensively studied. So far, most of previous results obtained were for cyclic codes with no more than three zeros. Recently, \cite{Y-X-D12} constructed a class of cyclic codes with arbitrary number of zeros, and computed the weight distributions for several cases. In this paper, we determine the weight distribution for a new family of such codes. This is achieved by certain new methods, such as the theory of Jacobi sums over finite fields and subtle treatment of some complicated combinatorial identities.
On a question of Babadi and Tarokh II

Abstract: In this paper we continue to study a question proposed by Babadi and Tarokh \cite{ba2} on the mysterious randomness of Gold sequences. Upon improving their result, we establish the randomness of product of pseudorandom matrices formed from two linear block codes with respect to the empirical spectral distribution, if the dual distance of both codes is at least 5, hence providing an affirmative answer to the question.
The Influence of Sheath Solvent’s Flow Rate on the Quality of Electrospun Ethyl Cellulose Nanofibers  [PDF]

The present research investigates the influence of sheath solvent’s flow rate on the quality of electrospun ethyl cellulose (EC) nanofibers using a modified coaxial process. With 24 w/v % EC in ethanol as electrospinnable core fluid and ethanol as sheath fluid, EC nanofibers generated under different sheath flow rates were generated from the modified processes. FESEM observations demonstrate that the modified process is effective in preventing the clogging of spinneret for a smooth electrospinning. The key for the modified coaxial process is the reasonable selection of a sheath flow rate matching the drawing process of core EC fluid during the electrpospinning. The EC nanofibers’ diameters (D, nm) could be manipulated through the sheath-to-core flow rate ratio (f) as D = 819-1651f (R= 0.9754) within a suitable range of 0 to 0.25. The present paper provides useful data for the implementation of the modified coaxial process controllably to obtain polymer nanofibers with high quality.
