An Electronic Image Stabilization Algorithm Based on Efficient Block Matching on the Bitplane  [PDF]

Abstract: This paper proposes an electronic image stabilization algorithm based on efficient block matching on the plane. This algorithm uses a hexagonal search algorithm, and uses the bit-planes to estimate and compensate for the translational motion between video sequences at the same time; As for the rotary motion vector generated in the video sequences, in order to highlight the intensity change of the image sequence, the algorithm firstly conducts Laplace transform for the reference frame, then select a number of characteristics at the image edge to make block matching with the current frame, calculate and compensate for the rotational movement that may exist finally. Through theoretical analysis and simula-tion, we prove that, as for a mixed translational and rotational motion video sequences, the proposed algorithm can reduce required time for block matching computation ,while improving the accuracy of the electronic image stabilization.
The Vasorelaxant Mechanisms of a Rho Kinase Inhibitor DL0805 in Rat Thoracic Aorta

Abstract: Rho-kinase has been suggested as a potential therapeutic target in the treatment of cardiovascular diseases. The Rho-kinase signaling pathway is substantially involved in vascular contraction. The aim of the present study was to evaluate the vasorelaxant effects of Rho kinase inhibitor DL0805 in isolated rat aortic rings and to investigate its possible mechanism(s). It was found that DL0805 exerted vasorelaxation in a dose-dependent manner in NE or KCl-induced sustained contraction and partial loss of the vasorelaxation under endothelium-denuded rings. The DL0805-induced vasorelaxation was significantly reduced by the nitric oxide synthase inhibitor Nω-nitro-L-arginine methyl ester, the guanylate cyclase inhibitor methylene blue and the cyclooxygenase inhibitor indomethacin. The voltage-dependent K+ channel blocker 4-aminopyridine remarkably attenuated DL0805-induced relaxations. However, the ATP-sensitive K+ channel blocker glibenclamide and Ca2+-activated K+ channel blocker tetraethylammonium did not affect the DL0805-induced relaxation. In the endothelium-denuded rings, DL0805 also reduced NE-induced transient contraction and inhibited contraction induced by increasing external calcium. These findings suggested that DL0805 is a novel vasorelaxant compound associated with inhibition of Rho/ROCK signaling pathway. The NO-cGMP pathway may be involved in the relaxation of DL0805 in endothelium-intact aorta. The vasorelaxant effect of DL0805 is partially mediated by the opening of the voltage-dependent K+ channels.
Quantization of Noncommutative Scalar Solitons at finite $θ$

Abstract: We start by discussing the classical noncommutative (NC) Q-ball solutions near the commutative limit, then generalize the virial relation. Next we quantize the NC Q-ball canonically. At very small theta quantum correction to the energy of the Q-balls is calculated through summation of the phase shift. UV/IR mixing terms are found in the quantum corrections which cannot be renormalized away. The same method is generalized to the NC GMS soliton for the smooth enough solution. UV/IR mixing is also found in the energy correction and UV divergence is shown to be absent. In this paper only (2+1) dimensional scalar field theory is discussed.
Damping Properties of Ethylene-Vinyl Acetate Rubber/Polylactic Acid Blends  [PDF]

Abstract: In this research, ethylene-vinyl acetate rubber (EVM)/polylactic acid (PLA) = 80/20 by weight blend was compounded with silica in a Haake torque rheometer. The effects of hindered phenol (AO-60), super branched polyol, petroleum resin C9, polyvinyl chloride (PVC) and acrylic rubber (ACM) on the damping properties of blends were investigated by dynamic mechanic analyzer (DMA). The results showed that 20 phr super branched polyol significantly increased the damping factor of PLA to widen the effective damping temperature range from 42.1to 102.5. 15 phr AO-60 and 10 phr petroleum resin C9 both dramatically raised the blend’s damping factor to broaden the effective damping temperature range to 98.0 and 102.6, respectively. ACM and PVC are compatible with EVM, and both improved the damping properties of EVM/PLA blends.

Abstract: A novel all solid-state composite polymer electrolyte, PEO-LiClO4-LiZSM5, by using “shape-selective” molecular sieves ZSM-5 as filler was obtained by the solvent casting method. The experimental results showed that the addition of LiZSM5 could enhance the ionic conductivity of the pristine PEO-LiClO4 electrolyte, the ionic conductivity of PEO10-LiClO4-10%LiZSM5 achieved 1.4 × 10 5 S cm 1 at 25°C. Lithium ion transference number was tested by AC impedance combined with the steady-state current method, the results showed that LiZSM5 could improve the Li+ transference number of the CPE effectively. The broad electrochemical stability window ensured the use of PEO-Li-ClO4-LiZSM5 as electrolyte materials for all solid-state rechargeable lithium ion batteries.
Crucial function of histone lysine methylation in plant reproduction

Abstract: Unlike animals, plants do not set aside germ cells early in development. In angiosperm species, reproduction occurs in the adult plant upon flowering. The multicellular male and female gametophytes differentiate from meiotic products within reproductive floral organs. Double fertilization is another remarkable feature of most angiosperm species. The zygote derived from fertilization of the egg cell by one of the sperm cells and the endosperm from fertilization of the central cell by the second sperm cell develop in a coordinated manner together and enclosed in the sporophytic maternal integuments, forming the seed. Understanding plant reproduction is biologically pertinent and agronomically and ecologically important. Here, we describe the known functions of histone lysine methylations in various steps of reproduction in the reference plant Arabidopsis thaliana. It is emerging that histone lysine methylation is key for understanding epigenetic regulation networks of genome function.

A Note on the Non-Commutative Wess-Zumino Model

Abstract: We show that the noncommutative Wess-Zumino (NCWZ) Lagrangian with permutation terms in the interaction parts is renormalizable at one-loop level by only a wave function renormalization. When the non-commutativity vanishes, the logarithmic divergence of the wave function renormalization of the NCWZ theory is the same as that of the commutative one. Next the algebras of noncommutative field theories (NCFT's) are studied. From Neother currents, the field representation for the generators of NCFT's is extracted. Then based on this representation, the commutation relations between the generators are calculated for NCFT's. The symmetry properties of NCFT's inferred from these commutation relations are discussed and compared with those of the commutative ones.
Cooperative Structure-Directing Effects in the Synthesis of a High-Silica Zeolite Mazzite Analogue  [PDF]

Abstract: A zeolite Mazzite (MAZ) analogue with high silica content has been synthesized from a Na2O-Al2O3-SiO2-morpholine-H2O system. The crystal morphology of this MAZ analogue was found to consist of spherical agglomerates of diameter up to 17 μm. It has been unequivocally demonstrated that zeolite Mordenite (MOR) or amorphous material was produced instead in the absence of either morpholine or Na+. Associated phases indicate that the MAZ may be a “intermediate phase” between the crystallization fields of zeolites Analcime (ANA) and MOR. Thus, the zeolite MAZ analogue is seemingly derived from the cooperative structure-directing effect of the organic molecule morpholine and the inorganic cation Na+. The results of CHN elemental analyses as well as of thermogravimetric (TG) analyses confirmed that morpholine had been incorporated into the zeolitic structure.

Abstract: A highly-controllable core-shell silica-MIPs absorbent by anchoring a MIPs layer to the surface of SiO2 nanoparticles via a surface molecular imprinting process was prepared. The templates were covalently modified with functional monomers to form precursor EstSi. The latter together with coupling reagent KH-570, were grafted onto the surface of SiO2 nanoparticles before polymerization, to ensure the quantity and quality of imprinted sites on the surface of the covalently attached matrix. The as-synthesized core-shell nanomaterials (SiO2@MIP2) were then evaluated for selective adsorption of 17β-estradiol (E2) with Raman spectra as detection method. The results indicate that SiO2@MIP2 can fast and selectively adsorb E2 from structural analogues, with detection limit of 0.01 μmol/l.
