Thermodynamics and kinetics of extracting zinc from zinc oxide ore by the ammonium sulfate roasting method

Abstract: Thermodynamic analyses and kinetic studies were performed on zinc oxide ore treatment by (NH4)2SO4 roasting technology. The results show that it is theoretically feasible to realize a roasting reaction between the zinc oxide ore and (NH4)2SO4 in a temperature range of 573–723 K. The effects of reaction temperature and particle size on the extraction rate of zinc were also examined. It is found that a surface chemical reaction is the rate-controlling step in roasting kinetics. The calculated activation energy of this process is about 45.57 kJ/mol, and the kinetic model can be expressed as follows: 1 ? (1 ? α)1/3 = 30.85 exp(?45.57/RT)·t. An extraction ratio of zinc as high as 92% could be achieved under the optimum conditions.
Pharmacokinetic Disposition of Streptomycin Sulfate in Japanese Eel (Anguilla japonica) after Oral and Intramuscular Administrations  [PDF]

Abstract: Pharmacokinetics and residue elimination of streptomycin sulfate (STR) are important in the determination of optimal dosage regimens and in establishing safe withdrawal periods in farmed fishes. The pharmacokinetics of STR was studied after a single dose (50 mg/kg) of intramuscular (i.m.) or oral gavage (p.o.) administration to Japanese eel (Anguilla japonica) in freshwater at 25°C. Eight fish per sampling point were examined after treatment. Plasma and muscle were collected and analyzed by high-performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) method with 0.05 μg/ml detection limit. The data of pharmacokinetics conformed to the two-compartment open model for intramuscular and one-compartment open model for oral administrations. After intramuscular administration, the elimination half-life (t1/2β) was calculated to be 11.346 h, the maximum plasma concentration (Cmax) to be 29.524 μg/ml, the time to peak plasma streptomycin concentration (Tmax) to be 0.218 h, and the area under the plasma concentration-time curve (AUC) to be 90.206 μg/ml?h. Following p.o. administration, the corresponding estimates were 13.239 h, 0.346 μg/ml, 11.960 h, and 12.356 μg/ml?h. After intramuscular administration, a therapeutic concentration of the drug was maintained for 12 hours in the plasma, however, a therapeutic level could not be achieved after oral administration, and the results suggest that the drug can be used clinically by intramuscular administration against streptomycin susceptible systemic infections in Japanese eel.
Reaction condition optimization and kinetic investigation of roasting zinc oxide ore using (NH4)2SO4

Abstract: An orthogonal test was used to optimize the reaction conditions of roasting zinc oxide ore using (NH4)2SO4. The optimized reaction conditions are defined as an (NH4)2SO4/zinc molar ratio of 1.4:1, a roasting temperature of 440°C, and a thermostatic time of 60 min. The molar ratio of (NH4)2SO4/zinc is the most predominant factor and the roasting temperature is the second significant factor that governs the zinc extraction. Thermogravimetric–differential thermal analysis was used for (NH4)2SO4 and zinc mixed in a molar ratio of 1.4:1 at the heating rates of 5, 10, 15, and 20 K·min?1. Two strong endothermic peaks indicate that the complex chemical reactions occur at approximately 290°C and 400°C. XRD analysis was employed to examine the transformations of mineral phases during roasting process. Kinetic parameters, including reaction apparent activation energy, reaction order, and frequency factor, were calculated by the Doyle–Ozawa and Kissinger methods. Corresponding to the two endothermic peaks, the kinetic equations were obtained.
Preparation of ultrafine silica from potash feldspar using sodium carbonate roasting technology

Abstract: A novel process was developed for the preparation of ultrafine silica from potash feldspar. In the first step, potash feldspar was roasted with Na2CO3 and was followed by leaching using NaOH solution to increase the levels of potassium, sodium, and aluminum in the solid residue. The leaching solution was then carbonated to yield ultrafine silica. The optimized reaction conditions in the roasting process were as follows: an Na2CO3-to-potash feldspar molar ratio of 1.1, a reaction temperature of 875°C, and a reaction time of 1.5 h. Under these conditions, the extraction rate of SiO2 was 98.13%. The optimized carbonation conditions included a final solution pH value of 9.0, a temperature of 40°C, a CO2 flow rate of 6 mL/min, a stirring intensity of 600 r/min, and an ethanol-to-water volume ratio of 1:9. The precipitation rate and granularity of the SiO2 particles were 99.63% and 200 nm, respectively. We confirmed the quality of the obtained ultrafine silica by comparing the recorded indexes with those specified in Chinese National Standard GB 25576―2010.

Abstract: Zen is the product of Buddhism and Chinese culture, as the part of which ,it has penetrated into our daily life, and surpassed itself. Zen gives traditional Chinese art design special color and influences people ‘s thought of design esthetics, style of design esthetics, all these become our traditional ways of expression. But the influence of Zen is seldom noticed. Now people come to know the importance of traditions. this article try to talk about Zen’s influence on Chinese art design and its significance by three points: the sense of “yijing”, space and natural consciousness. Key words: zen, Buddhist Culture, art design, traditional culture Résumé: Le zen est le produit de la combinaison du bouddhisme et de la culture chinoise. En tant que partie de notre culture, il pépètre déja dans tous les domaines de notre vie quotidienne. La culture Zen permet au deisign artistique traditionnel de Chine de revêtir des aspects originaux, influe dans une large mesure sur l’esthétique du design et devient ainsi un moyen spécial d’exprimer la sentiment et l’esthétique nationaux. Cependant, l’influence de l’école Zen sur l’art est rarement invoquée. Il est nécessaire de reconsidérer son influence dans le contexte où l’on insiste sur le retour à la tradition nationale du design. L’article présent tente d’aborder comment l’école Zen influence la pensée artistique traditionnelle de Chine et sa conception du design sous les angles de la conception de l’état d’ame, la conscience spatiale et la conscience naturelle dans le design artistique, et d’explorer la portée actuelle de cette influence. Sliding mode control of chaotic vibrations of spinning disks with uncertain parameter under bounded disturbance

Abstract: In order to eliminate lateral oscillation of spinning disk with uncertain parameter and dispel their adverse effect on the system performance or the working conditions of the system, supposing that the point force acting on the spinning disk is uncertain and bounded, the chaotic complex dynamic characteristics of the four-dimensional nonlinear equations in lateral oscillations of spinning disk under bounded disturbance were analyzed in view of the ubiquity of disturbance, including the space trajectory, the Lyapunov exponent and the Poincaré map. These characteristics enable us to know them deeply, and indicate that the four-dimensional dynamical system contains chaotic attractor. To ensure the robustness of the system control, the author stabilized the chaotic orbits to arbitrary chosen fixed points and periodic orbits by means of sliding mode method, and MATLAB simulations were presented to confirm the validity of the controller. The results show that using sliding mode method can make the system track target orbit strictly and smoothly with short transition time, and its insensitivity to noise disturbance is shown. It provides reference for relevant chaos control in mechanical system.
Survey of Mentl Health States and Job Burnout of Young Kindergarten Teachers in Private Kindergartens

Abstract: The purpose of this study is to investigate young private kindergarten teachers' mental health and job burnout states. We use SCL-90, MBI(Maslach Burnout Inventory) and working environment & social and economic station to survey kindergarten teachers, and analyses the data of 195 young kindergarten teachers in private kindergartens. We have found:1)Positive detection rate of project is 47.18%, teachers who have at least one abvious positive symptoms cover 8.27%. 2) The positive symptoms and number of items of youth-run private kindergarten teachers are significantly lower than public kindergarten teachers. 3) Emotional exhaustion dimension score is 31.07±8.81,depersonality dimension score is 9.93±5.13,sense of achievement dimension score is 41.99±10.79. The final results show that:1)The level of mental health of young private kindergarten teachers is relatively low, mental health problems are somewhat serious, but the overall situation is better than public kindergarten teachers. 2) 8.72% of the private kindergarten teachers have relatively serious psychological barriers, mainly manifested in factors as fear, depression, hostility and anxiety. 3) The career achievement of private kindergarten teachers is higher while they have medium depersonality level and more serious emotional exhaustion.

3D Multispectral Imagery Data Compression Based on KLT/WT a nd VQ with Spectral-feature-coding

Abstract: In this paper we propose a new method for multispec tr al image data compression based on Karhunen-Leove Transformation (KLT)/Wavelet Transformation (WT) and VQ with Spectral Feature Coding(SFCVQ). After KLT is app lied to multispectral image data for exploiting the spectral correlation, the Wa velet Transformation (WT) is used for the transformed multispectral image data t o remove spatial redundancy. Then the SFCVQ is designed to compress every spectr al image data. A higher compression performance is obtained. Experimental result s shows that in comparison of the methods of KLT/WT/SFCVQ with KLT/KLT/VQ, under the condition of the same Compression Ratio ( CR ), the Peak Signal to Noise Ratio ( PSNR ) is not varied apparently, while the compression speed increase s 30folds, or 5folds compared with the KLT/WT/FSVQ, and the total compression pe rformance has a great enhancement.
