Research on Development of Modern Service Industry in Wuhan City Circle  [PDF]

Abstract: The modern service industry is an important force of promoting economic growth and social sustainable development. By analyzing the importance of modern service industry to the construction of “Two-oriented Society” and the advantages and disadvantages of the development of modern service industry in Wuhan City Circle, the paper presents many strategies of the development of modern service industry in Wuhan City Circle: changing concept of development, improving policies and the organizational guarantee system, accelerating industrial restructuring, clearing development ideas, strengthening market supervision, strengthening the introduction of human resources, carrying out international exchanges and cooperation.

Abstract: In the binuclear centrosymmetric title compound, [Cu2(C13H17N2O)2(C2H3O2)2]·H2O, the CuII atom is coordinated by two N atoms and one O atom from the Schiff base ligand and an acetate O atom in a distorted suare-planar geometry. The water O atom is invoved in three different hydrogen-bonding interactions, as donor to the acetate O atom and to the the ligand O atom and as acceptor to a ligand N atom.
The initial survey of basic scientific literacy in Guangxi middle school

Abstract: More than 3000 middle school students in Guangxi were surveyed by the Test of Basic Scientific Literacy (TBSL) to examine the status quo of their scientific literacy. The results showed that (1) the modified Test of Basic Scientific Literacy(TBSL) on the basic of Taiwan version was established satisfactory validity and reliablity as well as division. It can mainly be used for the measurement of middle school students’ scientific literacy in mainland China. (2) In general, the Guangxi middle school students performed better in health science, life science, earth science and space science, but scored lower in nature of science and physical science. (3) There was significant difference between grades, higher grade students scored significantly higher than the lower grade students. (4) The boys outperformed girls in earth science and space science while girls outperformed boys in health science, life science, STS and TBSL. (5) Science majors students achieved better than art majors in earth science and space science as well as in nature of science. Finally, some implications were given to the scientific literacy instructions.
Global climate change and cryospheric evolution in China

Abstract: Major outcomes of Working Group I, IPCC AR4 (2007), as well as the recent understandings from our regional climatic assessments in China were summarized. Changes of cryosphere in China, one of the major components in regional climate system, is speci cally reviewed. Under the global/regional warming, all components of cryosphere in China (Tibetan Plateau and surroundings) including glaciers, frozen ground (including permafrost) and snow cover show rapid decay in the last decades. These changes have big socioeconomic impacts in west China, thus encourages both government and scientists pay more and more attention to this eld.

Par La carte et le territoire, Michel Houellebecq nous invite à réfléchir avec lui sur la raison d’être de l’homme moderne dans la société de consommation. Au travers de son personnage principal, Houellebecq nous fait découvrir la situation existentielle de l’homme. Dans une société soumise au règne de l’argent et la vitesse de consommation, l’apathie et l’indifférence de Jed sont aussi les n tres. Under the given conditions, we obtain a law of iterated logarithm and a Chung type law of iterated logarithm for the maximum likelihood estimator (MLE) in the present model.

Abstract: The functional formula diet AHP, containing polysaccharides from Auricularia auricular, polyphenolic compounds from Hawthorn (Crataegus) and Pueraria radix, has been recently developed as a dietary intervention against dyslipidemia in our previous study. In the present study, its antioxidant activities and protective effects against proliferation of vascular smooth muscle cells (VSMCs) were investigated. AHP possessed the potent radical-scavenging effects against hydroxyl and superoxide radicals, and also the inhibitory effects against peroxidation of low density lipoprotein induced by Cu2+ in vitro. The protective effects of AHP against proliferation of VSMCs were evaluated through the methodology of serum pharmacology. The serum containing AHP significantly inhibited the proliferation of VSMCs induced by oxidized low density lipoprotein in a time- and dose-dependent manner, and also promoted the nitric oxide production of VSMCs. Our study indicated that this functional formula diet would be a potent alternative as a functional diet to prevent atherosclerosis at early stage.
A Comparison Study of the Contributions of Additional Observations in the Sensitive Regions Identified by CNOP and FSV to Reducing Forecast Error Variance for the Typhoon Morakot

Abstract: The sensitive regions of conditional nonlinear optimal perturbations (CNOPs) and the first singular vector (FSV) for a northwest Pacific typhoon case are reported in this paper. A large number of probes have been designed in the above regions and the ensemble transform Kalman filter (ETKF) techniques are utilized to examine which approach can locate more appropriate regions for typhoon adaptive observations. The results show that, in general, the majority of the probes in the sensitive regions of CNOPs can reduce more forecast error variance than the probes in the sensitive regions of FSV. This implies that adaptive observations in the sensitive regions of CNOPs are more effective than in the sensitive regions of FSV. Furthermore, the reduction of the forecast error variance obtained by the best probe identified by CNOPs is twice the reduction of the forecast error variance obtained by FSV. This implies that dropping sondes, which is the best probe identified by CNOPs, can improve the forecast more than the best probe identified by FSV. These results indicate that the sensitive regions identified by CNOPs are more appropriate for adaptive observations than those identified by FSV.
The Sensitive Regions Identified by CNOPs of Three Typhoon Events

Abstract: In this paper, several sets of observing system simulation experiments (OSSEs) were designed for three typhoon cases to determine whether or not the additional observation data in the sensitive regions identified by conditional nonlinear optimal perturbations (CNOPs) could improve the short-range forecast of typhoons. The results show that the CNOPs capture the sensitive regions for typhoon forecasts, which implies that conducting additional observation in these specific regions and eliminating initial errors could reduce forecast errors. It is inferred from the results that dropping sondes in the CNOP sensitive regions could lead to improvements in typhoon forecasts.
Delayed Consistency Model for Distributed Interactive Systems with Real-Time Continuous Media

Abstract: The advanced multimedia and high-speed networks make distributed interactive systems more promising and practical. These systems are distributed systems, which allow many clients located in different locations to concurrently explore and interact with each other. The systems can be built either in the localarea network (LAN), or the wide area network (WAN), such as the Internet. Operations issued at one site are immediately executed at the local sites for a good response time, and are propagated to other sites. One of the challenging issues raised in the systems is consistency maintenance. Such issue in the discrete interactive media has been studied in many literatures. However, the consistency maintenance scheme for discrete interactive media is not suitable for continuous media domain. This paper illustrates a consistency problem in continuous interactive media by a simple example. The absolute consistency model, a strong requirement, is suitable for LAN and results in a bad responsiveness in WAN. To make themodel more practical for WAN, a new consistency model, named delayed consistency model (DCM), is proposed. In this model, if an operation on an object x is issued at site i, every site is required to execute the operation at a specified time. The essential idea behind the proposed model is that other sites are enforced to update the state at a certain amount of time later than site i does. Thus, other sites will finally view the same state of x as that of site i. The DCM model is flexible, since it is unnecessary for all sites to have the identical delayed time. In case that the system is based on a real-time network, another advantage of the model is providing the real-time network scheduling with important timing parameters.
