Multi-Beam Radar Search Improvement Via Digital Signal Re-Steering

Abstract: This paper studies a method of producing multiple receiving beams by applying re-steering of digital signals exported from subarrays inside the 3dB beam width of the transmitting beam to remedy the loss caused by mismatching between target location and the center of the transmitting beam. This improves the average detection performance inside the 3dB beam width of the transmitting beam, and finally enhances the search performance of Radar. The simulation experiments have verified the validity of the proposed method.
Joint redundant motion vector and intra macroblock refreshment for video transmission

Abstract: This paper proposes a scheme for error-resilient transmission of videos which jointly uses intra macroblock refreshment and redundant motion vector. The selection of using intra refreshment or redundant motion vector is determined by the rate-distortion optimization procedure. The end-to-end distortion is used for the rate-distortion optimization, which can be easily calculated with the recursive optimal per-pixel estimate (ROPE) method. Simulation results show that the proposed method outperforms both the intra refreshment approach and redundant motion vector approach significantly, when the two approaches are deployed separately. Specifically, for the Foreman sequence, the average PSNR of the proposed approach can be 1.12 dB higher than that of the intra refreshment approach and 5 dB higher than that of the redundant motion vector approach.
Error-resilient video coding with end-to-end rate-distortion optimized at macroblock level

Abstract: Intra macroblock refreshment is an effective approach for error-resilient video coding. In this paper, in addition to intra coding, we propose to add two macroblock coding modes to enhance the transmission robustness of the coded bitstream, which are inter coding with redundant macroblock and intra coding with redundant macroblock. The selection of coding modes and the parameters for coding the redundant version of the macroblock are determined by the rate-distortion optimization. It is worth mentioning that the end-to-end distortion is employed in the optimization procedure, which considers the channel conditions. Extensive simulation results show that the proposed approach outperforms other error-resilient approaches significantly; for some video sequences, the average PSNR can be up to 4 dB higher than that of the Optimal Intra Refreshment approach.

Abstract: Based on a new adaptive Particle Swarm Optimization algorithm with dynamically changing inertia weight (DAPSO), It is used to optimize parameters in PID controller. Compared to conventional PID methods, the simulation shows that this new method makes the optimization perfectly and convergence quickly.
Adaptive Output Tracking for Nonlinear Network Control Systems with Time-Delay  [PDF]

Abstract: The problem of adaptive output tracking is researched for a class of nonlinear network control systems with parameter uncertainties and time-delay. In this paper, a new program is proposed to design a state-feedback controller for this system. For time-delay and parameter uncertainties problems in network control systems, applying the backstepping recursive method, and using Young inequality to process the time-delay term of the systems, a robust adaptive output tracking controller is designed to achieve robust control over a class of nonlinear time-delay network control systems. According to Lyapunov stability theory, Barbalat lemma and Gronwall inequality, it is proved that the designed state feedback controller not only guarantees the state of systems is uniformly bounded, but also ensures the tracking error of the systems converges to a small neighborhood of the origin. Finally, a simulation example for nonlinear network control systems with parameter uncertainties and time-delay is given to illustrate the robust effectiveness of the designed state-feedback controller.
Differential Responses of Neuronal and Spermatogenic Cells to the Doppel Cytotoxicity

Abstract: Although structurally and biochemically similar to the cellular prion (PrPC), doppel (Dpl) is unique in its biological functions. There are no reports about any neurodegenerative diseases induced by Dpl. However the artificial expression of Dpl in the PrP-deficient mouse brain causes ataxia with Purkinje cell death. Abundant Dpl proteins have been found in testis and depletion of the Dpl gene (Prnd) causes male infertility. Therefore, we hypothesize different regulations of Prnd in the nerve and male productive systems. In this study, by electrophoretic mobility shift assays we have determined that two different sets of transcription factors are involved in regulation of the Prnd promoter in mouse neuronal N2a and GC-1 spermatogenic (spg) cells, i.e., upstream stimulatory factors (USF) in both cells, Brn-3 and Sp1 in GC-1 spg cells, and Sp3 in N2a cells, leading to the expression of Dpl in GC-1 spg but not in N2a cells. We have further defined that, in N2a cells, Dpl induces oxidative stress and apoptosis, which stimulate ataxia-telangiectasia mutated (ATM)-modulating bindings of transcription factors, p53 and p21, to Prnp promoter, resulting the PrPC elevation for counteraction of the Dpl cytotoxicity; in contrast, in GC-1 spg cells, phosphorylation of p21 and N-terminal truncated PrP may play roles in the control of Dpl-induced apoptosis, which may benefit the physiological function of Dpl in the male reproduction system.

Abstract: Compared with front engine vehicle, the windward side’s flow field in cooling model of rear engine bus is complicated and it can’t be calculated by means of 1D model. For this problem, this paper has used Star-CCM to build a 3D simulation model of cooling system, engine compartment and complete vehicle. Then, it had a 1D/3D coupling calculation on cooling system with Kuli software. It could be helpful in the optimization design of the flow field of rear engine compartment and optimization match of cooling system.

Abstract: Background Autoantibodies against the second extracellular loop of the β1-adrenergic receptor (β1-AA) not only contribute to increased susceptibility to heart failure, but also play a causative role in myocardial remodeling through their sympathomimetic-like effects that are induced upon binding to the β1-adrenergic receptor. However, their role in the function of T lymphocytes has never been previously investigated. Our present study was designed to determine whether β1-AA isolated from the sera of dilated cardiomyopathy (DCM) patients caused the proliferation of T cells and the secretion of cytokines. Methods Blood samples were collected from 95 DCM patients as well as 95 healthy subjects, and β1-AA was detected using ELISA. The CD3+T lymphocytes were selected separately through flow cytometry and the effect of β1-AA on T lymphocyte proliferation was examined by CCK-8 kits and CFSE assay. Western blotting was used to analyze the expressions of phospho-VASP and phospho-p38 MAPK. Results β1-AA enhanced the proliferation of T lymphocytes. This effect could be blocked by the selective β1-adrenergic receptor antagonist metoprolol, PKA inhibitor H89, and p38 MAPK inhibitor SB203580. Furthermore, the expression of the phosphorylated forms of phospho-VASP and phospho-p38 MAPK were markedly increased in the presence of β1-AA. β1-AA also inhibited the secretion of interferon-γ (IFN-γ) while promoting an increase in interleukin-4 (IL-4) levels. Conclusions These results demonstrate that β1-AA isolated from DCM patients binds to β1-AR on the surface of T cells, causing changes in T-cell proliferation and secretion through the β1-AR/cAMP/PKA and p38 MAPK pathways.

Abstract: Regarding the embedded processor as the core, this study utilizes various cutting-edge technologies such as wireless LAN, USB interface, Bluetooth, multimedia, etc., to propose the design program of QT-based security monitoring system. Taking the lab environment in school as an example, this system has achieved the security monitoring, information transmission and control of certain equipment. Besides, it has cut the Linux kernel module reasonably and explored the touch screen, serial port, wireless LAN, Bluetooth, USB and other resources, thus realizing various functions, such as collection and processing of audio, video and security information and wireless communication. Thereby, users can carry out real-time monitoring for multiple locations through the wireless LAN.
