Abstract: 无瓣海桑是我国首个从国外引进并大面积推广种植的红树植物,生长快,适应性强,已成为华南沿海红树林恢复造林的主要树种。但近年来无瓣海桑引种已引起较大争论,焦点是无瓣海桑是否会对乡土红树植物生长产生不利影响,是否会造成生态入侵,是否应限制推广种植。根据引种以来的研究成果,对无瓣海桑的生态适应性、种植技术、生产力与物质循环、生态影响等四个方面的引种研究进行综述;分析无瓣海桑引种对乡土红树植物生长的影响和生态入侵可能性,对无瓣海桑引种造林提出建议。指出今后无瓣海桑引种的的研究重点为:无瓣海桑引种的生态监测与入侵评估;对滩涂水生生物的影响;与乡土红树植物优化配置的混交种植技术;无瓣海桑的资源化利用。
Gene therapy with tumor-specific promoter mediated suicide gene plus IL-12 gene enhanced tumor inhibition and prolonged host survival in a murine model of Lewis lung carcinoma

Abstract: Combined gene therapy strategy with recombinant adenovirus expressing horseradish peroxidase (HRP) mediated by human telomerase reverse transcriptase (hTERT) promoter (AdhTERTHRP) and murine interleukin-12 (mIL-12) under the control of Cytomegalovirus (CMV) promoter (AdCMVmIL-12) was developed and evaluated against Lewis lung carcinoma (LLC) both in vivo and in vitro. The mechanism of action and systemic toxicities were also investigated.The combination of AdhTERTHRP/indole-3-acetic acid (IAA) treatment and AdCMVmIL-12 resulted in significant tumor growth inhibition and survival improvement compared with AdhTERTHRP/IAA alone (tumor volume, 427.4 ± 48.7 mm3 vs 581.9 ± 46.9 mm3, p = 0.005 on day 15; median overall survival (OS), 51 d vs 33 d) or AdCMVmIL-12 alone (tumor volume, 362.2 ± 33.8 mm3 vs 494.4 ± 70.2 mm3, p = 0.046 on day 12; median OS, 51 d vs 36 d). The combination treatment stimulated more CD4+ and CD8+ T lymphocyte infiltration in tumors, compared with either AdCMVmIL-12 alone (1.3-fold increase for CD4+ T cells and 1.2-fold increase for CD8+ T cells, P < 0.01) or AdhTERTHRP alone (2.1-fold increase for CD4+ T cells and 2.2-fold increase for CD8+ T cells, P < 0.01). The apoptotic cells in combination group were significantly increased in comparison with AdCMVmIL-12 alone group (2.8-fold increase, P < 0.01) or AdhTERTHRP alone group (1.6-fold increase, P < 0.01). No significant systematic toxicities were observed.Combination gene therapy with AdhTERTHRP/IAA and AdCMVmIL-12 could significantly inhibit tumor growth and improve host survival in LLC model, without significant systemic adverse effects.Over the last years, gene therapy has emerged as a promising strategy for cancer treatment [1]. Abstract: Cyclic codes are a subclass of linear codes and have applications in consumer electronics, data storage systems, and communication systems as they have efficient encoding and decoding algorithms. In this paper, a class of three-weight cyclic codes over $\gf(p)$ whose duals have two zeros is presented, where $p$ is an odd prime. The weight distribution of this class of cyclic codes is settled. Some of the cyclic codes are optimal. The duals of a subclass of the cyclic codes are also studied and proved to be optimal.

Abstract: Cyclic codes are a subclass of linear codes and have applications in consumer electronics, data storage systems, and communication systems as they have efficient encoding and decoding algorithms. In this paper, monomials and trinomials over finite fields with even characteristic are employed to construct a number of families of binary cyclic codes. Lower bounds on the minimum weight of some families of the cyclic codes are developed. The minimum weights of other families of the codes constructed in this paper are determined. The dimensions of the codes are flexible. Some of the codes presented in this paper are optimal or almost optimal in the sense that they meet some bounds on linear codes. Open problems regarding binary cyclic codes from monomials and trinomials are also presented.
A class of optimal ternary cyclic codes and their duals

Abstract: Cyclic codes are a subclass of linear codes and have applications in consumer electronics, data storage systems, and communication systems as they have efficient encoding and decoding algorithms. Let $m=2\ell+1$ for an integer $\ell\geq 1$ and $\pi$ be a generator of $\gf(3^m)^*$. In this paper, a class of cyclic codes $\C_{(u,v)}$ over $\gf(3)$ with two nonzeros $\pi^{u}$ and $\pi^{v}$ is studied, where $u=(3^m+1)/2$, and $v=2\cdot 3^{\ell}+1$ is the ternary Welch-type exponent. Based on a result on the non-existence of solutions to certain equation over $\gf(3^m)$, the cyclic code $\C_{(u,v)}$ is shown to have minimal distance four, which is the best minimal distance for any linear code over $\gf(3)$ with length $3^m-1$ and dimension $3^m-1-2m$ according to the Sphere Packing bound. The duals of this class of cyclic codes are also studied.

Abstract: Viscosities of casein in dilute 0.1 mol/L NaOH solutions at different temperatures were carefully measured.The upward phenomena of the apparent viscosity of casein in NaOH solutions was attributed to the adsorption of the solute on the inner wall of the glass capillary, and a corrected viscosity equation was used to deal with the obtained viscosity data.Five viscosity parameters have been obtained to describe the state of casein molecules in the solution and on the interface.It seemed that the size of casein molecules in solution changed little with temperature, and the adsorption layer thickness varied regularly with the adsorption amount.

Abstract: Three rRT-PCR assays targeting the 5'-UTR of ERAV and ERBV were developed. One assay was specific for ERAV, with the two remaining assays specific for ERBV. Additionally, six cRT-PCR assays targeting the 5'-UTR and 3D polymerase regions of ERAV and ERBV were developed. Both rRT-PCR and cRT-PCR assays were evaluated using RNA extracted from 21 archived tissue culture fluid (TCF) samples previously confirmed to be positive for ERAV (n?=?11) or ERBV (n?=?10) with mono-specific rabbit antisera. The ERAV rRT-PCR and cRT-PCR assays could only detect ERAV isolates and not ERBV isolates. Similarly, the ERBV rRT-PCR and cRT-PCR assays could only detect ERBV isolates and not ERAV isolates. None of the rRT-PCR or cRT-PCR assays cross-reacted with any of the other common equine respiratory viruses. With the exception of one cRT-PCR assay, the detection limit of all of these assays was 1 plaque forming unit per ml (pfu/ml).The newly developed rRT-PCR and cRT-PCR assays provide improved diagnostic capability for the detection and differentiation of ERAV and ERBV. However, a larger number of clinical specimens will need to be tested before each assay is adequately validated for the detection of ERAV and/or ERBV in suspect cases of either viral infection.The family Picornaviridae is a large family of viruses classified into several genera with extensive diversity in physical properties, antigenicity and mechanisms of pathogenesis [1]. Abstract: Optimization for the technological processes of fabricating oligonucleotide microarray by the molecular stamping method is studied in this note. Three factors that affect the pressing coupling reactions of the nucleosides are focused on: the stability of the chemical activities of the reaction solutions, the contamination of the remain of the reactive nucleotides among the different spots on the chip, and the influence of the capping reaction on the hybridization result. The experiments show that the acetonitrile solution of tetrazole and nucleoside monomer could maintain sufficient reactive activity for more than 10 h. An effective method has been used and proved to eliminate the residual reactive nucleosides on chip with small molecules containing hydroxyl group. Finally, the capping step—a regular step in the conventional DNA chemical synthesis can be neglected in our on-chip DNA synthetic process, which would not affect its hybridization results.
Construction of Frequency Hopping Sequence Set Based upon Generalized Cyclotomy

Abstract: Frequency hopping (FH) sequences play a key role in frequency hopping spread spectrum communication systems. It is important to find FH sequences which have simultaneously good Hamming correlation, large family size and large period. In this paper, a new set of FH sequences with large period is proposed, and the Hamming correlation distribution of the new set is investigated. The construction of new FH sequences is based upon Whiteman's generalized cyclotomy. It is shown that the proposed FH sequence set is optimal with respect to the average Hamming correlation bound.
