Abstract: Horikawaea is a typical genus endemic to southeastern Asia.There are three species reported.Furthermore,the three species are also recorded from China.The most northern boundary of Horikawaea is Motuo County in Tibet,China,while the most southern boundary is the Philippines.The occurrence of Horikawaea nitida from Mayanghe Presbytis fancoisi Nature Reserve is firstly reported to Guizhou Pro-(vince).According to the specimens in this genus collected from Guizhou Province,the author discussed the distribution and affiliation of species in the genus.

Abstract: The liverwort Saccogynidium muricellum (De Not.) Grolle (Geocalycaceae) is reported as a new record to mainland of China. It differs from the species Saccogynidium irregularospinum Gao, Cao, & Lai by its short, single-celled dentate in the leaf apex, and also the shorter teeth of the underleaf apex. The species is illustrated and described based on the Guizhou material.

Abstract: The structure of KLiSO4 at room temp erature was determined (C66) in 1925 by Bradley. The position of Li atom at the void on a triad was inferred but not measured. This result is in contradiction with the general theory of chemical bonding, so, recently, Meng and Cao presented a view disagreeing with it.We have redetermined the structure of KLiSO4, in particular the position of Li atom. New result shows that Li atom is located at x=1/3, y=2/3, z=0.1797(16) instead of x=1/3, y=2/3, z=0.3488 as described by Bradley. The former is roughly the same as that predicted by steric considerations in ref. 8]. Four nearest O atoms around Li atom form a tetrahedroid.

Abstract: 失碳倍半萜内酯的分子式为C14H20O3,属正交晶系,空间群为D24-P21 21 21。晶胞参数为α=7.526(3)?,b=24.642(10)?,c=6.887(2)?。晶胞内分子数z=4,计算密度Dx=1.23(g·cm-3。用RASA-IIS四圆衍射仪收集衍射强度数据。用直接法(MULTAN-80)测定晶体结构时曾遭遇失败,改善了起始套衍射点的指标分布后,才获得正确结构解。用准对角矩阵最小二乘法修正了结构参数,对全部独立可观察点,R=0.059。由差值Fouruer综合获得了全部氢原子坐标。最后就原起始套失败的原因和新选起始套的依据作了必要的分析。

Abstract: Phase development in the MULTAN procedure is based on the permutation of the starting phase set. When a new phase of a gereral reflection is derived from the combination of two special reflections of the starting set, it may result in large error. If this occurs in the early stage of the phase development, the error is difficult to be eliminated afterwards. The wrong phase should then strongly affect the process of the phase development and leads sometimes to the failure of the structure determination. One way of dealing with this problem is to check the convergence mapping carefully and change some of the reflections in the starting set. Tests have been made on modifying a starting set that led to the MULTAN failure. It turns out that just a slight but proper modification of the starting set can greatly improve the process of phase development and leads to the correct solution of the structure.

Abstract: Direct methods have been proved to be effective and objective for solving superstructures. Two algorithms have been proposed to further improve the efficiency. The first was the same number of E's in all reflection groups. The second was a set of artificial E's in phase derivation to eliminate the effect from abnormal distribution of E values. The new algorithms have been incorporated into new version of SAPI.

Abstract: In video coding system,motion estimation at half-pixel accuracy can obviously enhanced coding efficiency compared to the motion estimation at integer-pixel accuracy only.However it requires more computation at the same time.In order to reduce the computation and while enhance the speed of motion estimation at half-pixel,we proposed a novel half-pixel motion estimation algorithm named half-pixel motion estimation based on linear prediction(BLPHME) for video coding in this paper.The key point of the algorithm is setting up a linear model by analyzing the relativity between the results of integer-pixel search and half-pixel search.Then we can modify the threshold dynamically for each frame.By doing so,it can skip over the blocks that can't be benefited from the half-pixel search based on the block size.Experimental results show that significant reduction in computation of motion estimation is achieved together with the increment in bit rate by using the proposed method,but without obvious increment in bit rate and visible loss in video fidelity and increment in bit rate.Moreover,the proposed algorithm can be combined with any of the fast motion estimation algorithm at integer-pixel or half-pixel accuracy to further reduce the complexity.

Abstract: When MULTAN-78 or MULTAN-80 is empoyed to solve a crystal structure, usually only partial structure can be found at first. The remaining atoms are then located by the weighted Fourier synthesis. In this paper, however, two examples are given to show that, when most of the atomic positions are already known, especially when the known part contains heavy atoms, the unweighted Fourier synthesis can give better results than that from the weighted Fourier synthesis.MULTAN-80 has been modified to calculate also the unweighted Fourier synthesis.
