Brain as an Emergent Finite Automaton: A Theory and Three Theorems  [PDF]

Abstract: This paper models a biological brain—excluding motivation (e.g., emotions)—as a Finite Automaton in Developmental Network (FA-in-DN), but such an FA emerges incrementally in DN. In artificial intelligence (AI), there are two major schools: symbolic and connectionist. Weng 2011 [1] proposed three major properties of the Developmental Network (DN) which bridged the two schools: 1) From any complex FA that demonstrates human knowledge through its sequence of the symbolic inputs-outputs, a Developmental Program (DP) incrementally develops an emergent FA itself inside through naturally emerging image patterns of the symbolic inputs-outputs of the FA. The DN learning from the FA is incremental, immediate and error-free; 2) After learning the FA, if the DN freezes its learning but runs, it generalizes optimally for infinitely many inputs and actions based on the neuron’s inner-product distance, state equivalence, and the principle of maximum likelihood; 3) After learning the FA, if the DN continues to learn and run, it “thinks” optimally in the sense of maximum likelihood conditioned on its limited computational resource and its limited past experience. This paper gives an overview of the FA-in-DN brain theory and presents the three major theorems and their proofs.
Artificial, Natural, Underlying Factors That Affect the Arctic Climate  [PDF]

Abstract: In recent years, the Arctic climate has changed dramatically. This paper sums up the remarkable performance of climate change in the Arctic Circle by going deep into the Arctic Circle, collecting climate data and comparing it with previous years’ data and literature. The factors affecting climate change in the Arctic Circle are discussed from three aspects: artificial factors, natural factors and potential factors. The study finds out that the main factors that affect the Arctic climate are the large amount of greenhouse gases emitted by human activities, the warming of tropical ocean currents, and the potential eruption of solar flares.
Effects of Lower Heat Value Fuel on the Operations of Micro-Gas Turbine  [PDF]

Abstract: The characteristics of fuel from biomass, coal and some waste materials are lower heat value and different compositions. The lower heat value fuel (LHVF) can be used on power engine such as boiler, gas engine and gas turbine. Some laboratory and pilot work have been done, but the work done on micro-gas turbine is still limited. The characteristics of LHVF can cause the operations change of micro-gas turbine designed for nature gas. Some possible adjustment and modification methods were mentioned for the use of LHVF on micro-gas turbine. One kind of representative LHVF was chosen and the operations of micro-gas turbine were analyzed. The temperature field and the non-uniformity scale of temperature distribution of combustor were calculated using FLUENT. The feasibility of different adjustment and modification methods were analyzed according to the efficiency, output power and the non-uniformity scale of temperature distribution.
A Quantum Battle of the Sexes in Noninertial Frame  [PDF]

We investigate the influence of the Unruh effect on the quantum Battle of the Sexes (BOF). We show that the acceleration of a noninertial frame greatly affects the payoffs of the players. In the case of Battle of the Sexes, the Nash Equilibra in the inertial frame may be equilibrium but in other games this conclusion may not be true anymore. Furthermore, we also show that the new Nash Equilibria of the game played in the noninertial frame and the probability distributions of the players in the new Nash Equilibria vary with the acceleration of moving player and the degree of entanglement in the initial state shared by the players.

Abstract: Future competition not only exists in the products and channels, but also exists in the resource integration and terminal consumers. O2O mode is new commerce model which does a deeper explore to the sales channels, and has a very good prospect. But there are certain obstacles in its development. This paper analyzes their respective advantages of two kinds of sale models under the background of electronic commerce, including online electricity sales mode and offline store sales model. Then it points out the problems that are needed to solve in the development process of O2O mode. At last, this paper analyzes the five networks needing to be built in the process of O2O model integration.

Abstract: Against the backdrop of the boom in logistics industry, road freight is undertaking an increasingly important responsibility as the leading mode of cargo transportation. However, the road freight resources in our country cannot adequately meet the needs at present, due to the poor status quo of large overall scale and small individual size, the dispersion and disunity of freight, and low effective utilization. It has become a hot topic about how to better promote the wholesome and efficient advance of our domestic road freight market, for which our government, scholars or enterprises have made tremendous studies and attempts. Nevertheless, with regard to the deficiencies in the related studies, how to better use the platform in the service of its resource integration turns out to be the key of the problem. This paper by taking account the disperse condition of the road freight market resources, emphasizes the analysis of the operation mode and means of integration of the road freight platform by citing living examples as arguments for exploration and improvement, to make an systematic research; the road freight resources being the objects, platform the means, and integration the target. On account of the platform to conduct the integration, it is expected to achieve better market condition and higher efficiency, thus laying a theoretical foundation for its practical operations.

Analysis of the Positive Effect from the Typhoon Saomai to the Hydrothermal Environment of Shanghai  [PDF]

Abstract: Northwestern Pacific is the only ocean which has the most typhoon formation. The study of typhoon has far reaching significance today. Typhoon can relieve drought and make temperature drop substantially. Even we were suffering continuous high temperature in summer, the temperature would decrease immediately accompanied with typhoon. By using MODIS and weather station data to calculate the vegetation index, we analyze the drought characteristics of Shanghai during Saomai period, so that we can show the changes from the two aspects of the vegetation growth and the surface temperature. On the other hand, through the relative humidity data of Typhoon Saomai, we can find that the vegetation index and the relative humidity have been increased significantly. Typhoon rain also has its beneficial agricultural production side. It can lift the drought or ease the drought. It also provides abundant water resources for the growth of crops. In addition, the typhoon for the adjustment of the Earth’s heat, is contributed to maintain heat balance. Therefore, the typhoon to bring the changes in hydrothermal environment on the objective assessment of its impact and timely use of typhoon resources are of great significance.
