Synthesis, Structure and Insecticidal Activities of Some Novel Amides Containing N-Pyridylpyrazole Moeities

Abstract: In our search for environmentally benign insecticides with high activity, low toxicity and low residue, a novel series of amides containing N-pyridylpyrazole moieties were designed and synthesized. The structures of the title compounds were characterized and confirmed by 1H-NMR and elemental analysis. Furthermore, the structure of compound 7l was determined by single crystal X-ray diffraction. The preliminary bioassay tests showed that some of them exhibited good insecticidal activities against Mythimna separata Walker, Plutella xylostella (Linnaeus, 1758) and Laphygma exigua Hübner.
Controlling the transition between the Turing and antispiral patterns by using time-delayed-feedback

Abstract: The controllable transition between the Turing and antispiral patterns is studied by using time-delayed-feedback strategy in a FitzHugh-Nagumo model. We treat the time delay as perturbation and analyze the effect of the time delay on the Turing and Hopf instabilities near the Turing-Hopf codimension-two phase space. Numerical simulations show the transition between the Turing patterns (hexagon, stripe, and honeycomb), the dual-mode antispiral, and the antispiral by applying appropriate feedback parameters. The dual-mode antispiral pattern originates from the competition between the Turing and Hopf instabilities. Our results have shown the flexibility of the time delay on controlling the pattern formations near the Turing-Hopf codimension-two phase space.

Abstract: In the title molecule, C11H12N2O4, the dihedral angle between the benzene ring and imidazolidine ring is 7.1 (5)°. In the crystal structure, the hydroxy groups are involved in the formation of intermolecular O—H...O hydrogen bonds, which link the molecules related by translation into C(2) chains along the b axis.

Abstract: In the title compound, C17H14BrClN4O2, the pyrazole ring is almost coplanar with the benzene ring [dihedral angle = 0.5 (2)°], whereas the pyrazole ring is close to perpendicular to the 3-chloropyridine ring [dihedral angle = 73.7 (2)°]. An intramolecular C—H...O hydrogen bond occurs. The dominant interaction in the crystal packing is an N—H...N hydrogen bond, which generates a chain along the c axis. Weak intermolecular C—H...O and C—H...N contacts are also observed

Abstract: The title compound, C19H15ClN2O5S, contains two molecules (A and B) in the asymmetric unit. In molecule A, the dihedral angles between the thiazole ring and the pendant chlorobenzene and nitrobenzene rings are 72.14 (15) and 3.03 (15)°, respectively. The corresponding angles for molecule B are 45.56 (16) and 1.51 (14)°, respectively. In the crystal, both molecules form inversion dimers linked by pairs of weak C—H...O interactions.
U.S. CHINESE LANGUAGE SCHOOL’S MANAGERIAL ADAPTATIONS UNDER INTERNATIONAL IMPACT

Abstract: This study explores the international impact of Chinese language learning on the management policy of a community Chinese language school in the United States. Chinese language schools in the U.S. used to teach Mandarin to Mandarin-speaking students who are highly homogeneous in their linguistic and cultural backgrounds. However, as the impact of China's recent economic development has become more international, so has the influence of Chinese language learning? This international impact of Chinese language learning is reflected in the increasingly heterogeneous student population in many Chinese language schools in the United States. These schools have to adapt their management policy to accommodate these new students, who may have a multicultural, multilingual background and do not speak Mandarin at home. This study examines one such school.This study is a case study of a Chinese language school's adaptations in its management policy when it faces the international impact of Chinese language learning. The school, located in New York City, had one teacher, two students, two parents of these two selected students, and three administrators as participants. Data were collected through interviews and document collection. This study found that: 1. the school believed in the importance of learning Chinese and thus the necessity of well-accommodating new students of different cultural and linguistic backgrounds; and 2. the linguistic heterogeneity in the school was initiated by China's rising economy and would continue to be impacted by such an economic force in the future.
Defects in transition between different filament structures in dielectric barrier discharge

Abstract: The defects in the transition from square to square grid states are studied in a dielectric barrier discharge. It is found that there exist two kinds of defects in this transition, which are angle defect and dislocation defect. In order to investigate the formation mechanism of the defects, the light emissions from different filaments are measured, which show that the light intensity of filament in the middle of the octagonal cell is larger than that in the side. By introducing the quasi-potential field, the interactions between filaments as well as their influences on the transition between different structures are studied. From above analyses, the defects that could emerge in the transition are suggested, which are in good agreement with that observed in experiments.

Abstract: A simple and efficient synthesis of 1,2-diarylethanols has been developed. The procedure involved the reaction between a variety of toluene derivatives and aryl aldehydes under conventional heating and ultrasound irradiation. This procedure possesses several advantages such as operational simplicity, high yield, safety and environment benignancy. Ultrasound was proved to be very helpful to the reaction, markedly improving the yield and the reaction rate.

Abstract: 摘要 目的:分析牙龈瘤的临床特点、分型以及改良式牙龈瘤切除术的疗效。方法:收集61例牙龈瘤患者的临床资料,分析临床特点,以改良牙龈瘤切除术治疗,观察术后疗效。结果:61例牙龈瘤患者,平均年龄为33.2岁,20~29岁年龄段女性多发,好发于前牙区唇侧;其中,49.2%为纤维型,29.5%为肉芽肿型,21.3%为血管型;术后1、3、6个月定期复查,60例均取得了良好疗效。结论:术前常规牙周基础治疗控制口腔卫生,以松弛切口转瓣方式增加瘤区角化龈,有助于牙龈瘤切除后牙龈形态的恢复和长期疗效的维持
