Online Determination of Trace Amounts of Tannic Acid in Colored Tannery Wastewaters by Automatic Reference Flow Injection Analysis

Abstract: A simple, rapid and sensitive method was proposed for online determination of tannic acid in colored tannery wastewater by automatic reference flow injection analysis. Based on the tannic acid reduction phosphotungstic acid to form blue compound in pH 12.38 alkaline solutions, the shade of blue compound is in a linear relation to the content of tannic acid at the point of the maximum absorption peak of 760 nm. The optimal experimental conditions had been obtained. The linear range of the proposed method was between 200 g L?1 to 80 mg L?1 and the detection limit was 0.58 g L?1. The relative standard deviation was 3.08% and 2.43% for 500 g L?1 and 40 mg L?1 of tannic acid standard solution, respectively, (=10). The method had been successfully applied to determination of tannic acid in colored tannery wastewaters and the analytical results were satisfactory.

Abstract: This paper introduces a new class of optimal switching problems, where the player is allowed to switch at a sequence of exogenous Poisson arrival times, and the underlying switching system is governed by an infinite horizon backward stochastic differential equation system. The value function and the optimal switching strategy are characterized by the solution of the underlying switching system. In a Markovian setting, the paper gives a complete description of the structure of switching regions by means of the comparison principle.

Abstract: In the 6000 kN·m energy level dynamic compaction on Inner Mongolia wind-blown sand foundation treatment process, the dynamic characteristics and dynamic response are measured. Vibration action time, vibration main frequency, peak acceleration and peak velocity are analyzed. The vibration acting time is very short, the vertical average vibration acting time increases obviously with distance increasing, and the horizontal average vibration time does hardly change. The main frequency of vibration is at 4.60 - 24.90 Hz, which depends on the soil properties and soil layer distribution. The peak acceleration and peak velocity space distribution are similar. The maximum of horizontal acceleration peak is close to vertical velocity peak, and is near to 51 g under rammer. The maximum of horizontal velocity peak is close to vertical velocity peak, and is near to 54 m/s under rammer. The peak acceleration and velocity are rapidly attenuated, but the vertical peak acceleration and peak velocity are slowly attenuated than horizontal direction. The effective treating depth arrives 13 m for wind-blown wind, peak acceleration is 1.8 g or so, and peak velocity is 2.1 m/s or so. Horizontal treating range is 2.6 times of rammer diameter, and vertical treating range is 5.65 times of rammer diameter.

Abstract:
Urban rail transit has been developed rapidly in high density cities in East Asia. The node space of the pedestrian system in the rail transit hub area is the main carrier of the social public life, but its performance in usability and readability is negative. Based on the recent development cases in many cities of China and Japan, this paper puts forward the modes and approaches of node activation from three aspects of aggregation, ecology and humanity, which can be used as a reference for urban vitality promotion in the rail transit hub area.

Abstract: Urban spatial relationship of Metro Hub Area is extremely complex, and urban design guidance plays an important role in promoting the development of urban space. Firstly, urban design institution system should be established with both restraint and incentive, making it be integrated with the planning system and obtain legal status. Secondly, the special agency unit with special committees in charge of urban design should be established in the urban planning management department to strengthen the coordination between the relevant agencies. Finally, whole process multipartite mode should be established, maintaining communication and supervision at all stages of urban development, and promoting the smooth implementation of urban design.
Dual Boundary Element Method Applied to Antiplane Crack Problems

Abstract: This paper is concerned with an efficient dual boundary element method for 2d crack problems under antiplane shear loading. The dual equations are the displacement and the traction boundary integral equations. When the displacement equation is applied on the outer boundary and the traction equation on one of the crack surfaces, general crack problems with anti-plane shear loading can be solved with a single region formulation. The outer boundary is discretised with continuous quadratic elements; however, only one of the crack surfaces needs to be discretised with discontinuous quadratic elements. Highly accurate results are obtained, when the stress intensity factor is evaluated with the discontinuous quarter point element method. Numerical examples are provided to demonstrate the accuracy and efficiency of the present formulation.

Abstract: this article presents an analysis the concepts of costs of rights, resource limitation and the "under reserve of the possibilities" clause are featured in the brazilian federal supreme court case-law. by analyzing brazilian supreme court's decisions, my aim is to verify, firstly, in which subjects these themes appear more frequently. secondly, i intend to assess how this court deals with the referred themes in its case law and what are the criteria applied. finally, i attempt to examine if the judges decision making process takes into consideration economic and distributive consequences. the survey on court decisions was based on three categories of legal discussions: right to health, right to education, and federal intervention for the non-payment of judicial debts. initially, i examine the treatment received by the concepts of costs of rights, resource limitation and the "under reserve of the possibilities" clause in each category. and, subsequently, i compare the results obtained in order to highlight their differences.

Abstract: A first-principles derivation is presented of canonical distributions for a finite thermostat taking into account nonextensive energy. Parameterizing this energy by λ, we derive an explicit form for the distribution functions by regulating λ, and then explore the nontrivial relationship between these functions and energy nonextensivity, as well other system parameters such as system size. A variational entropy function is also derived from these distribution functions..
A New Representation and Algorithm for Constructing Convex Hulls in Higher Dim ensional Spaces

Abstract: This paper presents a new and simple scheme to describe the convex hull in R^d,which only uses three kinds of the faces of the convex hull.i.e.,the d-1-faces,d-2-faces and 0-faces.Thus,we develop and efficient new algorithm for constructing the convex hull of a finite set of points incrementally.This algorithm employs much less storage and time than that of the previously-existing approaches.The analysis of the runniing time as well as the storage for the new algorithm is also theoretically made.The algorithm is optimal in the worst case for even d.
Optimal placement of mobile sensors for data assimilations

Abstract: We explore the theoretical framework as well as the associated algorithms for the problem of optimally placing mobile observation platforms to maximise the improvement of estimation accuracy. The approach in this study is based on the concept of observability, which is a quantitative measure of the information provided by sensor data and user-knowledge. To find the optimal sensor locations, the observability is maximised using a gradient projection method. The Burgers equation is used to verify this approach. To prove the optimality of the sensor locations, Monte Carlo experimentations are carried out using standard 4D-Var algorithms based on two sets of data, one from equally spaced sensors and the other from the optimal sensor locations. The results show that, relative to equally spaced sensors, the 4D-Var data assimilation achieves significantly improved estimation accuracy if the sensors are placed at the optimal locations. A robustness study is also carried out in which the error covariance matrix is varied by 50% and the sensor noise covariance is varied by 100%. In addition, both Gaussian and uniform probability distributions are used for the sensor noise and initial estimation errors. In all cases, the optimal sensor locations result in significantly improved estimation accuracy.
