Studies on Modelizing the Effects of Immobilized Cell Distribution on Kinetics

Abstract: A nonuniform distribution model of immobilized cells was established by the studies on immobilized Gluconobacter oxydans and Bacillus cereus living cells. It was compared with uniform distribution model. Effects of the two typical cell distribution on substrate distribution in immobilized biocatalyst, effective rate factor and selective yield were discussed. No obvious difference was observed between the effects of uniform cell distribution and that of nonuniform cell distribution on kinetics of immobilized G. oxydans and B. cereus living cells, which was then confirmed in experiments. The conclusion is also fit for the studies on kinetics of other immobilized biocatalyst system.

Abstract:

Designing and developing computer-assisted image processing techniques to help doctors improve their diagnosis has received considerable interests over the past years. In this paper, we used the kolmogorov complexity model to analyze the CT images of the healthy liver and multiple daughter hydatid cysts. Before the complexity characteristic calculating, the image preprocessing methods had been used for image standardization. From the kolmogorov complexity model, complexity characteristic were calculated in order to quantify the complexity, between healthy liver and multiple daughter hydatid cysts. Then we use statistical method to analyze the complexity characteristic of those two types of images. Our preliminary results show that the complexity characteristic has statistically significant (p<0.05) to analyze these two types CT images, between the healthy liver and the multiple daughter hydatid cysts. Furthermore, the result leads us to the conclusion that the kolmogorov complexity model could use for analyze the hydatid disease and will also extend the analysis the other lesions of liver.

Abstract: Bacillus stearothermophilus was embedded in sodium alginate, chitosan, gelatin respectively and utilized for galacto-oligosaccharides (GOS) production. By comparing with each other in the enzyme recovery, optimal reaction conditions, yields of GOS and mechanical strength of the carriers, the gelatin was selected as better carrier for immobilization. pH, temperature, lactose concentration, lactose conversion and mass transfer resistance of carrier significantly influenced the Yield of GOS. The maximum yield of GOS was 31.2% in a stirred reactor with lactose concentration at 60%. It remained about 88% after 96 h (8 batches) reaction. A packed bed was employed for a continuous reaction at space velocity 0.09 h-1, where GOS yield and reactor productivity was 31.5% and 17.4% respectively. It lost about 20% of its original yield of GOS after 140 h reaction. Products were separated by active charcoal columm. The chemical structure of tetrasaccharide identified by 13C-NMR was beta-D-Gal-(1-->3)-D-Gal-(1-->6)-Dal-(1-->4)-D-Glu.

Abstract: Novel CdS and Bi2S3 hollow nanospheres were prepared by simple “one-pot” biomolecule-assisted hydrothermal method using glutathione (GSH) as sulfur source and structure-directing reagents. The single-phase CdS and Bi2S3 photocatalysts were capable of evolving H2 from aqueous solutions containing a sacrificial electron donor, under visible light irradiation (λ ≥ 420 nm) with Pt co-catalyst. A possible formation mechanism of complexation, S-C bond rupture, and spherical aggregate followed isotropic Ostwal ripening or anisotropic Ostwal ripening was proposed in this study.

There is few kind of edible flower in domestic market, however, occasion for the business has already been on the way. To catch the chance of renaissance of anthophagy culture to develop the flower foodstuff and the domestic edible flower market today, mean the flower foodstuff would be one of the most spring product in our country, anthophagy tradition would became popular again. Depuis ces dernières années, au fur et à mesure du changement de conception sur l’environnement et la santé, la vogue de manger les fleurs voit le jour dans beaucoup de pays étrangers où les aliments floraux sont très populaires. Sur la marché domestique, bien qu’il n’y eut pas encore les aliments floraux, les opportunités commerciales potentielles se révèlent de jour en jour. Si l’on peut saisir l’opportunité pour faire valoir la tradition de manger les fleurs, explorer les aliments floraux modernes et développer le marché aux fleurs comestibles, nous sommes s rs que, dans un proche avenir, les fleurs comestibles et les aliments floraux contitueront une industrie pleine de vitalité en Chine et que la pratique de manger les fleurs se prospèrera de nouveau. Abstract: The degradation mechanism of p-chlorophenol in the aqueous solution by pulsed high-voltage discharge plasma was explored by measuring the oxidant species generated due to the pulsed high-voltage discharge in the aqueous solution and by comparing the technique experimental results of various conditions. When oxygen was bubbled to the aqueous solution in the discharge reactor through the discharge electrode, the organic pollutants in the aqueous solution were degradated through the following steps. First, ozone was formed due to the oxygen discharge in the strong electric field. And then ozone transfered from gas bubble to the aqueous solution containing p-chlorophenol. In the aqueous solution, ozone could decompose to form ·OH radical. The ozone and ·OH radical in the aqueous solution could react with the p-chlorophenol contained in the aqueous solution. The investigation of the organic pollutant degradation mechanism in the aqueous solution could provide the theoretical base to the mathematical modeling of the organic pollutants degradation by the pulsed high-voltage discharge plasma in the aqueous solution.

Abstract: Ti-Ni alloy hydrogen storage films, but particularly amorphous one at room temperature, were prepared by ion beam sputtering method with a composite target of Ti and Ni plate. The films have superior adhesion to substrate and anti-pulverizability. It was found that its hydrogen discharge capacity becomes higher after the amorphous film crystallized by annealing.
