Evaluation of Influence of Acupuncture and Electro-Acupuncture for Blood Perfusion of Stomach by Laser Doppler Blood Perfusion Imaging

Abstract: The objective of this study is to observe effects of acupuncture and electro-acupuncture (EA) on blood perfusion in the stomach, and probe into the application of laser Doppler blood perfusion imaging technique in the study of the effect of acupuncture and moxibustion on the entrails. In the acupuncture group of 20 rats, acupuncture was given at “Zusanli” (ST 36) and in EA group of 18 rats, EA was applied at “Zusanli” (ST 36), with 18 rats without acupuncture used as control group. Changes of blood perfusion and microcirculation distribution in the stomach were investigated with laser Doppler blood perfusion imager (LDPI). The laser Doppler blood perfusion image could clearly display changes of blood flow distribution in the stomach before and after acupuncture. After acupuncture or EA was given at “Zusanli” (ST 36), the blood perfusion in the stomach increased significantly, the blood perfusion in the blood vessels and microcirculation of other parts significantly increased, and the maximum increase of the blood perfusion was found at 10 min after acupuncture or EA, with increases of 0.50 _ 0.11 (PU) and 0.66 _ 0.16 (PU), respectively, and the blood perfusion still kept at a higher degree within 10 min after ceasing of the acupuncture or EA. While the blood perfusion in the stomach in the rat of the control group tended to gradual decrease. It has been concluded that both acupuncture and EA can increase blood perfusion in the stomach, the EA having stronger action, and LDPI can display the regulative action of acupuncture on the blood vessel of the stomach by using an image.

Experimental study on operative methods of pancreaticojejunostomy with reference to anastomotic patency and postoperative pancreatic exocrine function

Abstract: AIM: To assess the patency of pancreaticoenterostomy and pancreatic exocrine function after three surgical methods.METHODS: A pig model of pancreatic ductal dilation was made by ligating the main pancreatic duct. After 4 wk ligation, a total of 36 piglets were divided randomly into four groups. The piglets in the control group underwent laparotomy only; the others were treated by three anastomoses: (1) end-to-end pancreaticojejunostomy invagination (EEPJ); (2) end-to-side duct-to-mucosa sutured anastomosis (ESPJ); or (3) binding pancreaticojejunostomy (BPJ). Anastomotic patency was assessed after 8 wk by body weight gain, intrapancreatic ductal pressure, pancreatic exocrine function secretin test, pancreatography, and macroscopic and histologic features of the anastomotic site.RESULTS: The EEPJ group had significantly slower weight gain than the ESPJ and BPJ groups on postoperative weeks 6 and 8 (P < 0.05). The animals in both the ESPJ and BPJ groups had a similar body weight gain. Intrapancreatic ductal pressure was similar in ESPJ and BPJ. However, pressure in EEPJ was significantly higher than that in ESPJ and BPJ (P < 0.05). All three functional parameters, the secretory volume, the flow rate of pancreatic juice, and bicarbonate concentration, were significantly higher in ESPJ and BPJ as compared to EEPJ (P < 0.05). However, the three parameters were similar in ESPJ and BPJ. Pancreatography performed after EEPJ revealed dilation and meandering of the main pancreatic duct, and the anastomotic site exhibited a variable degree of occlusion, and even blockage. Pancreatography of ESPJ and BPJ, however, showed normal ductal patency. Histopathology showed that the intestinal mucosa had fused with that of the pancreatic duct, with a gradual and continuous change from one to the other. For EEPJ, the portion of the pancreatic stump protruding into the jejunal lumen was largely replaced by cicatricial fibrous tissue.CONCLUSION: A mucosa-to-mucosa pancreaticojejunostomy is the best choice for anastomotic patency when compared with EEPJ. BPJ can effectively maintain anastomotic patency and preserve pancreatic exocrine function as well as ESPJ.
Facile Synthesis and Tensile Behavior of TiO2 One-Dimensional Nanostructures

Abstract: High-yield synthesis of TiO2 one-dimensional (1D) nanostructures was realized by a simple annealing of Ni-coated Ti grids in an argon atmosphere at 950 °C and 760 torr. The as-synthesized 1D nanostructures were single crystalline rutile TiO2 with the preferred growth direction close to [210]. The growth of these nanostructures was enhanced by using catalytic materials, higher reaction temperature, and longer reaction time. Nanoscale tensile testing performed on individual 1D nanostructures showed that the nanostructures appeared to fracture in a brittle manner. The measured Young’s modulus and fracture strength are ~56.3 and 1.4 GPa, respectively.
The Algorithm of Automatic Organization of Complex View Outline Information Based on Midpoint Method

Abstract: The information of view outline is one of the important issues in computer Graphics.It plays an important role in automatic partitioning of engineering drawings,assembly diagram processing and dimension arrangement.Lots of experts have proposed many methods to these issues.To improve the efficiency of acquisition of view outline information and solve the problem of existing methods which require angle discriminance and much calculation,this paper puts forward automatically acquires the information of view outline based on midpoint method.At first,this method sorts the candidate path according to the quadrant of coordinate system,and then fleetly eliminates some candidate path by directly comparing their coordinate values.Thirdly,according to the midpoint method,the candidate path which was distinguished arduously can be determined finally.The midpoint method only includes shift and subtraction calculation,avoids complex angle calculation and nodical acquisition calculation,so the efficiency of this method can be improved.This method is applicable in automatic organization of complex view outline information.The result of test indicates that this method is a simple,highly efficient and reliable algorithm.

Abstract: To solve the problem of acquiring the information of view outline, some experts have proposed many methods. But there are too much calculation and too complex determinant in prevail methods, which has become an important problem. Based on topological mapping, this paper puts forward automatically acquiring the information of view outline. At first, based on topological mapping principle, the method maps points of the candidate path onto the projection line. And then, using the topological sequence compatibility of points on the projection line and the candidate path, the problem of determining the trend of the next branch is converted to decision of the trend of projection lines. Finally, according to the sort order of mapping points, the path can be determined. Since the projection line is horizontal, it is easy and convenient to obtain the mapping points. This algorithm also saliently improves the computation efficiency by refraining from the complex angular calculations. Moreover, the algorithm will play an important role in automatic partitioning of engineering drawings, assembly diagram processing and dimension arrangement.

Abstract: The curve discretization is one of the fundamental issues in triangulation of planar region and the parameter domain of curved surface. In this paper, the conception of the curve's local feature point is presented. A fast algorithm for the acquisition of the curve's local feature point is proposed, according to the theory of parallel. Through optimizing the local feature point, the needless local feature point is omitted, and the feature point set requisite is obtained. Accordingly the curve discretization is realized, making use of the curve's local feature point. In the course of curve discretization, the quality influence of the succeeding triangulation, resulted by the tolerance of the discretization precision and the length of the approximation polygon edge, is fully considered in this method. If the approximation precision is high, the curve surface crack can be avoided. If the edge of the approximation polygon is too short, too dense triangle mesh will be created, which will result in long computation time and more memory space, or the long and narrow triangle mesh will be produced, which will make the quality of triangle mesh worse. Experiments indicate that the polygon consisting of the feature points can perfectly approximate the curve, and the algorithm is highly efficient.

Abstract: The paper presents a method for solving the terminal region of model predictive control (MPC) for nonlinear systems with constraints.Based on linear matrix inequality (LMI) optimization and norm-bounded linear differential inclusion (LDI) of nonlinear system,we develop an approach to offline choose the terminal cost and fictitious local stabilizing control law so as to gain the terminal region.A numerical example is given to illustrate the effectiveness of the proposed results.
