Microemuls o. ABSTRACT Microemulsion: a promising carrier system for insoluble compounds Microemulsions (ME) are thermodynamically stable and isotropic systems of two immiscible liquids (oil/water), stabilized by an interfacial film of surfactants, discovered by Hoar and Schulman in 1943. The study of ME formation is based on three areas of theory: (1) solubilization, (2) interfacial tension and (3) thermodynamics. ME structures are influenced by the physicochemical properties and proportions of their ingredients. The goal of this review is to assess the state of the art of microemulsified systems, from a theoretical viewpoint. Also, recent progress on their clinical application and use as carriers for insoluble compounds is discussed. Keywords: Microemulsion. Pharmaceutical Application. Phase Diagram.
Similarity between the in vitro activity and toxicity of two different fungizone™ / lipofundin™ admixtures

Abstract: purpose: amphotericin b (amb), an antifungal agent that presents a broad spectrum of activity, remains the gold standard in the antifungal therapy. however, sometimes the high level of toxicity forbids its clinical use. the aim of this work was to evaluate and compare the efficacy and toxicity in vitro of fungizon? (amb-d) and two new different amb formulations. methods: three products were studied: fungizon?, and two fungizon? /lipofundin? admixtures, which were diluted through two methods: in the first one, fungizon? was previously diluted with water for injection and then, in lipofundin? (amb-dal); the second method consisted of a primary dilution of amb-d as a powder in the referred emulsion (amb-dl). for the in vitro assay, two cell models were used: red blood cells (rbc) from human donors and candida tropicallis (ct). the in vitro evaluation (k+ leakage, hemoglobin leakage and cell survival rate-csr) was performed at four amb concentrations (from 50 to 0.05mg.l-1). results: the results showed that the action of amb was not only concentration dependent, but also cellular type and vehicle kind dependent. at amb concentrations of 50 mg.l-1, although the hemoglobin leakage for amb-d was almost complete (99.51), for amb-dal and amb-dl this value tended to zero. the p = 0.000 showed that amb-d was significantly more hemolytic. conclusion: the fungizon?-lipofundin? admixtures seem to be the more valuable amb carrier systems due to their best therapeutic index presented.
Point-contact spectroscopy of the antiferromagnetic superconductor HoNi2B2C
Yu. G. Naidyuk,O. E. Kvitnitskaya,I. K. Yanson,G. Fuchs,K. Nenkov,A. Walte,G. Behr,D. Souptel,S. -L. Drechsler
Physics , 2006, DOI: 10.1016/j.physc.2007.03.165
Abstract: The point-contact (PC) spectroscopy study of the electron-phonon(boson) interaction (EP(B)I) spectral function in HoNi2B2C reveals phonon maxima at 16 and 22meV and 34meV. For the first time the pronounced high energy maxima at about 50meV and 100meV were resolved. Additionally, an admixture of a crystalline-electric-field (CEF) excitation with a maximum near 10meV and a `magnetic` peak near 3meV are observed. The contribution of the CEF peak in EP(B)I constant \lambda_{PC} is evaluated as 20-30%, while contribution of the high frequency modes at 50 and 100meV amounts about 10% for each maxima. PC Andreev reflection measurements below the critical temperature T_c=8.5K reveals two different superconducting (SC) states separated by T_c^*=5.6K which is close to the Neel temperature T_N=5.3K. Below T_c^* the gap \Delta in HoNi2B2C exhibits a standard single-band BCS-like behavior with 2\Delta/kT_c^*=3.9. Above T_c^* the gap features in PC spectra are strongly suppressed pointing to a peculiar SC state between T_c^* and T_c, where incommensurate magnetic order develops.
Sales, Léa Silveira;
Fractal : Revista de Psicologia , 2008, DOI: 10.1590/S1984-02922008000100020
Abstract: during the 50's, it prevails in lacan's work a structuralist interpretation of psychoanalysis which inverts the approaching of the unconscious, assigning effectiveness to something that was formerly disqualified as "inert and unthinkable". in this context, it gains relief a re-reading of the oedipus complex whose terms are clearly inspired in lévi-strauss. the purpose of this paper is to shed some light upon the function fulfilled by the signifiers "name-of-the-father" and "phallus" as "zero symbols" of the structure of desire. the way such kind of symbols were described by the anthropologist reveals why this function was requested by the psychoanalyst.
Sales, Léa Silveira;
ágora: Estudos em Teoria Psicanalítica , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S1516-14982010000100002
Abstract: the passage from "i think" to "i exist" in jaakko hintikka and in jacques lacan. although lacan validates the cogito in the act of enunciation, the interest that he deposits in it is far from the existential auto-verifiability of the proposition "i exist" as sustained by jaako hintikka. even if both of them assume the need of referring the act of representation to something beyond the level of representation (the performative qualification of the cogito), while the philosopher concentrates the power of the cartesian argument om the proposition "i exist" - for we would know to whom this "i" would be refered to -, to the psychoanalyst this is exactly the proposition which is threatened by invalidation and, such knowledge, the one that must be questioned.
Passagem da compreens?o à verdade: contribui??o do estruturalismo à teoria lacaniana da psicose
Sales, Léa Silveira;
ágora: Estudos em Teoria Psicanalítica , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S1516-14982007000200005
Abstract: passage from comprehension to truth: structuralism?s contribution to the lacanian psychosis theory. from comprehension to truth: structuralism?s contribution lacanian theory of psychosis. the argument tries to show that it is the insertion into the structuralist rationality that finally leads lacan to provide the description of a specific device in the causation of psychosis, allowing, through the distinction between knowledge and truth, the overcoming of the impasses of his doctoral thesis, then based on criteria of social consent and on the attempt to overlap explanation and comprehension.
A filosofia concreta de Alexandre Kojève e a teoria do imaginário de Jacques Lacan
Sales, Léa Silveira;
Paidéia (Ribeir?o Preto) , 2002, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-863X2002000300003
Abstract: lacan's interest for dialectics is not related to hegelian idealism. what attracts him is the specificity of the kojèvian reading as it promotes an anthropologization of the phenomenology of mind. with this approach, hegel's absolute idealism becomes a concrete philosophy. since it was the philosophy that influenced lacan's theoretical production, the aims of this article are to accomplish its general exhibition and to point out some important moments of the crossing between dialectical anthropogenesis and lacanian discourse, specially emphasizing three segments: what lacan takes from kojève for the construction of his own imaginary theory, in which points he differs from this philosophy and its influence in the transition movement from imaginary to symbolic.
Sales, Léa Silveira;
Psicologia em Estudo , 2010, DOI: 10.1590/S1413-73722010000100021
Abstract: the appearance of the notion of a lack in the other corresponds, in lacan's work, to the fact that the specificity of psychoanalytical thought obliges the theory to assimilate the impossibility of a totalizing structure that, completely overwhelming the subject, would turn it into a kind of epiphenomenon of the signifier. the paper has the aim of providing some guidance for the understanding of this movement especially as it crosses the levi-straussian approaching of structure. in order to do this, it will follow two axles: the first one is the idea that there is nothing within discourse that is capable of functioning as a guarantee of discourse and the second that of the prevalence of an empirico-transcendental duplicity in the concept of other.
Sales, Léa Silveira;
Psicologia USP , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-65642009000400004
Abstract: in the most structuralist period of lacan’s work - the one that takes place during the beginning of the 50’s -, there is an insistence on the separation of desire from the object which results, not only from the approach that kojève had provided for the topic, but now, specially from the instruments presented by the idea of structure. the article investigates the details of this process and indicates in which sense it leads desire to a transcendental plan.
Sales, Léa Silveira;
Psicologia USP , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0103-65642007000300005
Abstract: the years of 1954 and 1955 correspond to a moment of lacan's work which can be indicated as the summit of the reference to a structure that, conformed by signifiers, answers for the total determination of the subject. the "subject effect", according to its own definition, comes explicitly to dispense associations with the human being in the sense of what this expression could bear of an indication, whatsoever, of a vital support. with the construction of the graph of desire (1957), the problem begins to receive a new configuration. since then, we see an insistent retrieval of a role to be assigned to the body in the constitution of desire that arises from the way we think of its relation to necessity and to demand. this paper approaches the terms of this reinsertion and tries to indicate in which sense it begins to circumscribe one of the vectors of the surpassing of the structuralist rationality.
