Wadi Bnouhanna, Amal Satté, Jamal Mounach, Hamid Ouhabi
Open Access Library Journal (OALib Journal) , 2019, DOI: 10.4236/oalib.1105705
Abstract:
Stroke is the most common cause of seizures, symptomatic epilepsy, and status epilepticus in elderly. Symptomatic stroke-related seizures symptoms are dependent on lesions topography. All types of focal seizures can be observed. Many clinical studies make a distinction between early (within 7 to 14 days of stroke onset) and late (beyond 14 days of stroke onset) seizures based on presumed physiopathological differences. The diagnosis of a seizure during the acute phase of a stroke can be difficult in the absence of a witness when there are disorders of vigilance and speech. The use of antiepileptic drugs is discussed in all cases. New antiepileptic drugs appear to be most appropriate. The aim of this study is to present an overview of the epidemiological, clinical and therapeutic features of vascular epilepsy based on meta-analyses and the more recently published expert recommendations.
A Explos?o dos úteros: Mulheres palestinianas entre o patriarcal e o colonial
Wadi,Shahd;
Ex aequo , 2010,
Abstract: in different wars throughout history, women and their bodies were always considered ?objects? of different conflicting forces to practice their power and influence. since the israeli occupation of palestine in 1948, the israeli-palestinian conflict has become one of the most complicated in modern history. the palestinian nationalist patriarchal discourse consider the bodies of palestinian women as a weapon against the women themselves and against the enemy, while israel uses the same bodies to control the palestinian people in general. palestinian women, on the other hand, bring their bodies to be the resisting tool of its patriarchal society and the israeli occupation at the same time. by analyzing the representations of palestinian women's bodies in ?life histories?, this article looks through the resistance and silencing of women's bodies simultaneously and comparatively.

Abstract: the current fight to de-institutionalize madness has brought forward the issues of medical-psychiatric knowledge?s legitimacy and of the limits of its power over madness. the paper reconstructs some of the movements of nascent psychiatry in rio grande do sul through examination of an issue that was fiercely debated by alienists at the hospício s?o pedro de porto alegre, that is, the question of institutional commitment of ?mad? individuals. by focusing on this scenario during 1884-94, it becomes possible to understand how from early on the protagonists organized some of their tactical movements and sought to establish power relationships by conquering the institutional space where the insane were to be kept. as territories where medical knowledge was fighting for recognition and power, these movements were characterized by criticism, discord, and fickleness. they were part of the process by which psychiatry was constructed in rio grande do sul and are prerequisite to understanding its modernity.

Cyto-Morphology of Three Solanum species in Aseer Region South-West Saudi Arabia
Hussein M. Al Wadi
Journal of Biological Sciences , 2002,
Abstract: Morphological and cytological characters of three species of spiny Solanum from Aseer region, southwest Saudi Arabia were investigated, namely, Solanum forsskalii Kotschy ex Dunal and Solanmun glabratum Dunal var sepicula (Dunal) J.R.I. Wood. This work aims to explore cytological and morphological relationship between the taxa under consideration. Solanum macracanthum A. Rich, is characterized by different morphological features, especially its reproductive organs, which indicated low productivity of this taxon and pointed out to its hybrid situation. Cytological investigation of the three species proved that S. forsskalii Kotschy ex Dunal and S. glabratum Dunal var sepicula (Dunal) J.R. I Wood are stable cytologically while S. macracanthum A. Rich shows irregular meiosis. This conclusion supported the morphological study and both indicated the hybrid situation of S. macracanthum. Statistical treatment of the available morphological data suggests that S. forsskalii Kotschy ex Dunal is a probable parent of S. macracanthum A. Rich.
