Abstract: In the title complex, [Gd2(C9H4N2O4)2(C9H5N2O4)2(H2O)2]n, two of the benzimidazole-5,6-dicarboxylate ligands are protonated at the imidazole groups. Each GdIII ion is coordinated by six O atoms and one N atom from five ligands and one water molecule, displaying a distorted bicapped trigonal-prismatic geometry. The GdIII ions are linked by the carboxylate groups and imidazole N atoms, forming a layer parallel to (001). These layers are further connected by O—H...O and N—H...O hydrogen bonds into a three-dimensional supramolecular network.

Abstract: A novel camera calibration technique has been proposed,which is based on plane-based camera calibration technique and precise control points extracted by Fourier Transform Profilometry. The higher 2D image coordinates of those control points could be got with respect to the wrapped phase distributions of the crossed sinusoid fringe model plane with previously-known 2D reference coordinates. And then the calibration procedure will be done by plane-based camera calibration technique after measuring the wrapped phase distributions of the model plane at several different orientations. The higher accuracy of phase measuring will provide the control points with higher precision and could lead to a better calibration result. Experimental data has confirmed the proposed technique is easy to use, reliable, high accurate and high-speed.
SLE and alpha-SLE driven by Levy processes

Abstract: Stochastic Loewner Evolutions (SLE) with a multiple sqrt(kappa)B of Brownian motion B as driving process are random planar curves (if kappa<=4) or growing compact sets generated by a curve (if kappa>4). We consider here more general Levy processes as driving processes and obtain evolutions expected to look like random trees or compact sets generated by trees, respectively. We show that when the driving force is of the form sqrt(kappa)B+theta^(1/alpha)S for a symmetric alpha-stable Levy process S, the cluster has zero or positive Lebesgue measure according to whether kappa<=4 or kappa>4. We also give mathematical evidence that a further phase transition at alpha=1 is attributable to the recurrence/transience dychotomy of the driving Levy process. We introduce a new class of evolutions that we call alpha-SLE. They have alpha-self-similarity properties for alpha-stable Levy driving processes. We show the phase transition at a critical coefficient theta=theta_0(alpha) analogous to the kappa=4 phase transition.

Abstract: 采用腹腔注射方式(每周1次,共5次)将生活于淡水或海水中的日本鳗鲡(Anguilla japonica)暴露于三丁基锡氯化物(TBTCl)和菲(Phe),以研究这两种污染物对鳗鲡的毒性效应以及该效应与鱼体所处环境盐度的关系. 鳗鲡暴露于TBTCl或Phe 1w后,其肝脏和脾脏的组织结构就已发生明显病变,且病变程度随着暴露时间的延长而加剧,其中海水鳗鲡比淡水鳗鲡表现更为严重;但肝体指数(HSI)和性腺组织结构均无明显变化. 暴露于TBTCl 4~5w后,海水鳗鲡肝脏的谷胱甘肽-S-转移酶(GST)活性比对照组显著升高,而淡水鳗鲡组无明显变化;暴露于TBTCl或Phe 3w后,淡水鳗鲡的血浆皮质醇水平显著升高,但海水鳗鲡组无明显变化. TBTCl和Phe对淡水或海水鳗鲡的血浆雌二醇(E2)水平均无明显影响. 以上结果表明:有机锡和菲对鳗鲡的肝脏、脾脏有毒性作用,对皮质醇分泌具有内分泌干扰作用,且该效应与暴露时间和鱼体所处环境盐度有关.

Abstract: In the structure of the title compound, [RuCl2(C16H14N2O)(C18H15P)]·CH3OH, he RuII ion shows a slightly distorted octahedral coordination by two N atoms and one O atom from the 2-methyl-8-(pyridin-2-ylmethoxy)quinoline acting as an N,O,N′-tridentate ligand, two Cl atoms, and one P atom from a PPh3 ligand. The two Cl atoms adopt a cis arrangement with the PPh3 ligand trans to one Cl atom. The N,O,N′-tridentate ligand occupies a mer position in the coordination sphere.

Abstract: This study evaluated the effect of selenium-enriched fermentation mycelia of C. comatus (SMCC) on reducing oxidative stress and hyperglycemia in alloxan-induced diabetic mice. After induction of diabetes, a significant increase of the levels of blood glucose and lipid peroxidation associated with the diminution of superoxide dismutase (SOD) and glutathione peroxidase (GSH-Px) was observed in all diabetic mice. Treatment of diabetic mice with SMCC for 21 days resulted in a significant reduction in blood glucose and the injuries of pancreas. In addition, a significant increase in the activities of SOD and GSH-Px and a significant decrease in the content of malondialdehyde (MDA) were observed in serum, liver and kidney. The results showed that SMCC might be able to inhibit hyperglycemia, and helpful in the prevention of diabetic complications associated with oxidative damage. It is concluded that SMCC possesses potent antioxidant activity, which may be directly or indirectly responsible for inhibiting hyperglycemia of alloxan-induced diabetic mice.

Abstract: 采用酪蛋白为蛋白源、鱼油为脂肪源, 配制脂肪含量为8%而蛋白水平分别为24%、28%、32%、36%和40%, 以及蛋白含量为32%而脂肪水平分别为3%、6%、9%和12%的9 种配合饲料, 对黄斑蓝子鱼(Siganus canaliculatus)幼鱼开展8 周的生长试验, 以研究其对蛋白质和脂肪的适宜需要量。结果显示, 饲料中的蛋白质和脂肪含量对蓝子鱼的生长性能、饲料利用率及鱼体生化成分等都有一定的影响。蛋白水平过高(40%)或过低(24%)的饲料组鱼的生长效果较差; 32%蛋白水平组鱼的增质量率和蛋白质效率最好、且显著高于其他各组, 而饲料系数显著低于其他各组。鱼体的蛋白质含量随着饲料蛋白水平的增加而呈上升趋势, 但水分、粗脂肪和灰分的含量不受影响。3% ~ 9%脂肪水平组鱼的增质量率、饲料系数和蛋白质效率相互间无显著差异, 但它们的增质量率及蛋白质效率显著高于12%脂肪水平组鱼, 而饲料系数正好相反。肝体指数和鱼体脂肪含量随着饲料脂肪水平的增加而升高, 但鱼体的蛋白质和水分含量受饲料脂肪水平的影响不大。3%脂肪水平组鱼的成活率较低。根据增质量率及蛋白质效率与饲料蛋白水平的二次回归分析, 获得蓝子鱼幼鱼对蛋白质的适宜需要量为29.01% ~ 34.37%; 综合考虑上述指标, 认为蓝子鱼幼鱼饲料中脂肪的适宜添加量为6% ~ 9%。

Abstract: Astragaluspolysaccharides (APS) isolated from one of the Chinese herbs, Astragalus mongholicus, are known to have a variety of immunomodulatory activities. Abstract: Lipoprotein lipase is a central enzyme in the lipid metabolism, which catalyses the hydrolysis of the triacylglycerol component of chylomicrons and very low density lipoproteins, thereby providing fatty acids and monoacylglycerol for tissue utilisation. LPL gene mutation may affect the activity of LPL, and results in lipid metabolism disorder. It is associated with type 2 diabetes, hypertension, atherosclerosis, obesity and corony artery disease. Here we review the structure, function, expression regulation of the LPL gene along with its association with complex diseases.
Computational biology strategy for identification of complex disease genes

Abstract: For the past two decades, the dominant methods to identify susceptibility genes of complex disease were linkage analysis and association study. Linkage analysis usually identifies broad intervals, which can encompass dozens to hundreds of candidate genes. Transition from quantitative trait loci to gene has been a challenge due to the absence of com-plete functional information for the majority of genes in this susceptibility locus and limited knowledge of the link between gene function and disease. Recently, computational biology tools that employ information extracted from public online da-tabases have been developed. In this review, we introduced principles of DGP, GeneSeeker, Prioritizer, PROSPECTR and SUSPECTS (P and S), and Endeavor, then used the prediction of susceptibility genes for type 2 diabetes mellitus/obesity and osteoporosis as examples to elucidate the application of computational biology strategies, and finally discuss the limita-tions and prospects of these methods.
