New blind watermarking scheme for digital image based on Contourlet transform and double encryption

Abstract: In this paper, a blind digital image watermarking scheme by double encryption and Contourlet transform is proposed. Firstly, the watermarking is encrypted, then the original image is decomposed by using Contourlet, the low-pass sub-band and band-pass sub-band are required, then the relations between the Contourlet coefficient and the determinant is created. According to the relations, the watermark is embedded on the Contourlet low frequency coefficients. In addition, no host image is needed in watermark extraction, which is a blind watermarking algorithm. Experimental results show that the digital image watermarking has good imperceptibility and robustness against the attacks of JPEG compression, low-pass filtering, noise addition, scaling and cropping. The dual encryption of the watermark improves the security of the system.
High-performance evanescently-coupled uni-traveling-carrier photodiodes

Abstract: A new evanescently-coupled uni-traveling-carrier photodiode (EC-UTC PD) based on a multimode diluted waveguide (MDW) structure is fabricated, analysed and characterized. Optical and electrical characteristics of the device are investigated. The excellent characteristics are demonstrated such as a responsivity of 0.36~A/W, a bandwidth of 11.5~GHz and a small-signal 1-dB compression current greater than 18~mA at 10~GHz. The saturation current is significantly improved compared with those of similar evanescently-coupled pin photodiodes. The radio frequency (RF) bandwidth can be further improved by eliminating RF losses induced by the cables, the probe and the bias tee between the photodiode and the spectrum analyzer.

Numerical Simulation of Copper Flash Smelting Process with Rotarily Distributed Air

Abstract: A modification scheme was put forward to change the straightly distributed air in the central jet distributor(CJD) concentrate burner into rotarily distributed air in copper flash smelting furnace,and simulations were carried out to investigate the distributions of velocity,temperature and concentration fields of both the gaseous and particle phases in two burner schemes.Comparison of two simulation results show that the rotarily distributed air is more conducive to improvement of the mixing and reaction process between the gas and particles,which will result in the increase of oxygen utilization by 4.5%,however,as small particles tend to be more easily affected by the rotarily distributed air,the dust generation rate will also increase in such a condition.

Abstract: To investigate the effect of budesonide on substance P (NK-1) receptor (NK-1R) expression in the lung and ASMCs, 45 Wistar rats were randomly divided into three groups: control, asthmatic, and budesonide treatment. Aerosolized ovalbumin was used to generate the asthmatic rat model, and budesonide was administered after ovalbumin inhalation. On day 21, bronchial responsiveness tests, bronchoalveolar lavage, and cell counting were conducted. NK-1R protein expression in the lung was investigated by immunohistochemistry and image analysis. Primary rat ASMC cultures were established, and purified ASMCs of the fourth passage were collected for mRNA and protein studies via real-time RT-PCR, immunocytochemistry, and image analysis.NK-1R mRNA and protein expression in the budesonide treatment group rat’s lung and ASMCs were less than that in the asthmatic group but greater than that in the control group.NK-1R is involved in the pathogenesis of asthma and that budesonide may downregulate the expression of NK-1R in the ASMCs and airways of asthmatic rats, which may alleviate neurogenic airway inflammation.Asthma is a chronic inflammatory disease characterized by airway hyper-responsiveness that involves many inflammatory cells and mediators [1]. Neurokinins (NKs) are peptides synthesized by neural tissues that have been implicated as the mediators of neurogenic inflammation in asthma. NKs have potent effects on airway smooth muscle tone, airway secretion, bronchial circulation, and inflammatory and immune cells via the activation of the neurokinin-1 (NK-1R) and neurokinin-2 receptors (NK-2R); as such, they have been proposed to play an important role in human respiratory conditions such as bronchial asthma and chronic obstructive diseases [2]. The Detection and Recognition of m-Sequence Using Higher-Order Statistical Processing

Abstract: m-sequence is one of the most widely used codes in spread spectrum communications. The triple correlation function(TCF) of m-sequence, the partial triple correlation function of m-sequence and its peak feature are studied and described in this paper. Then a detection method and a recognition standard of m-sequence are proposed based on the peak feature of the partial TCF. It is testified by simulation that the peak feature of the partial TCF is same as that of the TCF during the corresponding intercepted section. With the peak feature m-sequence can be detected and recognized and this is the basis for detecting and recognizing the direct sequence spread spectrum signals. The detection method and the recognition standard of m-sequence have been proved available by the simulation.
Multi-user cognitive radio network resource allocation based on the adaptive niche immune genetic algorithm

Abstract: Multi-user cognitive radio network resource allocation based on the adaptive niche immune genetic algorithm is proposed, and a fitness function is provided. Simulations are conducted using the adaptive niche immune genetic algorithm, the simulated annealing algorithm, the quantum genetic algorithm and the simple genetic algorithm, respectively. The results show that the adaptive niche immune genetic algorithm performs better than the other three algorithms in terms of the multi-user cognitive radio network resource allocation, and has quick convergence speed and strong global searching capability, which effectively reduces the system power consumption and bit error rate.

A New Combined Compression-shear Loading Technique at High Strain Rates

Abstract: Based on the modified split Hopkinson bar(SHB),a new planar dynamic loading technique combining compression-shear under strain rates in range of 10~2~10~3s~-1 is proposed in this paper.In order to generate shear and compressive stresses simultaneously in specimen,the oblique-plate impact experiment is introduced.The end surface of the input bar is improved in the shape of cut-cone.The main purpose of this work is to acquire the constitutive equation under complex stresses loaded at high strain-rates.Related theoretic analysis and numerical simulation prediction of the technique are presented.The stress wave propagation in the specimen is calculated by using the explicit dynamic FEM-code LS-DYNA.A preliminary test is carried out.The results of the simulation and test show that the combined compression-shear loading can be realized in the specimen by this technique,Therefore a systematic understanding on complicated mechanical properties of the materials can be obtained with this technique.
