Anomalous Josephson Effect in magnetic Josephson junctions with noncentrosymmetric superconductors

Abstract: We show that the two-band nature of noncentrosymmetric superconductors leads naturally to an anomalous Josephson current appearing at zero phase difference in a clean noncentrosymmetric superconductor/ferromagnet/noncentrosymmetric superconductor junction. The two-band nature provides two sets of Andreev bound states which carry two supercurrents with different amplitudes. When the magnetization direction of the ferromagnet is suitably chosen, two supercurrents experience opposite phase shifts from the conventional sinusoidal current-phase relation. Then the total Josephson current results in a continuously tunable ground-state phase difference by adjusting the ferromagnet parameters and the triplet-singlet ratio of noncentrosymmetric superconductors. The physics picture and analytical results are given on the basis of the $s$+$p$ wave, while the numerical results are reported on both $s$+$p$ and $d$+$p$ waves. For the $d$+$p$ wave, we find novel states in which the supercurrents are totally carried by continuous propagating states instead of discrete Andreev bound states. Instead of carrying supercurrent, the Andreev bound states which here only appear above the Fermi energy block the supercurrent flowing along the opposite direction. These novel states advance the understaning of the relation between Andreev bound states and the Josephson current. And the ground-state phase difference serves as a tool to determine the triplet-singlet ratio of noncentrosymmetric superconductors.

Abstract: In this study, the problem of non-fragile passive filtering for a class of sampleded-data system with long time delay is addressed. The uncertain parameters are supposed to belong to norm-bounded uncertainties. A direct distribution processing methodology is developed to design a stable linear filter that assures asymptotic stability and a prescribed passive performance for the filtering error, in spite of the uncertainty and the long time-delay. The proposed algorithm is given in term of linear matrix inequality, whose feasibility and effectiveness has been shown by a numberical example.
Particle Swarm Optimization-Proximal Point Algorithm for Nonlinear Complementarity Problems

Abstract: A new algorithm is presented for solving the nonlinear complementarity problem by combining the particle swarm and proximal point algorithm, which is called the particle swarm optimization-proximal point algorithm. The algorithm mainly transforms nonlinear complementarity problems into unconstrained optimization problems of smooth functions using the maximum entropy function and then optimizes the problem using the proximal point algorithm as the outer algorithm and particle swarm algorithm as the inner algorithm. The numerical results show that the algorithm has a fast convergence speed and good numerical stability, so it is an effective algorithm for solving nonlinear complementarity problems. 1. Introduction The nonlinear complementarity problem is an important class of nonsmooth optimization problems and is widely used in mechanical, engineering, and economic fields. The algorithm research has attracted great attention from scholars at home and abroad. Algorithms for solving such problems mainly include the Lemke algorithm, homotopy method, projection algorithm, Newton algorithm, and interior point algorithm [1–10]. These algorithms were mostly based on the gradient method and relied on the selection of an initial point. How to select the appropriate initial point is a very difficult problem; therefore, in recent years, many scholars at home and abroad have been dedicated to the bionic intelligent algorithm not depending on the initial point and the gradient information. In 1995, Kennedy and Eberhart proposed the particle swarm algorithm (PSO) [11] of the predatory behavior of birds for the first time. It was similar to the genetic algorithm, an optimization tool based on iteration; its advantages were being easy to understand, easy to implement, and no need to adjust many parameters, and it was widely recognized by academic circles, who then put forward some improved algorithms. At present, the algorithm has been successfully applied in function optimization, neural network training, fuzzy system control, and so forth. In 2008, Zhang and Zhou [12] proposed a mixed algorithm for solving nonlinear minimax problems by combing the particle swarm optimization algorithm with the maximum entropy function method, and then Zhang extended the method to solve nonlinear L-1 norm minimization problems [13] and nonlinear complementarity problems [14] and achieved good results. But these algorithms were random algorithms depending on the probability essentially, where the entropy function was only playing the role of conversing problems. Sun et al. [15]. proposed

Abstract: A study was carried out at the Loess Plateau in Dongzhi,China,to test the feasibility of using secondary treatment sewage effluent and to determine whether the water quality would then meet the recommended irrigation norm.Seven crops,including celery,wheat,maize,millet,apples,rapeseed and yellow beans,were tested in the study.Physical and chemical properties of the soil,crop yield and quality and leachate at different soil depths were measured.In most cases,the quality of the crops that made use of treated sewage was not distinctively different from those that did not use treated sewage.However,yields for the former were much higher than they were for the latter.Leachates at different soil depths were analyzed and the results did not show alarming levels of constituents.For a period of approximately 14 months.the treated sewage irrigation had no significant effect on the loess soil and no cases of illness resulting from contact with the treated sewage were reported.With treated sewage irrigation,a slight increase in the organic content of the soil was observed.
Virtual imaging anatomy of transnasal approach to the clivus

Abstract: Objective  To observe the virtual anatomy via transnasal approach in a virtual-reality (VR) environment, and to establish a virtual anatomical model of clival region and explore the application value of the virtual-reality technology. Methods  Twenty patients (males 11, females 9, aged from 25 to 70 years old with a mean of 43±0.3 years ) with no pathological changes in the sellar area and clivus underwent CT angiography with Discovery Ultra 16 and 3.0T MRI thin-slice scan. The data were collected and inputted into the Dextroscope in the DICOM format. Virtual observation of anatomy via transnasal approach and three-dimensional reconstruction of clivus were carried out in the VR environment. Results  Virtual reconstruction and measurements of clivus were successfully performed in the 20 patients. The simulation of transnasal approach was also carried out in the VR environment. The lateral side of clival bone removal through transnasal approach was limited by internal carotid artery, the superior limit was sellar floor and the lower clivus could not be revealed completely because of the restriction of the maxilla and hard palate. Conclusions  Virtual reconstruction of the clivus and simulation of transnasal approach can be performed exactly by VR technology, which provides imaginal and anatomical basis in dealing with clivus lesions via transnasal approach.
