A Study of the Relationships between Serum Calcitonin Gene-Related Peptide, Sex Hormone, Homocysteine and Coronary Heart Disease in Postmenopausal Women

Abstract: Objective. To investigate the relationships among serum calcitonin gene-related peptide (CGRP), homocysteine (Hcy), female hormone, and coronary arteriopathy in postmenopausal women. Method. In a cross-sectional study, serum CGRP, estrodiol (E2), progesterone(P)and Hcy levels of 144 postmenopausal women with coronary heart disease (CHD) and non-coronary heart disease (NCHD) were measured. Results. The mean serum CGRP level was significantly lower in CHD patients than in NCHD subjects. The mean serum E2 and P level were significantly lower in CHD patients than in NCHD subjects. The mean serum Hcy level was significantly higher in CHD patients than in NCHD subjects. By multivariate logistic regression, the OR of high Hcy level ≥1, p<0.01,which suggests that Hcy is an independent risk factor in the development of coronary arteriopathy. The OR of CGRP, E2 , and P are all≤1, indicating that CGRP , E2 and P are independent protective factor. Conclusion. The results of our study show that Hcy is an independent risk factor in the development of arteriopathy. CGRP and endogenous E2 are independent protective factors in the development of coronary arteriopathy. There are no relationships between Hcy, CGRP, and endogenous E2.

Abstract: China has been fast growing over past 30 years. Whether China could keep relatively high speed sustained growth is very important to the whole world. And it is worthwhile to analyze the reason to keep high speed sustained growth. The paper analyzes the total amount situation of Gross Domestic Product (GDP) of China as the second world economy entity. As a developing fast growing country, China has its own characteristics and also has big gap to the first world economy entity, the USA. With the rapid development of internet, the paper compares the traditional business model to future business model development. As a part of national strategies of China, internet is becoming one of the most important tools for both business increasing and marketing developing with its users fast growing. The relativity between internet and China economy is analyzed through related model. With internet plus time coming, China economy development will be related to internet tightly in current time and future.

Abstract: 采用包埋固定化颗粒对北京市某污水处理厂的二沉池出水进行深度脱氮处理,研究了驯化启动及稳定运行的条件和脱氮特性,对比了不同水力停留时间(HRT)、不同进水TN负荷的脱氮效能.结果表明,在水温为25℃、pH=7.2、水力停留时间为70 min、包埋颗粒填充率为30%时,投加碳源驯化一周后包埋固定化颗粒即能保持稳定高效的脱氮率,并具有良好的耐冲击负荷能力;进水TN负荷从0.5 kg·m-3·d-1逐渐提高至2.0 kg·m-3·d-1时,TN平均去除率达到86.6%.进水TN负荷为2.5 kg·m-3·d-1时,TN平均去除率仍能达到70%;在HRT为20 min时,出水硝氮<1 mg·L-1,TN<5 mg·L-1;填充率由30%逐渐降低到20%时,TN去除率均能达到80%以上;填充率低于20%时,TN去除率随着填充率的减少而下降.试验确定包埋固定化菌的最佳填充率为20%.
Some Key Problems on Debris Flow in Wenchuan Earthquake Area

Abstract: 为解决2008年"5·12"汶川地震后,在地震灾区大部分泥石流沟实施的拦砂坝、排导槽等首期治理工程效果不佳、部分工程甚至失效的问题,根据松散物源启动量估算明显偏小、拦砂坝设计库容不够、排导槽过流断面偏小的状况,分析了地震灾区泥石流形成特点和暴发规律,针对持续性、大规模和群发性方面的估计不足,系统地进行了经验总结.通过2010和2013年两次特大型泥石流的勘查、设计和治理工程实践表明震区泥石流在启动机理、堵塞溃决、持续时间、冲出规模等方面与一般泥石流相比存在很大区别,总结出以下经验: (1) 合理确定泥石流堵溃系数及相应流量;(2) 针对不同类型泥石流及保护对象提出有效的治理工程方案,例如拦挡、固坡、排导、停淤方法的合理组合和有效利用;(3) 合理分配拦砂坝的有效高度及数量;(4) 合理选用坝体结构类型,例如实体坝、缝隙坝和梳齿坝.上述经验在绵竹县清平文家沟、汶川县红椿沟、七盘沟、桃关沟和宝兴县冷木沟特大型泥石流的勘查、设计及治理工程中进行了充分的应用验证,并取得了成功.
: After the Wenchuan earthquake on May 12, 2008, some initial treatments, such as silt dams and drainage ditches which were built in debris flow gullies in the earthquake area for debris control, showed a poor performance and went into a failure condition because of the underestimated launch quantity of loose material resource, the insufficient design capacity of the silt dams, and the small cross sections of drainage grooves. To deal with these problems, the formation characteristics and outbreak regularities of debris flow in the earthquake area were analyzed, and a systematic summary of experience was obtained from the lesson of insufficient understanding of the continuous, massive, and group-occurring of the debris flow. There are some significant differences between the earthquake debris flow and general debris flow in the starting mechanism, block and break, lasting time and break-out quantity of loose materials, and so on. Through the engineering practices in exploration, design and management of two giant debris flow in 2010 and 2013, some experiences are summarized as follows (1) reasonably determine the blocking collapse coefficient and the discharge of debris flow; (2) put forward effective treatment plans according to different types of debris flows and the preserved objects; for example, effectively combine the block, slope reinforcement, drainage ditches and silting field; (3) reasonably distribute the effective height and number of silt dams; and, (4) choose reasonable structure types for dams, such as entity dam, crack dam and comb dam. The above experience has been successfully applied and verified effective in the investigation, design and management projects of large debris flows in Wenjiagou gully in Qingping town of Mianzhu County, Hongchungou gully, Qipangou gully and Taoguangou gully in Wenchuan County, and Lenmugou gully in Baoxing County
Online Fabric Defect Inspection Using Smart Visual Sensors

Abstract: Fabric defect inspection is necessary and essential for quality control in the textile industry. Traditionally, fabric inspection to assure textile quality is done by humans, however, in the past years, researchers have paid attention to PC-based automatic inspection systems to improve the detection efficiency. This paper proposes a novel automatic inspection scheme for the warp knitting machine using smart visual sensors. The proposed system consists of multiple smart visual sensors and a controller. Each sensor can scan 800 mm width of web, and can work independently. The following are considered in dealing with broken-end defects caused by a single yarn: first, a smart visual sensor is composed of a powerful DSP processor and a 2-megapixel high definition image sensor. Second, a wavelet transform is used to decompose fabric images, and an improved direct thresholding method based on high frequency coefficients is proposed. Third, a proper template is chosen in a mathematical morphology filter to remove noise. Fourth, a defect detection algorithm is optimized to meet real-time demands. The proposed scheme has been running for six months on a warp knitting machine in a textile factory. The actual operation shows that the system is effective, and its detection rate reaches 98%.
The Conformational Control Inhibitor of Tyrosine Kinases DCC-2036 Is Effective for Imatinib-Resistant Cells Expressing T674I FIP1L1-PDGFRα

Abstract: The cells expressing the T674I point mutant of FIP1-like-1-platelet-derived growth factor receptor alpha (FIP1L1-PDGFRα) in hypereosinophilics syndrome (HES) are resistant to imatinib and some second-generation tyrosine kinase inhibitors (TKIs). There is a desperate need to develop therapy to combat this acquired drug resistance. DCC-2036 has been synthesized as a third-generation TKI to combat especially the Bcr-Abl T315I mutant in chronic myeloid leukemia. This study evaluated the effect of DCC-2036 on FIP1L1-PDGFRα-positive cells, including the wild type (WT) and the T674I mutant. The in vitro effects of DCC-2036 on the PDGFRα signal pathways, proliferation, cell cycling and apoptosis of FIP1L1-PDGFRα-positive cells were investigated, and a nude mouse xenograft model was employed to assess the in vivo antitumor activity. We found that DCC-2036 decreased the phosphorylated levels of PDGFRα and its downstream targets without apparent effects on total protein levels. DCC-2036 inhibited proliferation, and induced apoptosis with MEK-dependent up-regulation of the pro-apoptotic protein Bim in FIP1L1-PDGFRα-positive cells. DCC-2036 also exhibited in vivo antineoplastic activity against cells with T674I FIP1L1-PDGFRα. In summary, FIP1L1-PDGFRα-positive cells are sensitive to DCC-2036 regardless of their sensitivity to imatinib. DCC-2036 may be a potential compound to treat imatinib-resistant HES.
Indications of Clinical and Genetic Predictors for Aromatase Inhibitors Related Musculoskeletal Adverse Events in Chinese Han Women with Breast Cancer

Abstract: Background Women with breast cancer treated with aromatase inhibitors (AIs) may experience musculoskeletal symptoms that lead to discontinuation of effective therapy. The purpose of the current study is to evaluate the clinical and genetic predictors for AIs-related musculoskeletal adverse events(MS-AEs). Methodology and Principal Findings We recruited 436 postmenopausal Chinese Han women receiving adjuvant AIs therapy for early-stage hormone-sensitive breast cancer. Patients completed a self-administered questionnaire assessing the presence of musculoskeletal symptoms that started or worsened after initiating AIs. 27 single nucleotide polymorphisms (SNP) of ESR1, ESR2 and PGR were analyzed by Sequenom MassARRAY assays and /or PCR-based TaqMan assays.Of the 436 enrolled women, 206 cases experienced musculoskeletal symptoms.Patients who received taxane chemotherapy were more than two times more likely than other patients to have AIs-related MS-AEs. Genetic assay had showed that only two ESR1 SNPs, rs2234693 and rs9340799 were associated with AIs-related MS-AEs.TT genotype and the T allele in rs2234693 was statistically significantly lower in AIs-Related MS-AEs group than controls (P = 0.001; P = 9.49E-7). The frequency of AA genotype and the A allele in rs9340799 was higher (P = 2.20E-5; P = 3.09E-4). Conclusions and Significance Our results suggested that prior taxane-based chemotherapy was the clinical predictor, while rs2234693 and rs9340799 were the genetic predictors for AIs-related MS-AEs.
