Abstract: in the current situation in the comarca lagunera regarding water availability, it is important to consider alternate crops that adapt to the area's weather conditions. some bean varieties (phaseolus vulagris l.) are susceptible to drought, which limits the optimum crop development, causing low yields. the main objective of this study was to determine the net photosynthesis rate, transpiration rate, stomatal conductance, and the yield of six bean varieties, as well as their adaptability to the weather conditions of the comarca lagunera. the research was conducted at the experimental station of the uaaan unidad laguna, in the autumn-winter 2009 agricultural cycle, using traditional irrigation. the photosynthetic rate, transpiration rate and stomatal conductance were measured using the "photosynthesis system ci 340?". we also evaluated the yield, which was correlated with the physiological functions measured. the variety that had the highest yield was the pinto villa, which also displayed the highest photosynthetic activity, ranking within the group of genotypes with highest stomatal conductance. on the other hand, the pinto mestizo variety had the second best yield, although physiological activity of the variables studied was the lowest. therefore, the pinto villa and pinto mestizo varieties presented the best adaptability to the weather conditions of the lagunera region.

Abstract: En la problemática existente en la Comarca Lagunera sobre la disponibilidad de agua, es importante considerar cultivos alternos que se adapten a las condiciones climáticas de la región. Algunas variedades de frijol (Phaseolus vulagris L.) son susceptibles a sequía lo que limita el óptimo desarrollo del cultivo provocando bajo rendimiento. El objetivo de este trabajo fue determinar la tasa de fotosíntesis neta, tasa de transpiración, conductancia estomatal y rendimiento de seis variedades de frijol así como su adaptabilidad a las condiciones climáticas de la Comarca Lagunera. La investigación se realizó en el campo experimental de la UAAAN Unidad Laguna durante el ciclo de oto o-invierno de 2009 utilizando riego tradicional. Se midió la tasa de fotosintética, tasa de transpiración y conductancia estomatal con el equipo de medición "photosynthesis system CI 340 ". Además, se evaluó el rendimiento el cual fue correlacionado con las funciones fisiológicas antes mencionadas. La variedad que pre sentó el mayor rendimiento fue la Pinto Villa, la cual también mostró la mayor actividad fotosintética ubicándose dentro del grupo de genotipos con la conductancia estomatal más alta. Por otra parte, la variedad Pinto Mestizo obtuvo el segundo mejor rendimiento, aunque la actividad fisiológica de las variables estudiadas fueron las más bajas. Por lo tanto, las variedades Pinto Villa y Pinto Mestizo fueron las que mejor adaptabilidad presentaron a las condiciones climáticas de la Región Lagunera. Abstract: The purpose of this study was to analyze the effect of Zn nutritional status on the content of pigments, nonstructural carbohydrates, foliage proteins and amino acids of the pecan tree, as possible bioindicators of Zn deficiency. The experimental design was completely random with three Zn nutritional statuses: Normal, Intermediate and Deficient, being selected considering visual symptomatology. On all three nutritional statuses, the concentration of photosynthetic pigments was determined as well as of total soluble proteins and amino acids. Obtained results indicate that Zn deficient nutritional status was characterized by minimum photosynthetic pigment, protein concentrations, maximum amino acid and nonstructural carbohydrate concentrations. While the normal Zn nutritional status presented maximum photosynthetic pigments, proteins concentrations, minimum amino acids and carbohydrate concentrations. On the other hand, intermediate Zn nutritional status was characterized by a medium level between the other two Zn nutritional statuses. Finally, we stress the fact that pigments, proteins, amino acids and nonstructural carbohydrates may be good physiological indicators related to Zn nutritional status on pecan trees.
PRODUCCIóN DE BIOMASA DE ALGODóN EN SURCOS ULTRA-ESTRECHOS Y DENSIDAD POBLACIONAL

Abstract: el cultivo de algodón en surcos ultra-estrechos y el sistema de siembra tradicional. En el 2008 y el 2009 se evaluaron dos sistemas de producción en surcos espaciados a 0,50 y 0,35 m (surcos ultra-estrechos) con densidades poblacionales de 90 000 y 110 000 plantas/ha, respectivamente, y de testigo el espaciamiento de 0,75 m con una densidad de 70 000 plantas/ha. Se evaluó el rendimiento de algodón hueso, pluma y MS total. En el segundo a o de estudio, se determinó el efecto de los sistemas de producción en la tasa de crecimiento del cultivo (TCC), tasa de asimilación neta (TAN), índice de área foliar (IAF), relación de área foliar (RAF), área foliar específica (AFE) y relación de peso foliar (RPF). Para la estimación de estos indicadores se realizaron tres muestreos destructivos a los 59, 79 y 100 días después de la siembra (DDS). En cada uno se colectaron dos plantas por parcela y se les determinó el área foliar, el peso seco total y el peso seco de órganos vegetativos y reproductivos. El espaciamiento entre surcos de 0,35 m y 110 000 plantas/ha obtuvo un rendimiento de 16 y 43% más algodón hueso que los de 0,50 m, con una densidad de 90 000 plantas/ha, y 0,75 m y 70 000 plantas/ha respectivamente. El espaciamiento entre surcos y la densidad poblacional no afectaron el tama o relativo al área foliar, de acuerdo con los estimadores RAF, AFE y RPF.

Abstract: the objective of this work was to study the performance of cotton crops under ultra narrow row spacing in comparison to the traditional planting system. two production systems in rows spaced at 0.50 y 0.35 m (ultra narrow-rows) were evaluated in 2008 and 2009, with population densities of 90 000 and 110 000 plants/ha respectively, and rows spaced at 0,75 m with a density of 70 000 plants/ha were used as a control. the seedcotton, lint-cotton yield and total dry matter were evaluated in both years. crop growth rate (cgr), net assimilation rate (nar), leaf area index (lai), leaf area ratio (lar), specific leaf area (sla), and leaf weight ratio (lwr) we evaluated in 2009 only. for the estimation of these indicators, three destructive sampling protocols were conducted at 59, 79 and 100 days after sowing (das). two plants were collected per plot and were analyzed for total dry weight, total dry weight of vegetative and reproductive organs and plant leaf area. for rows spaced at 0.35 m and a density of 110 000 plants/ ha the seed cotton yield was 16 and 43% higher than 0.50-90 000 and 0.75-70 000 plants/ha respectively. row spacing and plant population density did not affect the relative foliar size according with the lar, sla and lwr estimates.
Nutritional characteristics of amazonian fish fat (Colossoma macropomum) and its effect on lipid metabolism of rats fed hypercholesterolemic diets

Abstract: the effects of fat from tambaqui (colossoma macropomum), an amazonian fish, on some nutritional and lipid parameters in rats were evaluated. weaned wistar rats were fed for 6 weeks with hypercholesterolemic diets containing 7.5% of soybean oil (so), cod liver oil (co), lard (la), or tambaqui fat (tf). food consumption, weight gain, and food conversion were measured weekly. plasma triglycerides was determined at the beginning and on the 6th week of experiment. plasma cholesterol was determined at 0, 2, 4 and 6 weeks. after the sacrifice, hepatic lipids (triglycerides and cholesterol) and plasma triglycerides, total cholesterol and hdl fractions were determined. food consumption and weight gain were the same for all groups. there were no differences in plasma triglycerides among the four groups in the 1st and 6th weeks. regarding the cholesterolemia, tf animals were similar to those fed so diet, significantly lower than in la group but higher compared to the co group. the levels of very low density lipoprotein + low density lipoprotein (vldl+ldl) were higher in the tf and la groups compared to the co and so groups. however, ta fed animals had high-density lipoprotein (hdl) cholesterol levels higher than the co group. the ratio (vldl+ldl)/hdl was higher in the la group when compared with the remaining groups. in the ta group, the triglycerides and cholesterol concentrations in the liver were similar to the so group. it may be concluded that tambaqui fat is a good dietary source of lipids as a substitute for lard and similar to soybean oil, as far as atherosclerosis risks is concerned.

Abstract: En la relación del hombre con su creador, la búsqueda por el sentido y el significado de la fe siempre ha sido algo permanente. De nuestra naturaleza humana devenimos en una razón de ser lógica, dialéctica y escéptica. De lo que suponemos es nuestra naturaleza espiritual, indagamos lo que nos trasciende desde la fe teológica, filosófica y metafísica. Sin embargo, entre una naturaleza de ser y la otra, la fe como revelación, gracia, testimonio, salvación, redención, libertad, nos habla de una realidad para la vida que sólo es aceptable y puesta en práctica si nos abrimos a la voluntad secreta y misteriosa de Dios en nosotros. En este sugestivo ensayo, el prominente filósofo cristiano Wagner de Reyna, discípulo de Heidegger, nos sitúa en una particular reflexión sobre lo que es su acción testificante y hermeneútica de la fe en la que cree y espera sin ninguna duda.
