Parental Education as Health Protection Factor in Vulnerable Childhood and Adolescence
Cruz MOLINA,Crescencia PASTOR,Verónica VIOLANT
Revista de Cercetare ?i Interven?ie Social? , 2011,
Abstract: Family education is considered a protection factor with regards to the healthy development of children, especially in social risk situations. In this paper we present the results related to the family’s role in the healthy development of their children, from two works that stress on two moments of special difficulty for families, as the birth of a child and the adolescence. They are part of the strategic lines on sexual and reproductive health of the Autonomous Government of Catalonia (Spain), and of the Spanish State. Such works try to explore the families’ guidance needs to outline a program on parenthood education and, to analyse the needs of teenagers in vulnerable situation in relation to sexual and reproductive health to develop a strategic action plan. A research-action methodology was applied with focal groups with 56 professionals and 13 families in the first work, and 48 professionals and community workers with 72 teenagers in the second group. The results show that the families feel insecurity and anxiety before the birth of a child, especially, in relation to how to look after him/her or for family pressure. The teenagers demand a better communication with their parents in sexual health issues; and the professionals suggest the development of family guidance programs, especially in risk situations.
Paracontact metric manifolds without a contact metric counterpart
Verónica Martín-Molina
Mathematics , 2013, DOI: 10.11650/tjm.18.2014.4447
Abstract: We study non-paraSasakian paracontact metric $(\kappa,\mu)$-spaces with $\kappa=-1$ (equivalent to $h^2=0$ but $h\neq0$). These manifolds, which do not have a contact geometry counterpart, will be classified locally in terms of the rank of $h$. We will also give explicit examples of every possible constant rank of $h$.
Local classification and examples of an important class of paracontact metric manifolds

Mathematics , 2014, DOI: 10.2298/FIL1503507M
Abstract: We study paracontact metric $(\kappa,\mu)$-spaces with $\kappa=-1$, equivalent to $h^2=0$ but not $h=0$. In particular, we will give an alternative proof of Theorem 3.2 of [11] and present examples of paracontact metric $(-1,2)$-spaces and $(-1,0)$-spaces of arbitrary dimension with tensor $h$ of every possible constant rank. We will also show explicit examples of paracontact metric $(-1, \mu)$-spaces with tensor $h$ of non-constant rank, which were not known to exist until now.
On a remarkable class of paracontact metric manifolds
Verónica Martín-Molina
Mathematics , 2014, DOI: 10.1142/S0219887815600245
Abstract: We study a remarkable class of paracontact metric manifolds which have no contact metric counterpart: the paracontact metric $(-1,\widetilde\mu)$-spaces which are not paraSasakian (i.e. have $\widetilde h\neq0$). We present explicit examples with $\widetilde h$ of every possible constant rank and some with non-constant rank, which were not known to exist until recently.

Open Journal of Immunology (OJI) , 2016, DOI: 10.4236/oji.2016.63008
Abstract: Ageing is associated with several anatomical and physiological changes of the organism, and the increase in global elderly population promotes the research to develop strategies to improve their quality of life. In this work, we characterized the immunological alterations naturally produced during aging in a mice model, and evaluated the effect of probiotic Lactobacillus (L.) rhamnosus CRL1505 administration on those immunological parameters. We demonstrated that L. rhamosus CRL1505 was able to improve peritoneal macrophages phagocytic activity, and the number of intestinal IgA+ cells in aged mice, reaching values of those parameters similar to young adult mice. The results of this work indicate that is plausible that the immunobiotic CRL1505 strain may find applications as a beneficial immunomodulator in aging to reinforce the intestinal and systemic immunity. The immune modulation in aging induced by L. rhamnosus CRL1505 could lead to the development of new strategies for functional foods specifically tailored for the elderly.
Oral Health Status in Adult Population in Chile (Decayed, Missing, Filled and Permanent Tooth): Clinical Observation at National Level  [PDF]

Health (Health) , 2015, DOI: 10.4236/health.2015.712191
Abstract: Objectives: The aim of this study was to establish the differences in the oral health status of adult population between women and men by the clinical status of the permanent first molar. Methods: The data were obtained in a non-random sample of 132,174 patients from a large cohort who were under dental treatment nationwide in Chile during 2011. Results: The results show a greater frequency of “filled and not decayed” (45.6%), “decayed” (18.8%) and followed by “missing by decay” (15.4%). Moreover, an association is established between the “filled and decayed” condition to the female gender and the condition “decayed” and “missing by decay” to the male gender (Significance level α ≤ 0.05). Conclusions: This study concluded that there was a dependent association between gender and the oral health status of permanent first molars in adult patients.

Paracontact metric structures on the unit tangent sphere bundle
Giovanni Calvaruso \and Verónica Martín-Molina
Mathematics , 2013, DOI: 10.1007/s10231-014-0424-4
Abstract: Starting from $g$-natural pseudo-Riemannian metrics of suitable signature on the unit tangent sphere bundle $T_1 M$ of a Riemannian manifold $(M,\langle,\rangle)$, we construct a family of paracontact metric structures. We prove that this class of paracontact metric structures is invariant under $\mathcal D$-homothetic deformations, and classify paraSasakian and paracontact $(\kappa,\mu)$-spaces inside this class. We also present a way to build paracontact $(\kappa,\mu)$-spaces from corresponding contact metric structures on $T_1 M$.
The curvature tensor of almost cosymplectic and almost Kenmotsu (κ,μ,ν)-spaces
Alfonso Carriazo,Verónica Martín-Molina
Mathematics , 2012, DOI: 10.1007/s00009-013-0246-4
Abstract: We study the Riemann curvature tensor of (\kappa,\mu,\nu)-spaces when they have almost cosymplectic and almost Kenmotsu structures, giving its writing explicitly. This leads to the definition and study of a natural generalisation of the contact metric (\kappa,\mu,\nu)-spaces. We present examples or obstruction results of these spaces in all possible cases.
