Design and Implementation of a Three Dimensional CNC Machine

Abstract: This paper discusses the design and implementation of low cost three dimensional computerized numerical control (CNC) machines for Industrial application. The primary function of this microcontrollerbased CNC machine is to cut the metal in to required shape. This discuss is focused on communication between Personal computer (PC) and a numerical control machine. The objective to devise a computer controlled cutting machine arose from increasing demand for flexibility and cutting with respect to edge quality. The system has an 8 bit microcontroller based embedded system to achieve costeffectiveness and also maintains the required accuracy and reliability for complex shapes. The backbone of the system is a cleverly designed mechanical system along with the embedded system resulting in accuracy. The system uses C# as a programming language and .NET platform for user interface.
Homology modeling and ligand interaction of human trafficking protein particle complex subunit 3-like protein and its correlation with Alzheimer’s disease

Abstract: In order to understand the mechanism of molecular interactions at active sites of trafficking protein particle complex (TRAPPC) subunit 3-like protein (Accession number Q5T215) homology modeling and docking studies were taken up. We generated a three-dimensional (3D) model of target protein based on the Crystal structure of Human BET3 protein (PDB code 1SZ7) using modeller software. Under the process of homology modeling 25 models were generated, and the model having the lowest modeler objective function value was chosen for further assessment. The generated model was assessed and validated using PROCHECK software and found to be reliable.With the generated model, we carried out a flexible docking study using the FlexX docking tool available on the Sybyl Software in order to find better antagonist site for drug binding. We carried out a flexible docking with the Palmatic acid and Donepezil as ligands; these were found to bind at LEU87, LYS84 and THR90 residues on given generated protein in our studies. We therefore concluded that the above mentioned residues were the key residue sites for ligand binding showing strong hydrogen bonding contacts.The target protein is more prevalently seen in the amygdala region of brain which forms one of the key subunit of TRAPP complex. As per functional similarity with BET3, target protein might play key role in trafficking abnormally folded A-beta and tau proteins along endoplasmic reticulum to Golgi apparatus there by leading to formation of senile plaques in various regions of brain, whose accumulation causes Alzheimer’s disease.
Solar Energy Generation Using Agriculture Cultivated Lands  [PDF]

Abstract:


Generation of electricity using solar PV is picking up in India in a big way in recent years. It needs a clear direction such that it can optimally be utilized and the benefits, without being concentrated in a few locations, can reach the majority of poor population as well. Indian farmers, for the last few decades are affected in terms of availability of electrical power. The present study suggests the use of fertile and cultivated land with about 5 m elevated structure with solar panels. It creates shade on the crops. In the present study, the shade effect on the crops below the structure has been examined systematically through modeling studies. Different solar panel design configurations are suggested such that the crops or plants below, on the ground surface, can also be grown without any reduction in their yield. The effect of the elevated structure on the neighboring lands is also examined. It is shown that the present concept can easily be implemented in India, perhaps in the world, at all the locations such that power can be generated using farmer’s own land for his own benefit, perhaps with some profit to him. The present concept, if implemented, also reduces the huge cost involved in establishing the network of transmission and distribution lines.


Stochastic Characteristics and Simulation of the Random Waypoint Mobility Model

Abstract: Simulation results for Mobile Ad-Hoc Networks (MANETs) are fundamentally governed by the underlying Mobility Model. Thus it is imperative to find whether events functionally dependent on the mobility model 'converge' to well defined functions or constants. This shall ensure the long-run consistency among simulation performed by disparate parties. This paper reviews a work on the discrete Random Waypoint Mobility Model (RWMM), addressing its long run stochastic stability. It is proved that each model in the targeted discrete class of the RWMM satisfies Birkhoff's pointwise ergodic theorem [13], and hence time averaged functions on the mobility model surely converge. We also simulate the most common and general version of the RWMM to give insight into its working.
Error Resilient Image Transmission over Wireless Fading Channels

Abstract: Nowadays transferring images and video over wireless channels is becoming more use of the medium. However, a wireless medium is not very reliable in the way that it adds unwanted components and noise to the wireless transmission. So there may be a loss of data. Due to this possible loss of data without the capability of resending a correct version we need a system to protect and correct such losses. The transmission of images over wireless channels is examined using reorganization of the compressed images into error-resilient, product-coded streams. The product-code consists of Turbo-codes or Reed–Solomon codes which are optimized using an iterative process. The wireless channel used for the testing phase is a Rayleigh Fading channel with Additive White Gaussian Noise (AWGN) added as a noisecomponent. In this paper we propose protection techniques for image transmission and compare the performance of various protection methods for all JPEG standards. The proposed image standard model was found to perform very well in protecting the images against quality degradation during transmission over wireless channels. The strength of the protection plays a large part in the protection of the image and should be chosen to suit the particular channel in use. Thedefault protection also provides very strong protection for the user who does not wish to choose their own setting.
CLASSIFICATION OF BOUNDARY AND REGION SHAPES USING HU-MOMENT INVARIANTS

Abstract: This paper attempts to introduce the concept of moment invariance into the classification algorithm based on the morphological boundary extraction and generalized skeleton transform, and tries to propose a new method about shape classification in this field. Firstly, the method extracts boundary of the object, secondly, skeleton using mainskeleton extraction algorithm based on visual important parts, and then improves Hu moment which is traditionally used to region while in this paper is extended to calculate the invariants of the skeleton. The present paper describes respective theories and application of the method from four aspects, including the boundary extraction, skeleton extraction, calculation of moment invariance and classification algorithm.
NEW APPROACH TO UNDERSTAND MARINE BOUNDARY LAYER CHARACTERISTICS DURING DIFFERENT MONSOON REGIMES OVER PALAU IN PACIFIC OCEAN

Abstract: A new algorithm is proposed to determine the marine boundary layer (MBL) height using a wind profiler radar and a ceilometer. For this, four year observational data from wind profiler radar and laser ceilometer installed at Palau islands in Tropical Western Pacific Ocean is utilized. We observed the diurnal and seasonal variation in the marine boundary layer height using this new algorithm. The results show a fairly good agreement with the normal peak detection method. We utilized ‘new algorithm’ for understanding of MBL variations during westerly/easterly monsoon periods. It is noticed that multiple forcing mechanisms are primarily responsible for the shallow marine boundary-layer heights observed during westerly monsoon period.
A Randomized Secure Data Hiding Algorithm Using File Hybridization for Information Security

Abstract: The internet and the World Wide Web have revolutionized the way in which digital data is distributed. The growing possibilities of modern communication need special means of security especiallyon computer network. In this paper a new randomized secure data hiding algorithm using file hybridization is proposed for strengthening the security of information through a combination ofcryptography and steganography with random transformation and file hybridization. Cryptography concentrates on rendering the message unreadable to any unauthorized persons who might intercept them and steganography provides security by concealing existence of information being communicated. The proposed method, viz. Randomized Secure Data Hiding Algorithm using File hybridization (RSDHAF), is divided into sender side and receiver side parts which consist of combination of phases. File hybridization technique adds extra mystification to the analyst in finding the secret message.Simulation results show that the method provides high security and the information is safe from various attacks.
A Modified E Shaped Patch Antenna For Mimo Systems

Abstract: A compact E shaped patch antenna is proposed in the present work, which can be used for Multiple Input Multiple output (MIMO) systems. The modified E shaped patch antenna proposed in this paper offers improved directivity, bandwidth, and return loss characteristics compared to normal E shaped antenna. The antenna system resonates at 5.36GHz and 5.89GHz frequencies for VSWR≤2 which can be used for WiMAX (Wireless interoperability for microwave access) applications. The simulation results of return loss, VSWR, gain and radiation pattern are presented.
EFFECT OF SMILAX CHINA LINN ON TESTICULAR ANTIOXIDANT ACTIVITY AND SPERMATOLOGICAL PARAMETERS IN RATS SUBJECTED TO FORCED SWIMMING STRESS

Abstract: The aim of the present study was to investigate the potential benefits of ethanolic extract of Smilax china Linn. on testicular antioxidant activity and spermatological parameters in rats subjected to forced swimming stress. Animals of the experimental groups except vehicle control were subjected to forced swimming stress (FSS) 15 min/day for 52 days. Animals were pretreated with two doses of ethanolic extract of Smilax china rhizomes (100 and 200 mg/kg b.w., p.o.) for 15 days prior to the starting of FSS and were continued further for 52 days along with induction of stress. Testicular SOD, catalase and lipid peroxidation were determined. The cauda epididymis was isolated and sperms were released into saline and sperm count, viability, morphology and motility were analysed. Rats with forced swimming stress showed a significant increase in lipid peroxidation and decrease in testicular SOD, catalase, sperm count, viability and motility. Many abnormal forms of sperms were seen. Rats pretreated with ethanolic extract of Smilax china rhizomes at both doses significantly prevented the stress induced changes. Hence, ethanolic extract of Smilax china rhizomes at both doses showed good protection against testicular antioxidant activity and spermatological parameters in rats subjected to forced swimming stress.
