DIRECT AND SECOND DERIVATIVE SPECTROPHOTOMETRIC DETERMINATION OF MOLYBDENUM (VI) IN FOOD STUFFS AND IN ALLOY STEELS USING 2- HYDROXY-3-METHOXY BENZALDEHYDE THIOSEMICARBAZONE (HMBATSC)

Abstract: a rapid, simple, sensitive and selective spectrophotometric method is developed for the determination of molybdenum (vi) in aqueous dimethyl formamide (dmf). molybdenum (vi) forms a yellow coloured complex with 2-hydroxy-3-methoxy benzaldehyde thiosemicarbazone in the ph range 1.0-6.0. the complex shows maximum absorbance at 375nm and in the ph range 1.0-2.0. however, at this wave length, the reagent shows considerable absorbance. at 385nm, the complex shows large absorbance while the reagent blank shows negligible absorbance. hence, analytical studies are carried out at 385nm and at ph 1.5 against reagent blank. beer's law is obeyed in the range 0.24-4.32 μg ml-1. the molar absorptivity and sandell's sensitivity forthe coloured solution are found to be 2.3 x 10-4 1 mol-1 cm-1 and 0.0042 μg cm-2 respectively. the interference effect of various diverse ions has been studied. the complex shows 1:1 [mo (vi): hmbatsc] stoichiometry with a stability constant 2.35 x 106. the standard deviation of the method in the determination of 2.396 μg ml-1 of mo(vi) is calculated as ± 0.0012. a second order derivative spectroscopic method is developed for the determination of molybdenum(vi), which is more sensitive than the zero order method.. the developed method has been employed for the determination of molybdenum (vi) in food stuffs and in alloy steels. the results are in excellent agreement with the certified values
A Dynamic Cloud Discovery Framework for Deploying of Scientific Computing Services over a Multi-cloud Infrastructure

Abstract: Traditional scientific computing systems relied on consecrated network of systems that arrives with complex maintenance and are deficient in flexibility and scalability. These issues necessitate immense level configuration process in result of a change in the setup (changing of resources, change of platform). Cloud computing, an on demand and cost effective means of provisioning computing resources, leverages all the above difficulties. The practical applications of clouds for scientific computing applications are still one of the largest unexplored areas in the cloud computing domain. Java Enterprise Platform (J2EE) has a successful journey in the field of distributed interoperable systems. This study explores the J2EE capabilities such as dynamic service discovery based on publishing of XML based configuration information of the service to the cloud. The Optimal Cloud Platform Selection (OCPS) algorithm evaluates the clouds for the optimal deployment of the scientific computing services based on various computational parameters like ram, processor cycles etc along with computational cost under consideration. This framework is flexible enough to cope with the dynamic nature of the clouds. The implementation has been tested in a hybrid cloud infrastructure using eucalyptus open source private cloud platform along with Google app-engine as a gateway to the outside world.

Abstract: Digital Divide may also be called as “Information and Technology gap”. In general terms, it is the gap between those who can effectively use new information and communication tools, such as the internet, and those who cannot. The digital divide becomes challenge for the development of digital libraries in India. Because the different factors such as Illiteracy, Poverty, Computer illiteracy, lack of widespread telecommunication facilities, shortage of power supply etc. created the digital divide in India. The Government of India and different state governments have already took developmental measures to control the digital divide. The present paper explained different government schemes, measures and programmes, which are aimed to overcome the digital divide and thereby enabling development of the digital libraries in India.

ICT SKILLS OF LIBRARY PROFESSIONALS IN GULBARGA CITY

Abstract: Due to the Information and Communication Technology (ICT) the libraries are changing in terms of retrieval, storage and dissemination of information. As such, it is become essential for the library professionals to learn the ICT skills, so that they can provide ICT based services to its users. Hence, the present study was conducted in Gulbarga city to assess the ICT Skills of the library professionals working in academic libraries including degree colleges and university libraries. Total 179 library professionals are surveyed and questionnaire is used to collect the primary data. It is found that the library professionals working in university libraries are experts in ICTskills, whereas the level of ICT Skills possessed by the degree college library professionals is poor. Hence, training programmes are suggested for the degree college library professionals in ICT Skills. The study is concluded with the remarks that the university library professionals should organize training programmes for degree college library professionals.
An Identity-Based Security for Nodes in EAD File Replication in P2P Systems

Abstract: An Efficient and Adaptive Decentralized (EAD) file replication algorithm achieves high query efficiency and high replica utilization. EAD enhances the utilization of file replicas by selecting query traffic hubs and frequent requesters as replica nodes, and dynamically adapting to non uniform and time-varying file popularity and node interest. EAD creates and deletes replicas in a decentralized self-adaptive manner while guarantees high replica utilization. But fails in security issues like In a P2P system where every node is identified by its unique ID. Some Malicious entities that can control ID assignment can probabilistically show themselves as the source of selected content or routing messages, and can therefore subvert the routing protocols, pollute the delivered content, or prevent placement of legitimate content. Hereby it is planned to use identity-based encryption to assist in the security in peer-to-peer systems by assigning an ID and providing the associated identity-based private key to each node.

Abstract: Thermal overload relays are economic electromechanical protection devices which offers reliable protection for electric motors in the event of overload or phase failure. Presently there are two types of overload relays which depend on the temperature characteristics of metals to provide protection by tripping the circuit. These relays lack accuracy as they do not activate the trip circuit at any exact specified temperature. In this paper we introduce a new form of thermal over-load relay actuated by ferrofluid. The ferrofluid has a very accurate transition temperature known as curie temperature. It acts as a ferromagnetic material below the curie temperature and loses the property of ferromagnetism above this temperature. By using this property of the fluid we propose an alternative method for more accurate op-eration under overload condition. This relay finds application in the protection system of electrical machines. Thus, in this paper we present a novel and simple technique for protection against thermal overloading using ferrofluid.
THE AMAZING DIGITAL GLOVES THAT GIVE VOICE TO THE VOICELESS

Abstract: Glove-based systems represent one of the most important efforts aimed at acquiring hand movement data. Generally dumb people use sign language for communication but they find difficulty in communicating with others who do not understand sign language. It is based on the need of developing an electronic device that can translate sign language into speech in order to make the communication take place between the mute communities with the general public possible, a Wireless data gloves is used which is normal cloth driving gloves fitted with flex sensors along the length of each finger and the thumb. Mute people can use the gloves to perform hand gesture and it will be converted into speech so that normal people can understand their expression. This paper provides the map for developing such a digital glove. It also analyzes the characteristics of the device and discusses future wok. A foremost goal of this paper is to provide readers with a basis for understanding glove system technology used in biomedical science.
