THE MAGAZINE “KADRO”: THE PERSPECTIVE OF LANGUAGE AND LITERATURE KADRO DERG S : D L VE EDEB YAT ANLAYI I
Ahmet USLU
Turkish Studies , 2012,
Abstract: After the depression of 1929, in 1930s, when the idea of statism started to lead the world, the magazine “Kadro”, published by some of the Marxist intellectuals except Yakup Kadri Karaosmano lu, mostly supported the intellectuality of new political regime. Therefore, the movement “Kadro” gave voice to the perspective of standing for all kinds of governmental interventions, particularly economical interference and adopted the idea of an authoritarian government. In this article, the magazine “Kadro” will be examined in terms of the perspective of language and literature. The magazine “Kadro” started publishing before Türk Dil Kurumu , and after “TDK” was established, it became the assertor of the new government s view of language and literature. It is known that there are 36 issues of the magazine and when all the issues are scrutinized, the simplification in the language can be detected. In this composition, we will try to shed light on the different points of the movement “Kadro”, which has great impacts on our literary world. 1929 buhran sonras nda dünyada devlet ili in yükseli e ge ti i 1930 lu y llarda, Yakup Kadri Karaosmano lu d nda Marksist bir ge mi e sahip olan bir k s m ayd n n kard bir dergi olan Kadro, o unlukla yeni kurulan rejimi entelektüel a dan destekleyici bir izgi izlemi tir. Dicle Medical Journal , 2003,
Abstract: Difficult asthma is a distinct entity of asthma, comprising approximately %5 of asthmatic patients. There is no agreed definition of difficult asthma. It will include asthma uncontrolled by new standard therapy, steroid dependent, steroid resistant and severe asthma. In this study difficult asthma; clinical features, risk factors, pathophysiology and novel therapies are summarized by literatures.
A Case of Swyer-James (Macleod’s) Syndrome with Bilateral Involvement

Dicle Medical Journal , 2005,
Abstract: Swyer-James (Macleod’s) syndrome (SJMS) is a rare disorder thought to be a complication of childhood infections. Unilateral hyperlucency, reduced lung volume, diminished vascular markings and bronchiectasis may be detected on radiological analysis. Bilateral involvement is rare. We present a 20-yearl-old man who was diagnosed as having bilateral SJMS by radiological analysis and ventilation-perfusion scintigraphy.

Ectopic (heterotopic) pancreas in the mesentery of the jejunum: Imaging findings  [PDF]

Case Reports in Clinical Medicine (CRCM) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/crcm.2013.24075
Abstract:

Ectopic pancreatic tissue in the mesentery of the jejunum is an entity that is seen very rarely. Most patients are asymptomatic and usually this is an incidental ?nding at autopsy or laparotomy. Most of the cases are clinically silent, but symptoms either might be due to the localization of the ectopic tissue or due to the complications including obstruction or bleeding. Surgery is not indicated unless complications occur, so diagnosis is very important for prevention of unnecessary surgery. Here, we present a case that had ectopic pancreatic tissue in the mesentery of the jejunum. We show the computed tomography and magnetic resonance imaging findings of this patient.

An entity mimicking inflammatory breast carcinoma: Granulomatous mastitis  [PDF]
Nihal Uslu
Case Reports in Clinical Medicine (CRCM) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/crcm.2013.24067
Abstract:

Granulomatous mastitis (GM) is a chronic inflammatory breast disease. This pathology was first described by Kersler and Wolloch in 1972 [1]. It is an uncommon cause of a breast mass [2-5]. Awareness of this entity is crucial, because it can clinically and radiologically mimic breast carcinoma, fibroadenoma or fibrocystic changes [3]. It has several appearances radiologically also; biopsy still remains the only way for final diagnoses. Here we present a woman with a breast mass. Our aim is to show ultrasound, mammography and magnetic resonance imaging findings of GM by reviewing the literature.

Alport syndrome: significance of gingival biopsy in the initial diagnosis and periodontal evaluation after renal transplantation

Journal of Applied Oral Science , 2009, DOI: 10.1590/S1678-77572009000600016
Abstract: alport syndrome (as) is an important hereditary disorder affecting the glomerular basement membrane. diagnosis of as is based on the presence of hematuric nephropathy, renal failure, hearing loss, ocular abnormalities and changes in the glomerular basement membrane of the lamina densa. the aims of this case report were to show the changes in the gingival tissues in a patient with as under therapy with cyclosporin-a after renal transplantation and to discuss the possible role of type iv collagen in gingival basal lamina as an alternative approach for the diagnosis of as. a 20-year-old male patient with as underwent periodontal therapy including a series of gingivectomy surgeries. gingival samples obtained during the second surgery were examined histopathologically and by transmission electron microscopy for further pathological examination. gingivectomy procedures have been performed every 6 months over the last 4 years. the excessive and fibrous gingival enlargements resulted in migration of the anterior teeth, but no alveolar bone loss occurred. this is the first report to demonstrate the possible changes in the gingival tissues caused by as. it is suggested that gingival biopsy can be an initial diagnostic tool instead of renal or skin biopsies. proper dental and periodontal care and regular visits to the dentist could provide limited gingival hyperplasia to patients with as.
Assessment of the Histopathological Changes Occurring in the Testis of the Mice Suffering from Experimental Diabetes Induced Using Alloxan

Journal of Animal and Veterinary Advances , 2012,
Abstract: In this study, we aimed to examine the effect of volatile oil extracts of Helichrysum plicatum DC (HP) and Tanacetum balsamita L. (TB) on the histopathology of the testicles of the mice that had alloxan-induced type 1 diabetes or with imitated physiopathology of type 2 diabetes. The volatile oil extracts of HP and TB were injected intra peritoneally in diabetic mice at 12.5, 25 and 50 mg kg-1 doses. Control and reference groups received 0.2 mL serum physiologic intra peritoneally and oral glibenclamide at 0.3 mL kg-1 dose, respectively. Blood samples were withdrawn from tail veins of the mice 1, 2 and 24 h after the treatment and the blood glucose levels were measured. We investigated testicular histopathology of the mice in control and diabetic groups. The examination of the testicles of diabetic mice revealed reduction in diameters of the seminiferous tubules and thickening in the wall of the seminiferous tubules in addition to degenerative changes and decline in the number of spermatogenic cells. There were multinucleated giant cells in the lumens of some seminiferous tubules. No significant shown was detected in the severity of lesions between control group of diabetic mice receiving serum physiologic and the diabetic mice treated with the extracts of HP and TB. TUNEL-positive cells were higher diabetic mice than in control mice. We monitored no marked encouraging effect of HP and TB volatile oil extracts on the testicular histopathology. The reason for this failure might be due to short term use of these extracts. Long term applications of volatile oil extracts of HP and TB at various doses remained to be done to elucidate the potential anti-diabetic effect of these extracts.
