Abstract: defoliator caterpillar cause damages in eucalyptus plantations. a control alternative is the use of trichogramma which, even though has been found parasitizing some species in eucaliptus, does not meet cases of t. arnobia parasitism. the objective of this research was to evaluate the parasitism of trichogramma pratissolii querino & zucchi (hymenoptera: trichogrammatidae) on unviable t. arnobia eggs. unviable t. arnobia eggs were glued on light blue cardboard rectangles, and exposed to the parasitism of t. pratissolii for 24 hours. after this period there was observed 100% mortality of the individuals, though the glued eggs did not present parasitism.

Abstract: Lepidópteros desfolhadores causam danos a plantios de Eucalyptus. Uma alternativa de controle é o uso de Trichogramma, que embora tenha sido relatado parasitando várias espécies em eucalipto, n o se encontra casos de parasitismo em T. arnobia. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o parasitismo de Trichogramma pratissolii Querino & Zucchi (Hymenoptera: Trichogrammatidae) em ovos inviáveis de T. arnobia. Ovos inviáveis de T. arnobia foram colados em retangulos de cartolina azul celeste, e expostos ao parasitismo de T. pratissolii por 24 horas. Após esse período observou-se mortalidade 100% dos indivíduos, sendo que os ovos n o apresentaram parasitismo. Defoliator caterpillar cause damages in Eucalyptus plantations. Abstract: alternatives for the control of pests in forest sectors have been searched. a possibility is the use of the biological control with predators and parasitoids. the objective of this work was to evaluate the parasitism of different trichogramma species in p. nigrispinus egges. for each treatment fifteen p. nigrispinus egges, of the same posture, with one day of age, were agglutinated in rectangles of celestial blue cardboard. they were exposed to the parasitism of 5 female trichogramma species for 24 hours. besides those that underwent the tests, p. nigrispinus egges that were not submitted to the parasitoid presence were used. there were parasitoid adults? that originated from of those eggs born and the viability of all of the five species used was not affected. the predator p. nigrispinus and the parasitoid trichogramma can be used in programs of biological control.

Abstract: Têm-se buscado alternativas para o controle de pragas no setor florestal. Uma possibilidade é a utiliza o do controle biológico com predadores e parasitóides. O objetivo deste trabalho foi avaliar o parasitismo de diferentes espécies de Trichogramma em ovos de P. nigrispinus. Foram colados em retangulos de cartolina azul celeste 15 ovos, de P. nigrispinus, com um dia de idade. Foram utilizados ovos de uma mesma postura em cada tratamento. As cartelas contendo os ovos do predador foram expostas ao parasitismo de fêmeas de cinco espécies de Trichogramma por 24 horas. Como testemunha, foram utilizados ovos de P. nigrispinus que n o foi submetido a presen a do parasitóide. N o houve emergência de adultos do parasitóide oriundos desses ovos e a viabilidade n o foi afetada por nenhuma das cinco espécies utilizadas. O predador P. nigrispinus e o parasitóide Trichogramma podem ser utilizados em programas de controle biológico. Alternatives for the control of pests in forest sectors have been searched. Abstract: The land use and activities undertaken in a watershed define the water’s quantity and quality. This study aimed to characterize the chemical, physical and biochemical of three main streams of the river basin Turvo Sujo (ribeir o S o Bartolomeu e rios Turvo Sujo e Turvo Limpo), and to determine the deoxygenation rate (K1) and reaeration (K2) for these waterways. Were used in the work four sampling points which were collected the water samples. The results of dissolved oxygen are favorable for the aerobic aquatic life development; in S o Bartolomeu the concentration of dissolved oxygen in water was the one with the lowest of the streams evaluated, none of the samples showed high levels of sedimentable solids and solids, only samples 1 and 3 showed high levels of BOD5, water courses 1 and 3 had higher values of K1 because they have higher concentrations of organic matter, and the stream 1 was presented the value of K2 higher. According to the results of alkalinity, acidity and hydrogen potential, samples of water from three streams studied can be considered slightly alkaline. The three streams studied have great facilities reaeration of oxygen due to low depths and creating more turbulence in the surface.

Abstract: krabbe disease (globoid cell leukodystrophy) is an inherited recessive autosomal leukodystrophy caused by deficiency of the enzyme galactocerebrosidase. the lack of this enzyme leads to the build-up of galactolipids that will promote the death of oligodendrocytes and the demyelination of the central and peripheral nervous systems. there are two clinical forms: early onset and late onset. this article reports a case of late onset krabbe disease and discusses the importance of early diagnosis for its prognosis.

Abstract: We present a new real space renormalization-group map, on the space of probabilities, to study the renormalization of the SUSY \phi^4. In our approach we use the random walk representation on a lattice labeled by an ultrametric space. Our method can be extended to any \phi^n. New stochastic meaning is given to the parameters involved in the flow of the map and results are provided.

Abstract: Following the method already developed for studying the actions of GL_q(2,C) on the Clifford algebra C(1,3) and its quantum invariants (Commun. in Algebra 27, 1843-1878(1999)), we study the action on C(1,3) of the quantum group GL_2 constructed by Dipper and Donkin. We are able of proving that there exists only two non-equivalent cases of actions with nontrivial "perturbation". The space of invariants are trivial in both cases. We also prove that each irreducible finite dimensional algebra representation of the quantum group GL_2, q^m\neq 1, is one dimensional. By studying the cases with zero "perturbation" we find that the cases with nonzero "perturbation" are the only ones with maximal possible dimension for the operator algebra \Re.
