Employment Modes from Transactional and Relational Perspectives: An Exploratory Case Study

Abstract: The current study uses a case study approach to investigate why organizations allocate different kinds of employees We adopt relational (social exchange theory) and transactional (agency theory) perspectives to explain the increasing allocation of external employees, in contrast to previous scholars who only emphasize cutting operating costs as the main reason for hiring external employees. Our study shows that opportunism is assumed to be important ― not because everyone is opportunistic but because it is impossible to obtain reliable information concerning the opportunism of the partner. Therefore, to control risk, it is perhaps safer for an organization to hire external workers and then to shorten the cognitive distance between managers and new hires, thereby fostering opportunities for mutual understanding. When trust is built, long-term relationships are easier to maintain and turnover rates typically decrease.
Brief Analysis on China Rural Tourism

Abstract: This paper analyzes the strengths and existing problems in the development of China rural tourism, putting forward some main countermeasures in many areas: strengthening layout and industrial management; promoting the cultural taste of rural tourism products and how to improve the construction and management level of this industry. Additionally, it is discussed in which way that exerts the government’s roles to push up corporately the development of rural tourism industry and living conditions of local people. Key words: China, Rural tourism, Strengths, problems, countermeasure Résumé: L’article présent analyse les points forts et les problèmes existant dans le développement du tourisme rural de Chine et propose des contre-mesures dans bien des domaines : le renforcement de l’arrangment et du management industriel, la promotion des produits culturels du tourisme rural et l’amélioration du niveau de construction et de management de cette industrie. En plus, l’auteur discute de quelle manière le gouvernement joue son r le pour favoriser le développement du tourisme rural et améliorer les conditions de vie de la population locale. Fluorescence Lifetime Imaging Based on Neural Network Algorithm

Abstract: Fluorescence lifetime imaging is a rather effective and powerful method that can be used to analyze complex biological tissues and molecules. However, the traditional approaches of data analysis did not provide a good fit data of auto fluorescence decay data due to the lack of consideration of a continuous distribution of fluorescence lifetime generated from interactions either among fluorophores or between the fluorophores and their environments. In the paper, it was put forward that a neural network algorithm was likely to provide a truer representation of the underlying fluorescence dynamics. The nonlinear model of fluorescence dynamics can be established effectively by using this method. It has advantages of robustness (the initial value of fit is free), stronger ability to treat nonlinear model, better fitting precision and much less processing time. As compared with those of single exponential and multi-exponential decay functions, the novel model can yield the better goodness of fit and more effective calculation using the data from multi-well plate assays of interesting fluorophores chemically and biologically. In the same time, the potential application of neural network algorithm to fluorescence lifetime imaging was discussed.
A Possible CO2 Conducting and Concentrating Mechanism in Plant Stomata SLAC1 Channel

Abstract: Background The plant SLAC1 is a slow anion channel in the membrane of stomatal guard cells, which controls the turgor pressure in the aperture-defining guard cells, thereby regulating the exchange of water vapour and photosynthetic gases in response to environmental signals such as drought, high levels of carbon dioxide, and bacterial invasion. Recent study demonstrated that bicarbonate is a small-molecule activator of SLAC1. Higher CO2 and HCO3– concentration activates S-type anion channel currents in wild-type Arabidopsis guard cells. Based on the SLAC1 structure a theoretical model is derived to illustrate the activation of bicarbonate to SLAC1 channel. Meanwhile a possible CO2 conducting and concentrating mechanism of the SLAC1 is proposed. Methodology The homology structure of Arabidopsis thaliana SLAC1 (AtSLAC1) provides the structural basis for study of the conducting and concentrating mechanism of carbon dioxide in SLAC1 channels. The pKa values of ionizable amino acid side chains in AtSLAC1 are calculated using software PROPKA3.0, and the concentration of CO2 and anion HCO3– are computed based on the chemical equilibrium theory. Conclusions The AtSLAC1 is modeled as a five-region channel with different pH values. The top and bottom layers of channel are the alkaline residue-dominated regions, and in the middle of channel there is the acidic region surrounding acidic residues His332. The CO2 concentration is enhanced around 104 times by the pH difference between these regions, and CO2 is stored in the hydrophobic region, which is a CO2 pool. The pH driven CO2 conduction from outside to inside balances the back electromotive force and maintain the influx of anions (e.g. Cl– and NO3–) from inside to outside. SLAC1 may be a pathway providing CO2 for photosynthesis in the guard cells.

Abstract: It has been widely recognized that the mutations at specific directions are caused by the functional constraints in protein family and the directional mutations at certain positions control the evolutionary direction of the protein family. The mutations at different positions, even distantly separated, are mutually coupled and form an evolutionary network. Finding the controlling mutative positions and the mutative network among residues are firstly important for protein rational design and enzyme engineering.
Characterization and Comparison of Fumonisin B1-Protein Conjugates by Six Methods

Abstract: In order to generate an antibody against a small hapten molecule, the hapten is cross-linked with carrier protein to make it immunogenic. In this study, the hapten (Fumonisin B 1, FB 1) was coupled to ovalbumin (OVA) and bovine serum albumin (BSA), respectively by a short cross-linker reagent (glutaraldehyde, GA). To develop a technique for detecting the conjugation, the hapten-protein conjugates (FB 1-OVA and FB 1-BSA) were characterized thoroughly by ultraviolet (UV) spectroscopy, Fourier transform infrared (FT-IR) spectroscopy, gel electrophoresis and matrix-assisted laser desorption ionization time-of-flight mass spectrometry (MALDI-TOF-MS), respectively. The molecular weights of FB 1-BSA and FB 1-OVA were 74,355.301 Da and 48,009.212 Da, respectively determined by the method of MALDI-TOF-MS. The molecular coupling ratios were 11 and 5 in FB 1-BSA and FB 1-OVA, respectively. In this experiment, MALDI-TOF-MS was selected as the most efficient method to evaluate the cross-linking effect and calculate the molecular coupling ratio.
Optimized collaborative filtering recommendation based on users’ interest degree and feature

Abstract: Collaborative filtering technology is widely used in personalized recommendation system.In order to make the user’s nearest neighbors set more precise and effective,this paper presented an optimized collaborative filtering recommendation algorithm based on users’ interest degree and feature.Firstly,it grouped users through calculating users’ interest degree to items.Secondly,it got the value of the users’ preferences for items when the users had different characteristics.Finally,it used a new method of calculating the similarity degree to calculate the target users’ nearest neighbors set.The result shows that the algorithm enhances the effectiveness and accuracy of the nearest neighbors set,and the recommendation quality has significant improvement than traditional algorithm.
