Revista de História Regional , 2008,
Abstract: This article presents some cultural evidences ocurred in the situations of contact between Europeans and indians in colonial america (sec. XVI and XVII). Showing the aboriginal myths resignification who assumed apostle Thomas identity to the christian missionaries.With this incorporation the jesuits earned while successive apostolic and indians were enclosed in the christian world.

Equatorial F-region irregularities generated by the Rayleigh-Taylor instability mechanism: rocket observations from Brazil
Muralikrishna, Polinaya;Vieira, Leandro Paulino;
Revista Brasileira de Geofísica , 2007, DOI: 10.1590/S0102-261X2007000600016
Abstract: several sounding rockets carrying plasma diagnostic experiments were launched from the brazilian rocket launching stations in natal (5.9os, 35.2ow geog. lat.) and alcantara (2.31os, 44.4ow geog. lat.). langmuir probes (lp) were used to measure the height profiles of electron density and electron temperature and high frequency capacitance (hfc) probes were used to measure electron density. the lp's were also used to measure the amplitude of electron density fluctuations. a detailed study of the characteristic features of electron density irregularities in the scale size range of less than a meter to a few kilometres, observed by rocket-borne electron density probes under different ionospheric conditions is presented here. the main objective of these studies is the identification of these irregularities from the point of view of the dynamic and electrodynamic processes responsible for their generation. the existing theories of the rayleigh taylor instability (rti) mechanism applicable for conditions of the geomagnetic equatorial ionosphere over brazil are critically examined in the light of the observations. the observed characteristics of the irregularities during four rocket launches are compared with the theoretically expected characteristics. these results confirm the operation of a cascade process that is responsible for the generation of a wide spectrum of irregularities. the large-scale irregularities are first generated probably by the rti mechanism that creates conditions favourable for the operation of the cross-field (cfi) or the gradient drift instability (gdi) mechanism. from the k-spectra of irregularities it is possible to obtain the spectral index n corresponding to the height chosen. in most of the cases the estimated spectral indices agree well with those published in the literature for the cases of irregularities generated by the gdi mechanism.

Abstract: The culture of passion fruit presented in recent years expansion of cultivated area, driven mainly by increased domestic consumption of fresh fruit and the juice processed. The Brazil is the largest world producer and consumer of the yellow passion fruit (Passiflora edulis Sims. f. flavicarpa Deg.), but domestic production did not supply the market demand agribusiness. This work aimed to objective evaluates the effects of different electric conductivities of the irrigation water (ECiw), associated to application frequencies of bovine biofertilizer on physical quality of fruits and production of the yellow passion fruit plants. The treatments were distributed in randomized blocks with three repetitions, using the factorial design 5 x 4, referring to levels of ECiw of 0.5, 1.5, 2.5, 3.5 and 4.5 dS m-1, and four frequencies of application of the biofertilizer bovine: without bovine biofertilizer (WBB); with bovine biofertilizer applied one week before of the transplanting (1WBT); application at each interval of 90 days after transplanting (90DAT); and, bovine biofertilizer applied one week before and each interval of 90 days after transplanting (1WBT+90DAT). The increase of the saline concentration of the irrigation water provoked losses of production and physical qualities of the fruits yellow passion fruit plant, being more drastic in the superior conductivity to 2,5 dS m-1. However, reduction of the losses was verified in the treatments with them largest frequency of application of the biofertilizante, resulting in fruits with quality and compatible production with to the demands of the market to the natural and of the industrial section. A cultura do maracujazeiro apresentou nos últimos anos expans o da área cultivada, motivada, principalmente, pelo aumento do consumo interno da fruta in natura e pelo suco processado. Atualmente o Brasil é o maior produtor e consumidor mundial do maracujá amarelo (Passiflora edulis Sims. f. flavicarpa Deg.), no entanto, a produ o nacional n o supriu a demanda do mercado agroindustrial.

Abstract: Frequency domain analyses in electromyographic (EMG) signals are frequently applied to assess muscle fatigue and similar variables. Moreover, Fourier-based approaches are typically used for investigating these procedures. Nonetheless, Fourier analysis assumes the signal as stationary which is unlikely during dynamic contractions. As an alternative method, wavelet-based treatments do not assume this pattern and may be considered as more appropriate for joint time-frequency domain analysis. Based on the previous statements, the purpose of the present study was to compare the application of Short-Time Fourier Transform (STFT) and Continuous Wavelet Transform (CWT) to assess muscle fatigue in dynamic exercise of a 1-km of cycling (time-trial condition). The results of this study indicated that CWT and STFT analyses have provided similar fatigue estimates (slope) (p> 0.05). However, CWT application represents lesser dispersion (p< 0.05) for vastus medialis (189.9 ± 82.1 for STFT vs 148.6 ± 60.2 for CWT) and vastus lateralis (151.6 ± 49.6 for STFT vs 103.5 ± 27.9 for CWT). In conclusion, despite the EMG signal did not change (p> 0.05) according to different methods, it is important to note that these responses seem to show greater values for CWT compared to STFT for 2 superficial muscles. Thereby, we are capable of considering CWT as a reliable and useful method to take into consideration when non-stationary or oscillating exercise models are evaluated.

Abstract: The objective of this study was to evaluate the effect of temperature on germination of Pinus tabuliformis Carrière seed, Pinus gerardiana Wall. ex D. Don and Pinus roxburghii Sarg. Seeds of three species were distributed in Petri dishes with 1% agar solution; for the first step it was placed on a 2-way Grant’s thermogradient plate (a bi-directional incubator) for a period of 28 days and during the second step in an incubator type B.O.D. also for 28 days with non-germinated seeds in the first step. This instrument allows an assessment of a wide regime of constant and alternating temperatures, resulting to 144 different combinations of temperature, scheduled to the temperatures 4°C - 40°C. The lighting regime was 12 hours photoperiod for the two stages of the experiment. The best temperature for the germination of P. tabuliformis was 26.2°C (minimum of 7.9°C and maximum 37.0°C) and P. roxburghii was 15.6
