Value Relevance of Accounting Information and IPO Performance in Indonesia
Tanweer Hasan,Muliaman Hadad,Rifat Gorener
Accounting and Finance Research , 2012, DOI: 10.5430/afr.v2n1p90
Abstract: Therelationship between ex-ante measures of uncertainty of IPO firms and post-IPOmarket performance is well documented in the extant empirical literature both withinthe context developed and emerging markets. The present study is the first toinvestigate the impact of ex-ante uncertainty, as proxied by various financialratios and other information reported in the prospectuses, on the short-runperformance the Indonesian IPO firms using a sample of 71 IPOs over the sampleperiod 2000 through 2008. Results reported in the present study indicate thepresence of a high average market-adjusted first-day IPO return, about 53%, inIndonesia. Furthermore, this strong initial IPO returns in Indonesia arereported to be positively related to the proxy of risk of financial distressbut negatively related to proxies of past profitability and the degree ofestablishment of the issuing firms. The empirical evidence documented in thepresent study conform to a prioriexpectations and are consistent with the empirical evidence reported for otherdeveloped and emerging markets. Theresults reported in this study should be comforting for the general investorsand regulators given the long standing perception of poor quality of accountinginformation in Indonesia. Also, theregulators in smaller-emerging markets would be encouraged by the resultsdocumented in the current study as these results attest to the positive impactof reform measures and relevant regulations on the reliability/quality ofaccounting numbers.
An unusual case of penetrating head injury in a child
Karim Tanweer,Topno Margaret
Journal of Emergencies, Trauma and Shock , 2010,
Abstract: Penetrating head injuries can be the result of numerous intentional or unintentional events, including missile wounds, stab wounds, and motor vehicle or occupational accidents (nails, screw-drivers). Penetrating head injuries in children constitute only a small part of the total number of traumatic head injuries seen in casualty. We report a case of neuro-trauma who was operated in our institution. Patient, 4 years male presented in casualty on 15/01/09 with a iron rod penetrating into the skull.

Echinops of Pakistan with Eight Additions and a New Species
Tanweer Zafar,Rubina Rafiq
Journal of Biological Sciences , 2005,
Abstract: During the taxonomic studies in Echinops of Pakistan and Azad Kashmir. It is suggested that the genus in the area can be divided into three sections. Delimiting characters are involucral bracts, which surrounds the achenes and the florests, which plays the defensive role. Outer bracts have been transferred into the hairs; inner layers are linear, narrow and spathulate, bracts having varied size. Fifteen species in Pakistan in three sections, include the Oligolepis Bunge, Echinops L, Ritropis Greuter Rech.f. Six additions and new species have been reported from Pakistan i.e. E. gedrosiacus Borm, E. sulaimanii Rech. f, E. panthanorum Rech. f, E. chloreleucus. Rech. f, E. leucographus Bunge, E. orientalis Truv. and E. jutial Sp. nova. T. Akhtar.
A Unified Equation of Interactions  [PDF]
Hasan Arslan
Open Journal of Microphysics (OJM) , 2011, DOI: 10.4236/ojm.2011.12005
Abstract: The aim of this study is to combine four fundamental forces in a single equation. Dirac equation is written by putting the Yukawa potential as a representation of the strong and gravitational forces. The ordinary terms seen in the Dirac Equation are treated as the representations of the electromagnetic forces. The Lagrangian of the weak local interaction of the charged particles is converted to the energy representation according to the virial theorem and is put in the equation. Thus four fundamental forces are combined in a unique equation.

American Journal of Industrial and Business Management (AJIBM) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/ajibm.2013.31006
Abstract:

Sustainable supply chain management has emerged as a key approach for enterprises aiming to become environmentally sustainable. The study will investigate the kinds of environmental management practices that are undertaken by companies in greening the supply chain and how these practices affect the environmental and operational performance of the companies. The study provides additional insight into the growing field of literature examining the relationships between environmental policies and operational performance.

Losses in Wireless ATM Networks  [PDF]
Hasan Harasis
Communications and Network (CN) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/cn.2013.53028
Abstract:

The standardized approach to Mobile ATM network handover is a hard backward or forward handover scheme with no guarantees for the integrity of the data stream. These handover functions are detailed in this paper and a more performant virtual connection handover protocol, using in-slot signaling techniques in order to facilitate loss less handover, is introduced. The QoS aspects related to this scheme are discussed and its OAM implementation is presented.

E-Health Telecommunication Systems and Networks (ETSN) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/etsn.2013.22005
Abstract:

Introduction: Integrated Hospital Information System (HIS) is vital to decision making and plays a crucial role in the success of the organization. Computerization of the medical records and documentation has resulted in efficient data management and information dissemination for the users. Hospital Information System addresses the entire major functional areas of modern multi-specialty hospitals. The package enables improved patient care, patient safety, efficiency and reduced costs. It provides easy access to critical information, thereby enabling management to make better decisions on time. Aims: The short-term objectives of the on-line computerized system are to reduce costs and improve the accuracy and timeliness of patient care, accounting and administration, record keeping, and management reporting. The long-term goal is to build and maintain patient database for analysis of data to facilitate decision-making process. Methods: To run the system it requires some Hardware & Database for IT Department. The technique involves Patient Registration System, Finance & Accounts, Human Resource Management System, Laboratory, Out Patient Management System, and Inpatient Management System. Results: In the mid seventies, a complex was established at Shahbag area in the name of Bangladesh Institute of Research and Rehabilitation in Diabetes, Endocrine and Metabolic Disorders (BIRDEM). From 1982 BIRDEM was designated as the WHO collaborating centre for research on prevention and control of diabetes. It is first of its kind outside Europe. Now from 2000 BIRDEM has successfull developed & implemented some crucial part of HIS System like Patient Admission & Billing System, Finanace & Account System, Human Resourse Management & Payroll System, Store Inventory & Procurement Management System, Labrotary Management System, Assets Management System, Radiology & Imaging Management System. Conclusions: It can thus be seen that deploying IT can help

The Distances in the Stable Systems Due to the Virial Theorem  [PDF]
Hasan Arslan
Applied Mathematics (AM) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/am.2013.44094
Abstract:

The virial theorem is written by using the canonical equations of motion in classical mechanics. A moving particle with an initial speed in an n-particle system is considered. The distance of the moving particle from the origin of the system to the final position is derived as a function of the kinetic energy of the particle. It is thought that the considered particle would not collide with other particles in the system. The relation between the final and initial distance of the particle from the origin of the system is given by a single equation.

The Dirac Equation with the Scattered Electron Including Extra Potential Energy Comes from the Virial Theorem  [PDF]
Hasan Arslan
Journal of Modern Physics (JMP) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/jmp.2013.44078
Abstract:

The scattering of electron by a photon is a well-known reaction in physics. In this study, the change in the electron’s energy after the scattering is taken into account. The previous works are searched. In order to take into account this change in the electron’s energy in the equation of motion of the electron, the Dirac equation is used with the virial theorem. The scattered electron kinetic energy which is given to the electron by the loss in photon’s energy is related to the potential energy of the electron by the virial theorem which states that the potential energy is two times of the kinetic energy in minus sign. A first time application of the virial theorem on a scattered electron by a photon is included to the Dirac equation.
