Abstract: with the aim of establishing a chemical marker of polyphenols and validating a hplc method, for assessing the quality of semisolid products, obtained from rhizophora mangle l aqueous bark extract, four methods for extracting the analyte from the sample, were compared. the variant using ethyl acetate and its direct application to the chromatograph was the most effective. the epigalocatequingallate (egcg) was selected as a marker among other polyphenols identified. the semisolid product, under oxidative stress conditions, shows a decline and changes in the chromatographic profile. performance parameters show a linear method in the range of 1-15 ug / ml with a regression coefficient of 0.999, and have a limit of detection and quantification of 2.5 ug / ml and 5.0 ug / ml, respectively. the recovered from egcg in a reagent blank was 89 ± 9%, while, added to the product, was 60.1 ± 3.52 ug / g, due to interactions with the matrix. repeatability studies (rsd) achieved for the standard and the sample were 1.29 and 10.67%, respectively. the reproducibility, estimated from horwitz equation, showed a variation between 8-11%. egcg assessment in product lots showed values ranging between 36.5 and 66.7 ug/ g. the analytical procedure developed, using egcg as a chemical marker, proved to be reliable in the quality control of semi-solid products.
Track Paging an Optimal Method for Minimizing Paging and Signaling Cost in Mobile IP  [PDF]
Tania Baghaie
Journal of Computer and Communications (JCC) , 2013, DOI: 10.4236/jcc.2013.14002

Mobile IP is an Internet standards protocol, which enhances the existing Internet Protocol (IP) to accommodate mobility. In mobile IP protocol, to find the exact location of mobile node for transferring incoming packets to them has a lot of signaling cost. So increasing the performance and decreasing the signaling cost are challenges of this protocol. Using the paging mechanism, its operation is in such a way that it can reduce Relocation update cost and save on power consumption in a mobile node. In addition, it can improve the performance of network by decreasing the need to register an idle mobile node. Mobile IP, currently does not support paging. Therefore, after introducing the mobile IP protocol and reporting related works, this paper will try to introduce a way to add paging support to the Mobile IP. Track paging is proposed to reduce the number of registration message of an idle mobile node to the mobile node’s home agent by waiving broad casting method and paging area size. Analytical results show that Track paging can significantly improve the total signaling cost of MIP vs. previous methods. Results also show that specifying the optimal paging area is critical in saving signaling cost of a MIP with paging support.

Abstract: this paper tries to continue the way started by a previous one about didactics of our own disciplines in the polimodal level, where we proposed to read a theatrical play about the philosopher baruch spinoza and analyze different aspects of it from both philosophy and literature. in this opportunity, we would like to show how it is possible to work with a philosophical text, socrates'apology, in both disciplinary spaces. though many teachers use non traditional resources (literary texts, comics, movies, news' articles...) in the teaching of philosophy, usually it's very hard to find bibliography which describes systematically how the experience could be concreted. besides the philosophical questions that we could distinguish in apology (philosophy's concept, philosophical method, pedagogic conception, ethical values…), from perspective of literature this text allows to undertake its teaching from a present theoretical frame, the discourse's theory. while we put in evidence the connections that exist between different discourse practices (artistic and non artistic) of one society and the differences between reality and discourse, the student will have the possibility of thinking about fallacy of some disciplinary prejudices that troubled his access to literary/philosophical texts and will open his reading of world as a big cultural text.

Abstract: invasive meningococcal disease constitutes a worldwide health problem. gram negative bacteria, neisseria meningitidis is the causal agent of this disease. plain or conjugated polysaccharide vaccines are available against four of five serogroups responsible of more than 95% of cases in the world. because serogroup b polysaccharide is non immunogenic, some vaccine candidates, based on outer membrane proteins have been obtained and evaluated in clinical trials. bactericidal activity determination and elisa igg have been used to evaluate immune response generated by antimeningococcal vaccines. the latter has been used, as potency test, to release va-mengoc-bc? vaccine lots, produced at finlay institute. as a result of the collaboration with norwegian researchers, a vaccine candidate based on outer membrane proteins against serogroups a and w 135 , has been obtained and evaluated in animal models. the current work describes the standardization of an elisa method to be used in the immune response evaluation of the bivalent vaccinal candidate.
Understanding the Future of Change Agency in Sustainability Through Cellular Automata Scenarios: The Role of Timing ?
Ricardo Sosa
Sustainability , 2011, DOI: 10.3390/su3040578
Abstract: One of the main interdisciplinary challenges today is to understand and change the dominant social perceptions and values that support and perpetuate unsustainable practices. Social computational simulations have been conceived in recent years to understand emergent results from complex systems. These dynamic social models are of interest to sustainability researchers because they provide a means to implement hypotheses and explore scenarios that could help extend our understanding of the future role of change agency in society. Change agents are individuals who directly or indirectly enable sustainable behaviors or inhibit practices that damage the environment and large social groups. Evidence-based strategies, guidelines and methods are necessary in order to manage creative change agency more effectively. This paper presents work with computational simulations, known as cellular automata, in order to explore the role of timing in triggering social change through uncoordinated, autonomous individual action. The paper identifies a number of issues related to creative change agency and proposes associated guidelines for practitioners. As a means of early validation, these findings are portrayed against empirical studies in the literature.
Abstract: this paper offers a review of the problems raised by the active presence of the spanish inquisition in venezuela and their repressive actions regarding the so called forbidden books. the goal of the inquisition was to eliminate any printed material spreading ideas that opposed the dogmas of the catholic church, persecuting bibles printed in languages other than latin and other books the contents of which had been declared prejudicial by the papacy in the so called index. this persecution was also carried out in venezuela as one of the basic tasks of the inquisitory officials. all this prompted the study of all the cases of venezuelans accused of the inquisitory crime of possession and reading of forbidden books whose cases were filed and carried out up to a verdict. the involvement of people that belonged to the criollos? owners class as well as a wide diffusion of works by foreign authors was observed and studied.

Trabajo y sociedad , 2010,
Abstract: this article has as it principal aim to explore the impacts of states change since ’70′s middle in argentine onto the interaction and action structure of political provincially stages and its influence to provincial actors characteristics. it focus in the influences on the provinces to tree changes state dimensions: the reconfiguration of relation ship between nation and province since commence new structure and functions of provincial and national public administrations; the qualitative changes in the origin and composition to the province incomes. finally, it analyzes the heterogenic impacts in the provinces, especially in the local development, of the new structural economic profile and governmental regulation. this paper holds a thesis: the changes states mined a des monopolistic and des states process that made a new stage of interaction to political provincially actors.
Trabajo y sociedad , 2011,
Abstract: the principal aim of this article is to rebuild the construction of legitimacy of the frente para la victoria (fpv) in santa cruz's political scene, from its born in 1988 to the rise to government in 1991. this paper recognized three types of construction of legitimacy to replace declining traditional parties's legitimacy: ucr, pj, pi and mid, between others. in this context, the fpv deployed legitimacy's strategies aimed at diverse groups and adding referents of different parties trajectories. in second place, the discourses and the conformation of the political elencos from the fvs tried to represent the typical fragmentation of a society formed for several migratory segments. finally, the fpv made a new a-political parties offer in keeping with the representations about the crisis of state during middle 80's, in which values as management, efficiency, order, work and governability played an important role. the fvs's legitimacy strategies show how the first stage of political power construction was a effect of its trajectory in the boundaries of weak social and politics groups.
