Abstract: since the impact of breastfeeding on the response to vaccination is controversial, we studied the effect of breastfeeding on humoral response to tetanus and diphtheria vaccination in two years old children who have ended the immunization basic stage of the vaccination schedule. forty-four children were selected, they were then divided into two study groups according to the time they were breastfeeding. solid phase immunosorbent assays (elisa) were used to determine concentrations of diphtheria and tetanus antitoxin. after applying the student test to results, it was proved that exclusive breastfeeding for six months or longer showed an increase in the concentrations of diphtheria antitoxin, while there was no difference of tetanus antitoxin concentrations detected among children exclusively breastfed for six months or more, with those breastfed for lesser periods.

Abstract: competition integrates abilities, attitudes and knowledge; characterize the capability to accomplish a task efficiently, to practice a profession, to resolve professional problems of autonomous and flexible form, to collaborate at the professional surroundings and in the organization of work. when changes labor space and the science develop, the modeling of competitions varies, because the fringe benefit of services demands a preparation that respond to new knowledge and introduction of technologies that the doctor will have to apply. each science contributes with knowledge that hold work at the clinic and health practice that graduate will execute. in this work we appraise the contribution of immunology to the quality of medical graduate relating to his professional competitions and the present-day deficiencies in the formation. in order to make competitions perfect, the teaching of immunology can do contributions, but requires changes in his conception, their curricular position and in the methods used for his teaching, considering the principal problems of health implicating immune system in etiopatogenia. this teaching will guide the manners of action and of performance of the doctor in the community

Abstract: La competencia integra habilidades, actitudes y conocimientos caracteriza la Ccapacidad para ejercer una profesión eficientemente y resolver problemas profesionales de forma autónoma y flexible. Cuando cambia el ámbito laboral y se desarrolla la Ciencia, el modelado de competencias varía, porque la prestación de servicios exige una preparación que responda a nuevos conocimientos e introducción de tecnologías que el médico deberá aplicar. Cada ciencia aporta conocimientos que sustentan el trabajo en la práctica de salud que ejecutará el egresado. Valoramos la contribución de la Inmunología a la calidad del egresado de Medicina en relación con sus competencias profesionales y las deficiencias actuales en la formación. Para perfeccionar las competencias, la ense anza de la Inmunología puede hacer aportes, pero requiere cambios en su inserción en la Carrera y en los métodos para su ense anza, partiendo de los principales problemas de salud que poseen una etiopatogenia en la que está involucrado el sistema inmune, orientada a los modos de acción y actuación del médico en la comunidad. Track Paging an Optimal Method for Minimizing Paging and Signaling Cost in Mobile IP  [PDF]

Abstract:

Mobile IP is an Internet standards protocol, which enhances the existing Internet Protocol (IP) to accommodate mobility. In mobile IP protocol, to find the exact location of mobile node for transferring incoming packets to them has a lot of signaling cost. So increasing the performance and decreasing the signaling cost are challenges of this protocol. Using the paging mechanism, its operation is in such a way that it can reduce Relocation update cost and save on power consumption in a mobile node. In addition, it can improve the performance of network by decreasing the need to register an idle mobile node. Mobile IP, currently does not support paging. Therefore, after introducing the mobile IP protocol and reporting related works, this paper will try to introduce a way to add paging support to the Mobile IP. Track paging is proposed to reduce the number of registration message of an idle mobile node to the mobile node’s home agent by waiving broad casting method and paging area size. Analytical results show that Track paging can significantly improve the total signaling cost of MIP vs. previous methods. Results also show that specifying the optimal paging area is critical in saving signaling cost of a MIP with paging support.

Abstract: Skin cancer incidence is increasing at alarming rates and is considered by some as an epidemic. Its incidence is higher than all other cancers combined. The developments of new treatments have not parallelled the increased incidences of this disease. A variety of treatments are available with differing outcomes. More recently a novel topical treatment, consisting of the antineoplastic compounds solasodine rhamnosyl glycosides, solamargine and solasonine, which are derived from plant material, has been described that claims to have many advantages over the currently used skin cancer therapies. This review investigates such claims.

Abstract:
A final state wave function of multiple scattering theory developed by Das and seal is utilized in the present study to calculate the triple differential cross sections (TDCS) for the ionization of metastable 3S state hydrogen atoms at incident electron energy of 250 eV with the exchange effects in the asymmetric coplanar geometry for various kinematic conditions. Our present calculation results are compared with the available hydrogenic ground state experimental data and other existing theoretical results. A good qualitative agreement is shown with those of compared results of the present study specifically with hydrogenic ground state experimental data and metastable 2S and 2P state with exchange effect results. These new results offer an extensive scope for experimental verification in such ionization process.

Abstract: Pollution of the biosphere by heavy metals is a global hazard that has accelerated since the beginning of the industrial revolution. Toxic heavy metals are harmful to living organisms even at low concentrations whereas heavy metals that are essential trace elements are required by plants at low concentrations but can become toxic at high concentrations. Heavy metals released from different sources accumulate in soil and, where bioavailability is high enough; can adversely affect soil biological functioning and other properties, leading to the loss of soil and ecosystem fertility and health. It is important that heavy metal contaminated sites are remediated as heavy metals do not decompose into less harmful substances like organic contaminants, and thus are retained in the soil. In this review, we survey and analysis our current knowledge and understanding of the abundance of heavy metals in soil, their phytoavailability, their toxicity, their uptake and transport, role of rhizobia and other microbes and overall rhizosphere processes.

Abstract: health-related quality of life (hrql) is an assessment concept significant to clinical decisions. we examine bioethical aspect in multi-items questionnaires and clinical practice by documental review of 7 hrql generic validate instrument and by 15 experts opinions expressed in opinion poll and 5 interview. in opinion poll we estimate the affirmative answer frequency about the existence of bioethical domains in health-related quality of life instrument and medical practice. interviews enquire about bioethics dilemmas in hrql study. bioethical domains lack in all revised instrument, in agree with experts opinions. knowledge about bioethics of health-related quality of life is lacking in medical care practice, in issues surrounding informed consent, dilemmas in end-of-life care, individual autonomy/beneficence balance, circumstances and consequences of health care medical decisions among others. experts think that stressful life and socioeconomic conditions, equality and inequity and sustainable environment dilemmas, must be include in study of hrql.
Presentation of a Validated Checklist as a Tool for Assessing, Preventing and Managing Food Waste in Foodservices  [PDF]

Abstract: More researches are needed to identify the relevant factors influencing the generation of food waste and devise preventive strategies. The objective of this study is to develop a checklist to assess the good management practices that have a positive impact on eliminating or minimizing food waste in food service units. A theoretical list of relevant factors impacting the generation of food waste during meal production is developed, taking into account administrative planning, receipt and storage of foods, and the preparation and distribution of meals by food service units. For each factor, several administrative and/or technical actions are identified. To validate the content, this list is submitted to a ten-member expert panel for a final evaluation. The factor (and its respective actions) is considered relevant if 80% of the expert panel members agree on its relevance. All actions employ a dichotomous response of Yes/No. Affirmative responses are expected because these actions are considered to be good management practices that have a positive impact on eliminating or minimizing food waste. Following the panel approval process, a checklist of 12 factors and 102 actions is detailed. The conceptual structure of the checklist for food waste management presented in this study enables a comprehensive understanding of the factors that impact food waste, providing a theoretical basis for future research into the relative importance of the relevant factors and actions identified in this study.
Category-Based Intrusion Detection Using PCA  [PDF]

Abstract: Existing Intrusion Detection Systems (IDS) examine all the network features to detect intrusion or misuse patterns. In feature-based intrusion detection, some selected features may found to be redundant, useless or less important than the rest. This paper proposes a category-based selection of effective parameters for intrusion detection using Principal Components Analysis (PCA). In this paper, 32 basic features from TCP/IP header, and 116 derived features from TCP dump are selected in a network traffic dataset. Attacks are categorized in four groups, Denial of Service (DoS), Remote to User attack (R2L), Remote to User attack (U2R) and Probing attack. TCP dump from DARPA 1998 dataset is used in the experiments as the selected dataset. PCA method is used to determine an optimal feature set to make the detection process faster. Experimental results show that feature reduction can improve detection rate for the category-based detection approach while maintaining the detection accuracy within an acceptable range. In this paper KNN classification method is used for the classification of the attacks. Experimental results show that feature reduction will significantly speed up the train and the testing periods for identification of the intrusion attempts.
