THERMODYNAMICS OF MARTENSITIC TRANSFORMATION IN β-Cu BASE ALLOYS

Abstract: An approach for the thermodynamics of the thermoelastic martensitic transformation in β-Cubase alloys is suggested.Driving forces for martensitic transformation,T_0 and M_s tempera-tures in Cu-Zn,Cu-Al and Cu-Zn-Al alloys were calculated and the calculated M_s are ingood agreement with the experimental ones.Ordering of the parent phase lowers M_s(T_0)inCu-Zn and Cu-Zn-Al alloys,but raises M_s(T_0)in Cu-Al alloys.Two methods for the es-timation of the critical driving force for the thermoelastic martensitic transformation are alsointroduced.
A Mixed-control Mechanism Model of Proeutectoid Ferrite Growth under Non-equilibrium Interface Condition in Fe-C Alloys

Abstract: By combining the α/γ interface migration and the carbon diffusion at the interface in Fe-C alloys, a mathematical model is constructed to describe the mixed-control mechanism for proeutectoid ferrite formation from austenite. In this model, the α/γ interface is treated as non-equilibrium interface, i.e., the carbon concentration of austenite at γ/α interface is obtained through theoretical calculation, instead of that assumed as the local equilibrium concentration.For isothermal precipitation of ferrite in Fe-C alloys, the calculated results show that the rate of interface migration decreases monotonically during the whole process, while the rate of carbon diffusion from γ/α interface into austenite increases to a peak value and then decreases. The process of ferrite growth may be considered as composed of three stages: the period of rapid growth, slow growth and finishing stage. The results also show that the carbon concentration of austenite at γ/α interface could not reach the thermodynamic equilibrium value even at the last stage of ferrite growth.

Abstract: Supposing carbon contents of ferrite phases in pearlite precipitating from austenite in multicomponent steel at temperature T and in Fe-C ystem at T' are the same the pearlite formation temperature diference, can be calculated from the FeX phase diagrams and the equilibrium temperature Al. Using Tp and Fe-C binary thermodynamic model, the driving forces for phase transformation from austenite to pearlite in multicomponent steels have been successfully calculated. Through the combination of simplified Zener and Hillert's model for pearlite growth with Johnson-Mehl equation, using data from known TTT diagrams, the interfacial energy parameter and activation energy for pearlite formation can be determined and expressed as functions of chemical composition in steels by regression analysis. The calculated starting curves of pearlitic transformation in some commercial steels agree well with the experimental data.

Abstract: Proeutectoid ferrite with carbon content xo precipitating from austenite in a multicomponent steel at temperature T is supposed to be equivalent to proeutectoid ferrite with the same carbon content precipitating from austenite in Fe-C binary system at temperature T'.is described as the temperature difference of proeutectiod ferrite formation, and can be calculated from the Fe-X diagrams and the equilibrium temperature A3. By introducing Tf and basing on the thermodynamic model for Fe-C binary alloy, the driving force for phase transformation from austenite to proeutectoid ferrite in multicomponent steels has been successfully calculated. Through the Johnson-Mehl equation and using the data hem known TTT diagrams, the relationship between the chemical composition and the intedecial edenly packeter as well as activation energy for proeutectoid ferrite formation can be calculated. The starting curves of proeutectoid ferritic transformation calculated in this way in some hypo-proeutectoid structural steels agree well with the erperimental data.

Abstract: An ERP implementation takes many years to complete and requires a large amount of IT investment and their effectiveness is hard to evaluate. Companies implement ERP systems to integrate the business processes of a company, and help organizations obtain a competitive advantage. In each ERP implementation stage, Business Process Reengineering (BPR) plays different important roles. This study examined the process problems (system process / business process), BPR and performance of ERP systems by using the questionnaire survey and AVOVA analysis. We also examined the relationship between degree of BPR and ERP system performance using regression analysis.

Abstract: Overseas adoption from South Korea is a widespread phenomenon in the West. Adoption studies have focused on early development and post-adoption adjustment during childhood and socioeconomic success during adult-hood. However, few studies deal with dating experiences and marital status of Korean adoptees, while these as-pects are a key factor determining subjective well-being and sociocultural integration. Several studies and popu-lar media highlight the status inferiority of Asian males compared to Asian females in the heterosexual Western courtship system. We therefore hypothesize that male Korean adoptees have more difficulties finding a partner than their female counterparts. Using a dataset stemming from a survey conducted among 290 adult adoptees living in the West, we indeed found that, after controlling for the effect of age and current income, males ex-pressed more difficulty in finding a partner and were more likely to be single than their female peers in their adoptive Western country. This gender disparity may have implications for policy makers who are concerned with general well-being of transracial adoptees and Asian minorities in the West.
New Naturally Occurring Product Extract as Corrosion Inhibitor for 316 Stainless Steel in 5% HCl

Abstract: Medipolymorphol, a new sterol isolated from the whole plant of Medicago polymorpha Roxb was used as corrosion inhibitor for 316 stainless steel in 5% HCI at room temperature. Electrochemical techniques have been found to be reliable in evaluating corrosion characteristics of the system. Several techniques have been used including Tafel, linear polarization, potentiodynamic polarization, and open circuit potential (OCP) studies. The additives simultaneously deaccelerated the anodic process, intensified the cathodic process and provided a stable passive state, giving good inhibition efficiencies to stainless steel electrodes. In addition, adsorption isotherm have been fitted for the inhibitor under investigation.
Transform Domain Based Multi-Channel Noise Cancellation Based on Adaptive Decorrelation and Least Mean Mixed-Norm Algorithm

Abstract: In this study, a transform domain based adaptive noise cancellation algorithm is proposed to enhance noise carrying speech signals. The algorithm deals with situations where the microphones should locate in close proximity, as they cancel out the crosstalk effects. In other words, the source of the noise signal is not available separately and is independent of the desired speech signal. This is the case in mobile phones and hands-free systems, where the smallness of the dimension of the applied speech enhancement system is desirable. In the proposed algorithm the Discrete Sine Transform (DST) is used as self orthogonalizing transform to address the eigen-spread problem of adaptive filter, whereas Least Mean Mixed-Norm (LMMN) adaptation algorithm and Symmetric Adaptive Decorrelation (SAD) structure are applied to improve the convergence rate of the adaptive filter and make a considerable improvement in the performance of the noise cancellation procedure. Also, the Voice Activity Detection (VAD) is used to reduce the computational costs and decrease the execution time. However in this study, there was an utmost attempt to consider all of the practical problems, while the minimum simplifying assumptions are made. The simulation results have proven the robustness of this algorithm compared with commonly used algorithms, in the sense of SNR and MSE improvement and speech intelligibility.

Abstract: this work describes the effort to construct a decision support model for fleet routing in the distribution of a food industry. the sweep algorithm was employed, obtaining better results than the previous approch. on the other hand, the model helped to segregate distribution channel operations of sales and physical sistribution. a set of productivity indicators was also developed to allow better managerial control of that activity.
