O.A. Ashaye,T.A. Adegbulugbe,S. Sanni
World Journal of Agricultural Sciences , 2005,
Abstract: A survey was conducted in the year to assess soybean processing technologies in Ilorin east and West local government area of Kwara State in Nigeria. Highest percentages of processors (45%) procure their raw materials from farmers and market places while (45%) of fabricators obtain theirs from Owode Onirin in Ilorin. Both processors (40%) and Fabricators (40%) greatly patronize cooperative societies for their loans. Soycheese (42.5%) was the most popular soybean based food. Traditional method of processing (72.5%) was the most popular in comparison to modern equipment's (27.5%). Greater number of people involved in processing and fabrication activities were between the ages of (30-50) years. The method of single handling technique (67.5%) was the most popular.
Evaluation of the Processing Technologies of Cassava Chips and Flour in Oyo and Ogun States of Nigeria
O.A. Ashaye,T.A. Adegbulugbe,O.J. Dawodu
World Journal of Agricultural Sciences , 2005,
Abstract: A survey was conducted between January and August in the year to evaluate the processing technologies of cassava chips and flour in Oyo and Ogun States. About (37.5%) obtain their raw materials from their own farms and farm gate while 62.5% was from market purchase. Higher percentage of processors (80.95%) obtain their capital from personal savings. Cassava flour was the most popular (70%). Semi-modern method of processing (76.19%) was the most popular in comparison to other materials. Greater percentage (80.95%) for whole sale while most of the processors are married (85.7%). Also, most of their enterprise are located residencially.
Design, Construction and Evaluation of a Twin-BlockMaking Machine for Farm Structures
Segun R. Bello,E.C. Okafor,P.S.N. Onyekwere,T.A. Adegbulugbe
Journal of Engineering and Applied Sciences , 2012,
Abstract: The design and construction of a twin-block making machine was carried out as an improvement on the manual production of single block locally with a lot of ergonomic problems resulting from frontal loading and back straining. Material mix is fed into the machine, compressed and cranked up to remove the blocks from the mould. The machine is powered manually by a chain operated lever arm. The machine is capable of producing two standard size blocks, 457.2x127x228.6 and 457.2x152x4x228.6 mm3 per operation. The calculated work (input) required to lift the two-block load of 529.5 N through a height of 0.279 m by the machine has been determined to be 147.73 J with an effort arm of 99.15 N. The output of the machine in terms of production capacity indicated that the machine has a throughput of 800 blocks h-1 compare to hand mould with 432 blocks h-1, one moulder/operator and a helper. The efficiency of the machine was found to be 92.4%.
Estrous cycle and stress: influence of progesterone on the female brain
Lovick, T.A.;
Brazilian Journal of Medical and Biological Research , 2012, DOI: 10.1590/S0100-879X2012007500044
Abstract: the female brain operates in a constantly changing chemical milieu caused by cyclical changes in gonadal hormones during the estrous cycle (menstrual cycle in women). such hormones are highly lipophilic and pass readily from the plasma to the brain where they can influence neuronal function. it is becoming clear that the rapid reduction in peripheral circulating progesterone, which occurs during the late diestrous phase of the cycle, can trigger a withdrawal-like response, in which changes in gabaa receptor expression render hyper-responsive certain brain areas involved in processing responses to stressful stimuli. the periaqueductal gray matter (pag) is recognised as an important region for integrating anxiety/defence responses. withdrawal from progesterone, via actions of its neuroactive metabolite allopregnanolone, triggers up-regulation of extrasynaptic gabaa receptors on gabaergic neurons in the pag. as a consequence, ongoing gabaergic tone on the output cells decreases, leading to an increase in functional excitability of the circuitry and enhanced responsiveness to stressful stimuli during the late diestrous phase. these changes during late diestrus could be prevented by short-term neurosteroid administration, timed to produce a more gradual fall in the peripheral concentration of allopregnanolone than the rapid decrease that occurs naturally, thus removing the trigger for the central withdrawal response.
Effects of Parental Involvement on Students Attitude and Performance in Science
T.A. Oluwatelure
The Social Sciences , 2013,
Abstract: This study examines the attitude of students towards Biology and Chemistry. There was also a focus on the parental involvement. This research was set out find out how parental involvement influences students attitude towards and performance in the two science subjects. An attitude questionnaire developed and standardized by the researcher was used. It s split-half reliability coefficient yielded 0.59 and 0.51 for Biology and Chemistry, respectively. Three hypotheses were raised and tested. The result obtained using chi-square analysis revealed that the status of the home has implication on school learning and that performances of students in science is a function of their attitudes to the subject. The phenomena observed were discussed in the light of prevailing conditions in most of the developing West African countries. Conclusively, home influence can be a tool to enhance school learning.
Perception of Academic Integrity Violation and Examination Issues by Selected Members of the University Community
T.A. Oluwatelure
Pakistan Journal of Social Sciences , 2012,
Abstract: This research was carried out to investigate into the perception of academic integrity violation among selected member of the university community. One hundred and fifty respondents participate in the study. This was made up of 50 under graduates, 50 young graduates and older graduates (senior lecturers and professors). Descriptive research design of the survey type was employed in this study. A self-constructed questionnaire was administered to the respondents. The data obtained was analyzed using both descriptive and inferential statistics. A statistically is significant difference was observed in the incidence and prevalence of extermination malpractice and miscellaneous offences as perceived by the 3 categories of respondents (undergraduate, young graduate and old graduate), a statistically significant difference was observed in the mean perception of the nature of examinees and factors that affect them by the 3 categories of respondents (undergraduate, young graduate and old graduate). Based on these findings, it was recommended that the younger ones should embrace the ideals and the values, which were embraced by the older generation. Geometric increase of learners enrolment should be by the correspondent increase in infrastructure and adequate academic planning. Less emphasis should be placed on paper qualification. We should all embraced that great values called dignity of labour. This study suggests a bringing back into our community, high integrity in all facet of our endeavor.

Social and psychological aspects of human creativity development in educational process
T.A. Krasilo
Psihologi?eskaa Nauka i Obrazovanie , 2013,
Abstract: We consider the contradictory influences of society on the development of human creativity, which is the following. Social experience lays the foundation for creative activities in imagination development and formation of interests, needs, motivations and positive attitude to reality. This leads to the conclusion that the development of a creative personality in a “free” education is impossible. However, social experience often gives rise to internal limitations of creative ideas –and becomes a source of erecting barriers to creativity. A way to resolve this contradiction, proposed in the article, is considering as a “limiter” of creative activity not the social knowledge, but attitudes to them as unquestionable absolute rule requiring mandatory compliance. This approach allows us to look for possible ways of development of human creativity through the formation of the educational process in the course of relationship to acquired social experience as an evolving, changing system.
