Abstract: A detail study of sea snakes (family: Hydrophidae) occurring in the Coramantal coastal region (south east coast of India) has reveled the presence of thirteen species included in five genera. In this study the systematic, ecology, biology and distribution of thirteen species embraced in five genera, which are present in the collections done during 2003 to 2006 are given. The distribution patterns of all the valid species known to occur in the Coramantal coastal region are also included from a detailed study of the literature.

Abstract: With an increase in financial accounting fraud in the current economic scenario experienced, financial accounting fraud detection has become an emerging topics of great importance for academics, research and industries. Financial fraud is a deliberate act that is contrary to law, rule or policy with intent to obtain unauthorized financial benefit and intentional misstatements or omission of amounts by deceiving users of financial statements, especially investors and creditors. Data mining techniques are providing great aid in financial accounting fraud detection, since dealing with the large data volumes and complexities of financial data are big challenges for forensic accounting. Financial fraud can be classified into four: bank fraud, insurance fraud, securities and commodities fraud. Fraud is nothing but wrongful or criminal trick planned to result in financial or personal gains. This paper describes the more details on insurance sector related frauds and related solutions. In finance, insurance sector is doing important role and also it is unavoidable sector of every human being.

Abstract: This article explores data mining techniques in health care. In particular, it discusses data mining and its application in areas where people are affected severely by using the under- ground drinking water which consist of high levels of fluoride in Krishnagiri District, Tamil Nadu State, India. This paper identifies the risk factors associated with the high level of fluoride content in water, using clustering algorithms and finds meaningful hidden patterns which gives meaningful decision making to this socio-economic real world health hazard.

Abstract: Amphiprion sebae kept in the recirculating Marine Research Aquarium spawned a maximum of 0.8 times per month throughout the year. This is the first spawning record from a recirculating aquarium environment. Generally the spawning of A. sebae has been described from fresh seawater by various authors. The present study mainly observes the maintenance of brooders, their pairing and spawning in recirculating aquarium environment. Among the 54 adult fishes collected from the natural environment, three pairs are formed in the aquaria. The parental care of egg guarding male was observed. Three pairs are fed with different feed i.e., prawn meat, fish meat and a combination of prawn, fish and clam meats. The spawning frequency was observed to be moderately high (0.8/month) when fed with the mixed feed, whereas a frequency of 0.5 and 0.6 per months was observed when fed with prawn, fish meats respectively. The maximum clutch size (911) was observed also in mixed feeds and it was minimum (395) when the pairs were fed with fish meat alone. The increase in the frequency of spawning was during summer months compared to other months.

Abstract: The methanol extract of the root of Aegle marmelos, a medicinal plant, was fractionated into eight fractions using column chromatography. The anti-diabetic activity of all the fractions was studied using the glucose uptake by isolated rat hemi-diaphragm in vitro model. Using the bioassay-guided fractionation, two compounds 1 and 2 were isolated by column chromatography and identified as 6-methyl-4-chromanone and skimmianine respectively by NMR and mass spectral methods.
Biomedical potential of silver nanoparticles synthesized from calli cells of Citrullus colocynthis (L.) Schrad

Abstract: The callus extract react with silver nitrate solution confirmed silver nanoparticles synthesis through the steady change of greenish colour to reddish brown and characterized by using FT-IR, AFM. Toxicity on HEp 2 cell line assessed using MTT assay, caspase -3 assay, Lactate dehydrogenase leakage assay and DNA fragmentation assay.The synthesized silver nanoparticles were generally found to be spherical in shape with size 31 nm by AFM. The molar concentration of the silver nanoparticles solution in our present study is 1100 nM/10 mL. The results exhibit that silver nanoparticles mediate a dose-dependent toxicity for the cell tested, and the silver nanoparticles at 500 nM decreased the viability of HEp 2 cells to 50% of the initial level. LDH activities found to be significantly elevated after 48 h of exposure in the medium containing silver nanoparticles when compared to the control and Caspase 3 activation suggested that silver nanoparticles caused cell death through apoptosis, which was further supported by cellular DNA fragmentation, showed that the silver nanoparticles treated HEp2 cells exhibited extensive double strand breaks, thereby yielding a ladder appearance (Lane 2), while the DNA of control HEp2 cells supplemented with 10% serum exhibited minimum breakage (Lane 1). This study revealed completely would eliminate the use of expensive drug for cancer treatment.Citrullus colocynthis (Bitter cucumber) belongs to the family of cucurbitaceae, which are abundantly grown along the arid soils of Southeast coast of Tamil Nadu. It has a large, fleshy perennial root, which sends out slender, tough, angular, scabrid vine-like stems. Abstract: CAD system provides an Medical assistance by scanning images from Computer Tomography for suspicious masses and highlights the segments like presence of tumors, neural blockage etc. Our project is used to improve the efficiency of CAD system and to detect the growth of tumor in efficient manner. This system is carried out by two processes. First, the image is preprocessed for the easier analysis and, second is the segmentation process, where the hybrid segmentation algorithm is used to detect the edge and create the database then the ROI are extracted from database. Finally the assessment of tumor growth is carried out using a nearest neighbor rule. This experimental result can help radiologist to improve the diagnosis efficiency by calculating the tumor growth in each stage accurately.
