Influence of Culture on Service Recovery Expectations
Swati Sharma
Indian Streams Research Journal , 2012,
Abstract: The positive effects of service recovery and customer satisfaction are welldocumented in literature.(Spreng, Harrell, and Mackoy 1995, Hess 2003, McCole,Patrick,2004, Maxham III 2001; Swanson and Kelley 2001).However researchers arguethat a satisfactory recovery varies according to a range of relational factors likeconsumers' relational recovery expectations(Anderson and Sullivan 1993).The questionremains as to why one or more recovery initiatives (e.g., apology, empathy, compensation, replacement, process control, timeliness, assurance of no recurrence) areindispensable in one situation but pointless in another
Error Probability of Different Modulation Schemes for OFDM based WLAN standard IEEE 802.11a
sanjeev kumar,Swati Sharma
International Journal of Engineering , 2010,
Abstract: Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM) is a key technique for achieving high data rates and spectral efficiency requirements for wireless communication systems. This paper presents a modeling and simulation of OFDM based on WLAN standard (IEEE 802.11a). Performance of OFDM is evaluated for different modulation schemes such as PSK, QAM, DQPSK, and OQPSK. The performance of OFDM is compared in terms of BER vs SNR for different modulation formats.
Host age as predisposing factor for incidence of black leaf spot of cauliflower caused by Alternaria brassicae and Alternaria brassicicola
SWATI DEEP and PRATIBHA SHARMA*
Indian Phytopathology , 2012,
Abstract: The age of host leaf and pathogenic nature are very important parameters while evaluating large number of isolates against any crop germplasm. Keeping this in view, three varieties of cauliflower viz., Pusa Deepali, Pusa Meghna and Pusa Sharad were evaluated using detached leaf method, for level of infection by twenty-two isolates of A. brassicae (16) and A. brassicicola (6) collected from different states of India. Four different ages of leaves viz- 15, 30, 45 and 60-day were evaluated for their comparative susceptibility to the pathogens. Percent Disease Index values differed significantly and disease was expressed only in 60-day old leaves with no symptoms in 45-day old leaves, clearly indicating susceptibility of matured leaves. All six A. brassicicola isolates infected both 45 and 60 days old leaves while full infection of Alternaria brassicae was found only on 60 days old leaves.
EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE ON PROTECTIVE PROPENSITY OF ACACIA NILOTICA ON ACID CORROSION OF COPPER
SWATI YADAV,ALKA SHARMA
Review of Research , 2013,
Abstract: The inhibition effect of Acacia nilotica Pethanolic extract on copper corrosion in 0.5N hydrochloric acid has been studied by weight loss method between 303-353K temperatures. The inhibition efficiency increased with increase in concentration of plant extract. The corrosion rate increased with increase in temperature and decreased with increase in concentration of inhibitor compared to blank. The adsorption of inhibitor on Cu metal have been found to obey Langmuir adsorption isotherm. The values of activation energy (Ea), free energy of adsorption (?G ), enthalpy of adsorption (?H), adsand entropy of adsorption (?S) were calculated. The G values indicate that the adsorption of EE Pon copper metal surface is physical in nature. Surface analysis (FT- AnIR) was also carried out to establish the mechanism of corrosion inhibition on copper corrosion in hydrochloric acid medium.
SAC-OCDMA with Zero Vector Combinatorial Code (ZVCC)
Swati Sharma,Preeti
International Journal of Computer Science and Management Studies , 2011,
Abstract: In this paper the performance of the incoherent SAC-OCDMAsystem using Zero Vector Combinatorial Code (ZVCC) has beenobserved by varying the code length and data rate. ZVCC is betterthan the other proposed code as it has small code length, accommodates more number of users and the design algorithm issimple. The results have been observed and analyzed in terms ofBER. The simulated results show that the system at code weight 4accommodates around 99 users at effective power -10dBm and asdata rate is increased the BER degrades. The comparative studyof the system using ZVCC with Zero Cross-correlation Code hasbeen carried out. The results indicate that ZVCC truly performsbetter than ZCC code.
BER Performance Evaluation of FFT-OFDM and DWT-OFDM
Swati Sharma,Sanjeev Kumar
International Journal of Network and Mobile Technologies , 2011,
Abstract: Orthogonal frequency division multiplexing (OFDM) is a special form of multi carrier transmission which has found its application in a number of wireless and wireline systems. In an OFDM scheme, a large number of orthogonal, overlapping, narrow band sub-channels or subcarriers, transmitted in parallel, divide the availabletransmission bandwidth. The separation of the subcarriers is theoretically minimal such that there is a very compact spectral utilization. This paper presents the overview and then the performance evaluation results of an OFDM system by using Fast Fourier Transform (FFT) and Discrete Wavelet Transform (DWT). The results presented in the paper are based on computer simulations performed using Matlab; a highly efficient tool for different applications.
Neurofibroma of the Pinna  [PDF]
Satinder Singh, Swati Tandon, Asish Lahiri, Shalabh Sharma
International Journal of Otolaryngology and Head & Neck Surgery (IJOHNS) , 2014, DOI: 10.4236/ijohns.2014.32014
Abstract:

Neurofibromas are relatively common lesions of the nervous system, but only a few cases involving the pinna have been reported. Isolated neurofibroma of pinna without neurofibromatosis has not been reported in the literature so far. Neurofibromas may develop anywhere in the body, including cranial and peripheral nerves. The type of impairment associated with neurofibromas depends largely on the site of the lesion. Cutaneous lesions, especially in the head and neck, generally cause deformity, whereas lesions that affect deeper systems (e.g., the auditory and ocular systems) are more likely to cause functional impairment. Usually found in individuals with neurofibromatosis, we report a case of neurofibroma of pinna in a patient without neurofibromatosis

A New Signature Scheme Based on Factoring and Discrete Logarithm Problems
Swati Verma,Birendra Kumar Sharma
Journal of Modern Mathematics and Statistics , 2012, DOI: 10.3923/jmmstat.2012.7.9
Abstract: In 1994, He and Kiesler proposed a digital signature scheme which was based on the factoring and the discrete logarithm problem both. Same year, Shimin-Wei modiffied the He-Kiesler signature scheme. In this study, researchers propose an improvement of Shimin-Wei signature scheme based on factorization and discrete logarithm problem both with different parameters and using a collision-free one-way hash function. In the opinion, the scheme is more secure than the earlier one.
Comparison of different Combining methods and Relaying Techniques in Cooperative Diversity.
Swati Singh Tomar,Santosh Sharma
International Journal of Engineering Sciences & Research Technology , 2013,
Abstract: An ad-hoc network with a sender, a destination and a third station act-ing as a relay is analyzed. The channels are modeled containing thermal noise, Rayleigh fading and path loss. Different combining methods and diversity protocols are compared. The amplify and forward protocol shows a better performance than the decode and forward protocol, unless an error correcting code is simulated. To combine the incoming signals the channel quality should be estimated as well as possible. Information about the average quality shows nice benefits, and a rough approximation about the variation of the channel quality increases the performance even more. What-ever combination of diversity protocol and combining method is used second level diversity is observed. The relative distances between the relay and the stations has a large effect on the performance. The aim of this project was to study the characteristics and utility of relaying in future wireless systems. The focus was mainly on the cooperative principles and relay selection in the case of mobile multihop relay structures. This project also included the study of IEEE 802.16j, the multihop relay specification for 802.16 or Wimax standard. It was an interesting assignment to study the practical realization of a concept that has evolved over a couple of years. I studied some relevant research papers (listed in the references section), modeled some simulation scenarios based on the results of these papers and gained a invaluable insight on some of the topics.
A New Proxy Blind Signature Scheme Based on DLP
SWATI VERMA,Birendra Kumar Sharma
International Journal of Information and Network Security (IJINS) , 2012, DOI: 10.11591/ijins.v1i2.415
Abstract: A proxy blind signature scheme is a special form of blind signature which allows a designated person called proxy signer to sign on behalf of two or more original signers without knowing the content of the message or document. It combines the advantages of proxy signature and blind signature and satis es the security properties of both proxy and blind signature scheme. In this paper, a new proxy blind signature scheme based on discrete logarithm problem (DLP) has been proposed, which satis es the security properties of both the blind signature and proxy signature. Security analysis also given.which shows that our scheme is secure and efficient.
